Abstract

Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Kern- und/oder Formsandes für Gießereizwecke. Dabei wird ein granularer mineralischer Formgrundstoff mit einem Additiv sowie einem anorganischen Bindemittel gemischt. Erfindungsgemäß wird als Additiv ein anorganisches Blähadditiv mit einer Blähzahl von wenigstens 9 eingesetzt, also einer höheren Blähzahl als sie für Kohle erreicht wird. Alternativ kann auch mit einem anorganischen Additiv gearbeitet werden, beispielsweise mit makrokristallinen Graphit, wobei die Fertigmischung aus dem Formgrundstoff, dem Additiv und dem Bindemittel bis zu einer Dichtezunahme von wenigstens 20 g/dm3 kompaktiert wird.
