Definitions
- the upper flap of the second walls is associated with a reinforcing plate of dimensions substantially identical to those of the said walls, so that in the erected position of the body, this plate is applied against the second associated wall, while in the folded position the lower part of this plate is detached from the second wall and constitutes with it an inverted "Y".
- This technical solution partially solves the problem of robustness of the body. But this box includes, like the box described above, as many independent parts articulated to each other. In addition, it is overweight, which generates significant ergonomic problems.
- a rectangular rectangular box foldable and open upwards which has a bottom wall and an upper rectangular frame, as well as four side walls, two facing walls, said first walls, being articulated with respect to the bottom or frame, while the two other facing walls, called second walls, consisting of two flaps articulated one with respect to an axis parallel to the bottom, are moreover articulated both with respect to the bottom and to the frame, so that, as a result of the tilting of the first walls inwardly in order to bring them into a plane parallel to the bottom, the tilting of the two flaps of the second walls around said axis is allowed to bring them into the folded position, one on the another towards the inside of the box in a position substantially parallel to said bottom, the bottom and said second walls being made of a single folded sheet of plastic or cardboard, while q ue the axes of articulation of said walls with respect to the bottom and the frame, and flaps therebetween are formed by fold lines.
- the upper flap of the second walls is extended by a reinforcing plate of dimensions substantially identical to those of the said walls, this plate bypassing said frame and being integral with the inner face of said upper flap, so that '' in erected position of the body, this plate is applied against the second wall associated, while in the folded position, the lower part of this plate is detached from the second wall and constitutes with it an inverted "Y".
- a single sheet is used to constitute the upper flap of the second walls and the reinforcing plate, instead of parts which, according to the state of the art, were made up of different elements. This has an advantageous effect on the manufacturing technique of the box and on its cost price.
- - said plastic material is made of cellular polypropylene, in particular extruded, or of full polypropylene;
- - Said frame consists of a cylindrical metal wire, for example steel;
- - an additional reinforcing element is interposed between the upper flap of the second walls and the reinforcing plate;
- - Said reinforcing plate is itself extended by a flap which is folded at least once on itself, against said reinforcing plate, so as to constitute an additional reinforcing element interposed between said upper flap of the second walls and the reinforcement plate;
- - Said first walls are articulated relative to the frame and are extended by a reinforcing plate which bypasses the frame and is integral with their inner face;
- - an additional reinforcing element is inter
- FIGS. 1 to 3 are perspective views of a box according to the invention, respectively in erect, semi folded and folded position;
- - Figure 4 is a simplified front view of the box, its first walls not being shown, intended to illustrate the way in which it is unfolded / folded;
- - Figure 5 is an end view of a first wall;
- - Figure 6 is an end view of a variant of the first wall of Figure 5;
- - Figure 7 is a side view of a part of the sheet which constitutes the bottom and the second walls of the box, according to an alternative embodiment;
- - Figure 8 is an end view of a second wall according to Figure 6, modified to accommodate a grip handle;
- - Figure 9 is a partial front view of such a wall, after installation of a recessed handle;
- - Figure 10 is also a partial front view of a first wall, in which is embedded an information label support;
- - Figures 11 to 13 are perspective views, respectively in
- the box 1 shown in the accompanying figures is a rectangular parallelepiped box, foldable and open towards the top. It essentially consists of an upper rectangular frame 2, a bottom 3, and four side walls, namely two first facing walls 5 and two second walls 4.
- the frame 2 is formed of a cylindrical steel wire. In a variant not shown, it could consist for example of a rigid and molded plastic material, or of bent steel tubes.
- This frame has two first sides 20, which constitute the short sides of the rectangle in which it is inscribed, as well as two second sides 21, which constitute the long sides of said rectangle. It will be noted that the first sides 20 extend at a height slightly greater than that of the second sides 21. The latter are connected to the first in the corner areas of the frame, as shown in particular in Figure 1.
- This reinforcing element has, as shown in Figure 5, a thickness which corresponds approximately to the diameter of the wire which constitutes the frame 2. It is preferably made of the same material as that which constitutes the walls 5 namely, in the case present, cellular polypropylene.
- the thickness of the walls 5 is of the order of four millimeters, while that of the reinforcing element 8 is of the order of eight millimeters.
- the assembly thus formed therefore has a thickness of the order of 16 millimeters.
- the element 8 not only has the function of reinforcing the wall 5, but also of allowing a parallel holding of this wall and of the plate 50.
- the side 20 of the frame 2 thus constitutes an axis of articulation for this assembly.
- the expression “wall 5” will be used to denote both the wall itself and the assembly which it constitutes with the plate 50 and the reinforcing element 8.
- the bottom 3 and said second walls 4 of the box 1 consist of a single folded sheet F 2 of plastic or cardboard.
- the same material is used as that which constitutes the sheet Fi. More precisely and as shown in FIG.
- each second wall 4 is extended by a reinforcing plate 42 of dimensions identical to this second wall. More precisely, it is always the same sheet F 2 folded twice more along two fold lines L 6 and L 7 parallel to the previous ones. This portion of the sheet F 2 is folded around the corresponding side 21 of the frame, so that the wall 4 and the plate 42 are found parallel to each other, facing one another, when the body occupies the erected position of Figure 1.
- an additional reinforcing element 8 also in the form of plate, which is for example glued to the upper flap 41 of the wall 5 and to the plate 42, at their faces facing one another.
- the present element 8 has a thickness which corresponds approximately to the diameter of the wire which constitutes the frame 2. It is preferably made of the same material as that which constitutes the walls 4.
- This reinforcing element has dimensions identical to those of the plate 42. This means that in the erected position of the body, as shown in particular in Figure 1 , the element 8 is pressed against the associated wall 4, in a vertical position. On the other hand, in the semi-folded position, as shown in FIGS.
- the height walls 4 and 5 may be provided sufficient so that, in the erected position of the body, their lower edge comes into contact with significant friction with the bottom, so that the maneuvers described above can only be carried out if the there are significant pressures. This overcomes any untimely folding of the box, as is the case in particular with certain boxes of the state of the art.
- the first walls 5 are articulated not relative to the frame, but relative to the bottom 3.
- the first walls 5 are articulated not relative to the frame, but relative to the bottom 3.
- midway between the angles of the frame are provided rectangular cutouts 51 which leave bare a corresponding portion of the tube which constitutes the side 21 of the frame.
- the articulation axes being constituted by fold lines which prove to be very resistant to use, we no longer find our faced with problems of hinges or articulation lugs which break or become detached, as in state of the art cases.
- At least the wall facing the interior of the sheets Fi and F 2 is smooth, that is to say without roughness. This is particularly important for the transport of fragile or easily damaged parts. Indeed, in the absence of roughness, such parts can be packaged and transported in a box according to the invention, without risk of deterioration.
- Figure 6 is shown an embodiment of a first wall 5.
- a single sheet Fi which surrounds an additional reinforcing element 8 (for example in cellular polypropylene - abbreviated PPA-).
- the sheet Fi therefore constitutes both the first wall 5 and the reinforcing plate 50.
- the opposite ends 500 of the sheet Fi meet at mid-height of the plate 50, opposite wall 5.
- this wall is intended to be turned towards the outside, its surface is smooth, without discontinuity.
- the upper and lower edges of the wall are closed and without sharp corners, which makes them less
- the embodiment of the second wall 4 is inspired by the same concept.
- the reinforcing plate 42 which equips the second wall 4 is itself extended by a flap which here consists of two flaps 43 and 44 folded back on themselves (at 180 °) against the plate 42. They are fixed there, for example. This makes it possible to dispense with the use of an additional reinforcing element which is distinct from the reinforcing plate. Again, the free upper and lower edges of the wall 4 and of its associated reinforcement plate 42 are closed and without sharp angles, which makes them less aggressive.
- the additional stiffness which was given by the element 8 is here advantageously replaced by the "multiplication" of the flaps.
- it can be formed in the walls 4 of the recesses 410 in the form of "window", which extend from the upper flaps 41 of the walls 4, to the flaps 43 and 44 included.
- these recesses have a closure bottom formed by the plate 42.
- These windows are intended to receive, by embedding, handles 411 of injected plastic. Of course, care will have been taken beforehand to make the recesses so that they are, in pairs, one opposite the other on each wall 4.
- a shutter base constituted by the plate 42 has the advantage of preventing any entry of dust at this level inside the boxes, when the latter are superimposed in the erected position.
- the walls 5 may also have a recess 51 in which a label holder 52 is placed, a location 53 accessible from access being used to engage an interchangeable label therein. If necessary, glue joints can be put in place at the periphery of the label holder, in order to ensure that the water which flows on the walls 5 does not enter the thickness of the latter.
- Figures 11 to 13 is shown an embodiment of a box whose bottom angles are supported, directly or indirectly on so-called "foot" cups 30.
- the angles of the upper frame 2 are also provided with ""stacking" 24. They are arranged in such a way that when two identical boxes are stacked, the foot cups 30 of the upper box are supported on the top of stacking cups 24 of the lower box. Reference will be made more precisely to FIGS. 14 to 17 to describe their structure.
- the foot cups 30 are molded plastic parts, rigid but elastically deformable. They have an external "L" shape which is delimited by two vertical walls at right angles 300. In the angle which joins the two walls 300 also extends vertically a finger 301 which projects upwards.
- the base of the two walls 300 extends, from the outside to the inside, by a first horizontal plate 302, a vertical partition 303 and a second plate 304. We are therefore dealing with a staircase profile. From one of the walls 300 extends horizontally and inwards, at one of its ends, a lip 306, the function of which will be explained below. Finally, the "internal" plate 304 projects upwards a molded finger
- the first plate 302 is intended to receive the bottom 3 of the body, while the plate 304 receives a reinforcing plate thick 9, for example in PPA.
- the plate 9 is put in place first. If necessary, in the cells of its opposite edges of smaller dimension are engaged metal stiffening elements 91. These are sort of arches whose body 910 has three legs 911 and 912 which engage in the aforementioned cells .
- the tab 911 has a central position, while the tabs 912 are distributed at the ends. Prior to its installation, the plate 9 is pierced with openings 90, the position of which corresponds to that of the fingers 305. The plate therefore rests on each of the plates 304.
- Their upper edge is referenced 242, while their wings at right angles are referenced 240.
- the latter have a groove 241 which extends vertically over a large part of their height and which leads to their lower edge.
- These cups are forcibly engaged in the raised corners of the metal frame 2 which equips the body. To do this, the opposite vertical faces of the groove 241 have a spacing such that they pinch the metal of the frame.
- the thickness of these cups is such that when two boxes are superimposed, the underside of the plate 302 of the upper box rests on the upper edge 242 of the stacking cups 24 of the lower box. Being a support of two flat and horizontal surfaces, the stack thus produced is particularly stable.
- the cups 24 have a recess 243 directed downwards, the shape of which is complementary to that of the top of the fingers 301 of the foot cups 30.
- the finger 301 of each foot cup 30 engages by snap-fastening in the recess 243 of each stacking cup 24. It is ensured thus perfect maintenance of the body in the folded position. To unfold the body, it suffices to pull the frame
- FIG. 19 is shown, schematically, a body thus equipped.
- a body thus equipped.
- the top of these studs 94 'forming "stops" has the function of serving as a support at the base of the walls 5 of the body in the erected position. There is thus a resumption of the efforts by the top of these studs.
- the boxes which have just been described have the following dimensions: - height in erected position: 250 millimeters; - height in folded position: 60 millimeters; - length: 800 millimeters; - width: 600 millimeters.
- Such cases are particularly suitable for the transport of articles such as spare parts for the automobile, heavy or fragile, for which shuttles between several remote production sites are necessary. They withstand a load of around 30 kg, for an empty weight of around 3 to 4 kg.
