Claims (9)
- A device for closing a manhole, comprising a frame (1), at least one panel (2) adapted to be supported by the frame (1) and articulating means that cannot be disassembled from the panel (2) relative to the frame (1), the articulation means comprising a post (6) protruding at the periphery of the panel (2) and adapted to engage in a housing (7) formed in a skirt (4) of the frame (1) and a hinge pin (8) extending transversely in the post (6) of the panel (2) and the housing (7) of the frame (1), characterized in that the hinge pin comprises a spindle (8) formed by at least two portions (13, 14) telescopically mounted one in the other and axially distanced from each other by a spring (15) arranged between the two telescoping portions (13, 14) so as to engage and maintain the two ends (13a, 14a) of the hinge pin (8) in two blind holes (20) of the frame (1), respectively.
- The device according to claim 1, characterized in that the two blind holes (20) are formed in two side walls (9), respectively, defining the housing (7) of the post (6) of the panel (2).
- The device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that, before placement of the articulation means in the housing (7) of the frame (1), the two telescoping portions (13, 14) of the spindle (8) are maintained in a collapsed or pushed in position coaxially one in the other against the return force of the spring (15) by a pin (17) passing through the two telescoping portions (13, 14) and that can be withdrawn when the post (6) of the panel (2) provided with the spindle (8) is engaged in the housing (7) of the frame (1) such that the two telescoping portions (13, 14) can move axially away from each other through the action of the spring (15) to engage their ends (13a, 14a) in the two blind holes (20) of the frame (1).
- The device according to claim 3, characterized in that the length of the two portions (13, 14) collapsed one in the other of the spindle (8) is essentially equal to the width of the post (6) of the panel (2).
- The device according to claim 3 or 4, characterized in that the post (6) of the panel (2) comprises at least one recessed portion (18) along its width to allow the introduction of the spindle (8), whereof the telescoping portions (13, 14) are collapsed one into the other, in the post (6) along a direction transverse to the latter.
- The device according to claim 5, characterized in that the pin (17) for retaining the two telescoping portions (13, 14) of the spindle (8) protrudes from the recessed portion (18) of the post (6).
- The device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the spring (15) is a helical compression spring housed in the outer tubular portion (13) of the two telescoping portions (13, 14) and whereof one end coil bears on the bottom (16) of the tubular portion (13) and the opposite end coil bears on the end of the telescopically inner portion (14).
- A spindle usable in a closing device according to claim 1 designed to form an articulation that cannot be disassembled between a panel (2) and a support frame (1) of the panel (2) for a pavement manhole, characterized in that it comprises two portions (13, 14) mounted telescopically one in the other and occupying a position one collapsed inside the other against the return force of a helical compression spring (15) arranged between the two telescoping portions (13, 14) that are maintained in that position by a pin (17) passing through two telescoping portions (13, 14).
- A method for installing a panel (2), such as a buffer or a grating, hingedly mounted so that it cannot be disassembled on a support frame (1) for a device as defined in one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it consists of housing the spindle (8), the two telescoping portions (13, 14) of which are maintained one collapsed in the other by the pin (17), in the post (6) through the latter, engaging the post (6) and the spindle (8) in the housing (7) of the frame (1) and withdrawing the pin (17) such that the spring (15) axially separates the two telescoping portions (13, 14) from each other to engage their ends (13a, 14a) in the two blind holes (20) of the frame (1), respectively.
