Definitions
- the present invention relates to a device for providing the heating of grounds and in particular the frosting of sports fields.
- Such heating devices are known to use conductive cables which are buried in the ground and which are supplied with electric current through transformers which are arranged in a nearby technical room of the ground to be heated. The latter is subdivided into several sectors dug trenches in which the heating cables connected to the secondary of the transformer are arranged.
- Field heating devices of this type have a major disadvantage in that the electrical energy is transported from the transformer to the sector to be heated by energy connections which are extremely expensive to use, on the one hand to quantity of energy consumed and, secondly, in raw material cost.
- all the sectors that one wishes to heat do not have identical characteristics in particular as regards their resistivity, so that if one wishes to bring them to the same temperature it is necessary to distribute a specific heating power according to these characteristics.
- the purpose of the present invention is thus to propose a device intended to ensure the heating of grounds, and in particular sports grounds, which allow them to be set free of frost, and this in a totally safe way with regard to the implementation of the electric current and, on the other hand, by making notable savings, both in terms of electricity consumption and the cost of implementation.
- the present device also aims to allow adjustment of the power delivered by each transformer element with the zone to be heated him . matches.
- the present invention thus relates to an installation for heating a terrain, particularly sports, by means of cables powered by electric current which are buried in the ground thereof, characterized in that the surface of the ground to be heated is divided into several sectors, and each sector is heated by at least two heating lines each constituting a secondary of the same transformer.
- the transformer will preferably be of toric type, and its secondary winding will be made of a metal of lower conductivity than that of the heating lines, the secondary winding can thus be made of copper and the aluminum heating lines.
- the diameter of the wire of the secondary winding and that of the heating line can thus have identical diameters which facilitates in particular the connection problems.
- the transformers will be placed in close proximity to the ground, preferably in a technical gallery buried in the ground.
- the primary winding of the transformers will comprise a screen formed of a metal strip, preferably consisting of aluminum or copper.
- the cable constituting the secondary winding of the transformer will advantageously be made of two conductive elements twisted on one another.
- Figure 1 is a schematic view of a heating system according to the invention.
- Figure 2 is a top view of a transformer used in the installation according to the invention.
- Figure 3 is a sectional view of the transformer shown in Figure 1 along line III-III thereof.
- Figure 4 is a schematic vertical sectional view showing the technical gallery adjacent to the ground to be heated.
- Figure 5 is a schematic top view of a football field heated by the installation 1 according to the invention.
- Figure 6 is a cross-sectional view of a primary winding cable used in the installation according to the invention.
- FIG. 1 shows schematically a part of a sports field 1 which is divided into several sectors, namely sectors 1a, 1b, 1c which are intended to be heated so, for example, to put them off frost.
- the heating installation consists of a series of transformers 3a, 3b, 3c,..., 3n which are each associated with the heating of a determined field sector 1a, Ib, Ic, ..., In.
- a transformer thus provides, for example, the supply of three heating lines 9,
- the primary 5 of each of these transformers is fed by a three-phase electrical line 7 formed of two phase lines L1, L2 and a neutral line N.
- the three primary windings of the transformers 3a, 3b and 3c are respectively fed on the lines L1-L2, L2-N and L1-N.
- Each of the three heating lines 9, 9 'I associated with a transformer 3a, 3b, 3c, ..., 3n is respectively connected to a secondary winding 8, 8', 8 "thereof.
- Figures 2 and 3 such a transformer which essentially comprises a ring core 10 around which is wound the primary winding 5 and the three secondary windings 8, 8 'and 8 ". (For the sake of clarity of the drawing, only the winding 8) is shown on it.
- Each secondary winding consists of five turns which are made in a copper conductor and which are m c m
- the primary winding 5 consists of a larger number of windings of smaller diameter, the conductive wire used is also made of copper.
- the conductive wire advantageously comprise an electrostatic screen which will be integrated and which is made of a thin sheet of aluminum or copper.
- each of the sectors to be heated la, Ib, Ic, ..., In is different from the sectors that are adjacent to it, so that each of them will require the use of a line of heating 9, 9 ', 9 "capable of delivering a different power.
- the present invention makes it possible precisely to give the user the possibility of adjusting, once in the field, the power delivered by each secondary winding as a function of the specific physical parameters of the soil to be heated and of its specific heat requirements, and this by playing on the tension delivered by it.
- This supply voltage can be controlled by varying the number of turns of each of the secondary windings.
- an average power supply voltage will be obtained with a given number of turns, (for example five) which will leave the user the possibility of either removing one or two turns if it wishes to decrease the tension, or to add a two turns if it wishes to increase it.
- the transformers 3 may be arranged in a technical gallery 16 made for example in a trench dug in the ground at the edge of the ground.
- the transformers can be made completely sealed by coating their magnetic circuit in a product consisting for example of a resin.
- the turns constituting the secondary winding and the heating wires which are buried in the ground may be of different natures. It will thus be possible to make the turns of the secondary winding in a metal of very good electrical conductivity which will minimize the heating of the secondary of the transformer, and to achieve the turns constituting the heating lines 9, 9 ', 9 " in a metal of higher resistivity.
- these elements will preferably have identical diameters, it being understood that the difference in resistance of these two elements will be due solely to the difference in resistivity between the respective materials chosen to constitute the turns of the secondary winding and the heating elements.
- the heating cable will in fact be made of two elements which will be twisted on one another, which makes it possible to avoid any magnetic field formation induced by these cables around the ground to be heated.
- the output voltage of the secondary transformers will be of the order of 40 to 50 volts and the resistors constituted by the heating lines 9, 9 ', 9 "will be of the order of 0.5 to 0.8 ⁇ , the power provided by the secondary of each winding of the transformer then being of the order of 20 kVA.
- a conductive cable • constituting the primary of the transformer consists of the inside to the outside of a conducting wire 18 made of aluminum, an insulating layer 20 constituted for example by polyvinyl chloride, a copper strip 22 constituting the screen and finally an outer layer 24 insulating and sealed, for example polyvinyl chloride.
- the installation according to the invention was able to ensure the heating of a 6000 m2 sports ground under an outside temperature of -10 ° C. and to put it freezing at a temperature of 5 0 C.
- a series of twenty four transformers distributed along the ground in a technical sheath buried in the ground with a unit power of 20 kVA thus delivering an overall power of 480 kVA .
- the secondary of these transformers consisted of five windings delivering each a power of 4 kVA and the resistance of the heating lines 9 were of the order of 0.6 ⁇ .
