Abstract

The device has a rotatably drivable hollow winding roller driving a winding spool i.e. hard cardboard case, by friction. The spool is held on a winding shaft (21) accommodated in a winding accommodating device (23) i.e. main winder, at a variable distance with respect to the roller. The shaft is supported on supports (27, 28) at sides within an area of the device (23). A distance (a) of the supports measured in an axial direction of the shaft, is variably formed based on adjustment to a different length of the spool corresponding to a different width of a wounded material web e.g. paper web.
