Description
- The present invention relates to a track unit for moving a ground work vehicle.
- It is known that several types of ground work vehicle, and we are referring for example to machines that work in the field of agriculture or of earth-moving machines or machines for geophysical research, are provided, instead of the wheels of at least one axle, with track units that comprise a structure for supporting a driving wheel that moves a track in contact with guiding wheels and resting rollers associated with said structure.
- In certain types of track units, such supporting structure is monolithic, but there are also track systems in which the structure proper is divided into two portions connected by means of elastic coupling means in order to provide users with a certain comfort.
-
US-A-5 273 126 discloses a track assembly including a sub-frame supporting ground rollers and rear and front idlers. The sub-frame is supported from a vehicle body frame by parallel front and rear swing links, and a vertically extending air-spring suspension unit connected between the vehicle body frame and the sub-frame in a central position between the front and rear swing links. -
US 2007/0107950 A discloses a suspension system for a vehicle track assembly having a lower front idler wheel, a lower rear idler wheel, a plurality of lower support wheels arranged between the idler wheels, an upper rear drive wheel, and an endless belt mounted aroung the wheels. The plurality of lower support wheels are mounted on a lower support link that is movable with respect to the vehicle frame. The suspension system comprises a front suspension likage pivoted between the vehicle frame and the front idler wheel, and a rear suspension linkage pivoted between the vehicle from and the rear idler wheel. The front suspension linkage has a rear end which is coupled to the lower support link through a front resilient member (air bag), and the rear suspension linkage has a front end which is coupled to the lower support link through a rear resilient member (air bag). The upper rear drive wheel is mounted independently to the lower front and rear idler wheels. - However, the background art provides embodiments of such track units that are not entirely satisfactory, and therefore the aim of the present invention is to provide a track unit that has great simplicity and maximum functional efficiency.
- This aim is achieved by a track unit for moving a ground work vehicle, according to the invention, characterized in that it comprises the features given in the appended claims.
