Claims (6)

  1. Method for producing filter cigarettes, in which double-length filter plugs (51) are inserted between double-length tobacco rods (15, 16), these double-length filter plugs (51) are connected to the, in each case, two double-length tobacco rods (15, 16) by means of a wrapping sheet (52), and, by a subsequent separating cut through the double-length filter plugs (51), two partial streams having double-length cigarettes with a single-length filter plug and with a free end are obtained, characterised in that the cigarettes of both partial streams are rearranged, subsequently in each case one double-length filter plug (61) is inserted between the free ends of the cigarettes of the partial streams and this filter plug (61) is connected to the cigarettes of the partial streams by means of a wrapping sheet (62), the cigarettes of both partial streams being rearranged by at least a staggering, a pushing operation and a subsequent staggering.
  2. Method according to Claim 1, characterised in that, after the rearranging, the cigarettes of both partial streams are arranged in an axially aligned manner.
