Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a double-decked baby bed with a height-adjustable bedplate, wherein this double-decked baby bed is suitable for families, day-care centers or the likes with infant children.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The baby bed, as implied in the name, is a bed for baby. The conventional baby bed generally has a higher playpen that protects the baby or the infant child who sleeps or plays on the baby bed from falling off the baby bed. Due to the existence of the higher playpen, the adult must make a large-scale stooping motion to hold up or put down the baby. However, this large-scale stooping motion is laborious for the young person. Thus, this large-scale stooping motion is absolutely more laborious for the elder person. Besides, the carelessness causes damage to the little and tender baby easily.
  • In order to overcome the aforesaid problems of the conventional baby bed, the present inventor discloses an issued Taiwan patent No. TW250604Y , entitled "detachable double-decked baby bed", which comprises a main bed and a subsidiary bed, wherein the main bed has a deeper depth and the subsidiary bed has a shallower depth. The subsidiary bed is detachably mounted in the upper opening of the main bed for holding the baby.
  • In this double-decked baby bed, the main body of the subsidiary bed is made of a soft material, and the subsidiary bed has several sleeves around the upper opening for holding several border rods so as to support the unfolded subsidiary bed. The subsidiary bed further has several adjustable hooking means, wherein each adjustable hooking means has a hook and a belt. Each belt has several adjustable holding regions divided by several sewing lines for holding parts of the border rods. The aforesaid hooks are allowed to hook the upper edge of the main bed so as to fix the subsidiary bed on the main bed.
  • Although this kind of double-decked baby bed avoids the large-scale stooping motion effectively, it has complicated structure and high production cost. In addition, this additional subsidiary bed must be detached and embedded into the main bed before storage.
  • In view of these drawbacks, the present inventor makes diligent studies in providing the consumers with a simple-structured, low-cost double-decked baby bed, wherein no detachment is required for storage.
  • Document US 2005/034232 A1 discloses a baby bed adapted for use as a bassinet, changing table and playpen. For adjusting the height of a mattress support panel the mattress support panel comprises reinforcing straps for attaching to an enclosure, or the mattress support panel is removably attached to the surrounding walls at the outer perimeter using a zipper.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • It is a main object of the present invention to provide a simple-structured, low-cost double-decked baby bed.
  • It is another object of the present invention to provide an easy-folding double-decked baby bed with a height-adjustable bedplate.
  • In order to achieve the above-mentioned objects, a double-decked baby bed comprises: a folding bedstead; a plurality of soft fabric layers disposed around the bedstead and on the bottom of the bedstead; a folding bedplate for detachably attaching to the bedstead; and two plates which are located between the long sides of the fabric layers. The two plates have a plurality of coupling parts on opposite short sides for detachably coupling to a plurality of coupling parts arranged on opposite short sides of said fabric layer. The plates being reclined on the opposite long fabric layers when the coupling parts of said plates are separated from the coupling parts of said fabric layers, and the two plates are disconnected from each other. As a result, the height of the folding bedplate is adjustable by connection or disconnection of the plates when the folding bedstead is unfolded.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • Other features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent in the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
    • FIG. 1 is a three-dimensional view showing a preferred embodiment of the present invention;
    • FIG. 2 is an exploded view showing the preferred embodiment of the present invention;
    • FIG. 3 is a schematic, cross-sectional view showing an application of the preferred embodiment of the present invention;
    • FIG. 4 is a schematic, cross-sectional view showing another application of the preferred embodiment of the present invention; and
    • FIG. 5 is schematic, partial-enlarged view showing the preferred embodiment of the present invention.
    DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Referring to FIGS. 1 through 5, a baby bed 1 of the present invention generally comprises a folding bedstead 10 and several soft fabric layers 11 around the bedstead 10 and on the bottom of the bedstead 10. The baby bed 1 has a rigid, detachable, folding bedplate 14. Two plates 12 and 13 are located between the long sides of the baby bed 1, and detachably coupled with the opposite short fabric layers 11. Besides, several hook and loop tapes 111 are disposed on the lower portions of the opposite long fabric layers 11. Each of the opposite short fabric layers 11 has several coupling parts 112 on the center portion. The plates 12 and 13 have several respective coupling parts 121 and 131 on the respective short sides corresponding to the coupling parts 112 of the opposite short fabric layers 11. The plates 12 and 13 have respective opposite zippers 122 and 132 on the respective long sides. The plates 12 and 13 have a plurality of hook and loop tapes 123 and 133 adjacent to the zippers 122 and 132 corresponding to the hook and loop tapes 111.
  • If this baby bed is applied to the newly born baby or infant who cannot sit up, the zippers 122 and 132 on the long sides of the plates 12 and 13 are cooperatively zipped up, and the coupling parts 121 and 131 on the short sides of the plates 12 and 13 are coupled with the coupling parts 112 on the opposite short fabric layers 11 so as to form an upper base. Next, as shown in FIG. 3, the detachable bedplate 14 is placed on this upper base such that the height of the detachable bedplate 14 can be elevated from a deeper position to a shallower position. As a result, it is easy for a person to hold up the little baby from the baby bed or put the little baby on the baby bed, whereby this person is prevented from making a large-scale stooping motion, which hurts this person and causes risk to this baby.
  • However, when the baby grows up, the height of the upper base may be insecure for the child who can sit up or crawl. As a result, as shown in FIG. 4, the detachable bedplate 14 is detached from the baby bed 1, and the coupling parts 121 and 131 on the short sides of the plates 12 and 13 are separated from the coupling parts 112 on the opposite short fabric layers 11. Next, the zippers 122 and 132 of the upper base are unzipped to separate the upper base into individual plates 12 and 13. Next, the hook and loop tapes 123 and 133 of the plates 12 and 13 are coupled with the hook and loop tapes 111 on the lower portions of the opposite long fabric layers 11 to allow the plates 12 and 13 to recline on the opposite long fabric layers 11. Finally, the detachable bedplate 14 is put on the baby bed 1 to form a lower base. As a result, the baby bed 1 becomes a safe playground for the child who can sit up or crawl.
  • Moreover, as shown in FIG. 5, in order to fold up the bedstead 10, the bedstead 10 further comprises several corner structures 101 for pivotal connection with several rods, which have a circular profile head 102 on each end, so as to prevent the formation of undesired gap, which causes damage to the user's fingers during the rotation of the circular profile head 102.
  • In accordance with the foregoing description, it is apparent that the present invention provides the advantage as follows:
    1. 1. The base of the simple-structured baby bed can be adjusted to a proper height according to the requirements of users, whereby the little baby can be held up or put down easily and the production cost can be reduced significantly.
    2. 2. By coupling the coupling parts of the plates with the coupling parts at a proper height of the baby bed and zipping up the zippers of the plates cooperatively, the upper base with a shallow depth is formed on the baby bed effectively.
    3. 3. The problems of the conventional baby bed that requires an additional subsidiary bed to provide a shallow depth and that embeds this additional subsidiary bed into the main bed before storage can be overcome effectively.
