Abstract

A package, especially a cigarette package, comprising a package part (14) and a lid (15), is provided with an inner part, namely an inner package (13) which, in its upper portion, is configured as a collar, and in its lower portion forms the bottom wall of the package. The package is thus two-part and consists of the outer package (12) and the inner package (13). These package parts can be combined by fitting them into each other, thereby allowing for a continuous course of manufacture.

Description

The invention relates to a cigarette pack according to the preamble of claim 1.

Known are packages with hinged lid especially in the version as a classic Hinge lid pack. This consists of a lower box part, a lid which is pivotally connected to the box part in the region of the box rear wall and the lid rear wall and is anchored in the box part and protrudes partially out of a collar which consists of a separate blank. The so-formed folding box is made of thin cardboard. Construction and production of this type of packing are complex. In particular, a continuous manufacturing or folding process is difficult in industrial production.

Also known are packs, which consist of an outer pack and an inner pack ( EP 0 693 441 A1 ). Both pack parts are first folded separately and then merged into a package. Also in this case, the manufacture of the package is complicated.

The invention has for its object to present a novel package with hinged lid, which has a technically simple, but functional structure and beyond can be manufactured industrially in a simple manner.

To solve this problem, the package according to the invention is characterized by the following features:

1. a) the box part of the outer package has only a box front wall, a box back wall and two opposing box side walls,
2. b) tongues formed by U- or C-shaped punches are formed in the region of upright collar edges of the inner pack, which tongues bear on the inside of a lid wall opposite to a line joint of the lid.

The package according to the invention therefore consists of two pack parts, each of a separate blank, in particular of thin cardboard. These packing parts are preferably folded or prepared separately and then brought together or pushed together and thereby connected to each other (by glue). The structural design of the packing parts is chosen so that the outer package forms the lid with end wall and the box part, but in the bottom wall is open. This is formed by the inner package, which preferably has a plurality of folding flaps, namely (interconnected) bottom flaps for a closed bottom wall. The inner package according to the invention is designed so that an upper portion protrudes from the box part and assumes the function of a collar. In addition, tongues are provided on the collar, which bear against the inside of a lid opposite to a left-hand cover of the lid.

A special feature is the preferred embodiment of the package according to the invention with a hinge line for the lid in the region of a narrow side wall. This also leads to a special design of the collar or the inner pack and the lid.

The embodiments illustrated in the drawings are concerned with cigarette packs. These have a cuboid structure according to the contents of the package, namely a group of cigarettes, which is surrounded by an inner blank 10 made of paper or tin foil and thus forms a block-shaped cigarette block as a package contents.

The pack is a hinged lid pack, especially made of thin cardboard. In its basic construction, the packing consists of an outer part, namely an outer packing 12 and an inner packing part, ie an inner packing 13. Each packing part 12, 13 consists of a separate blank, namely according to FIG Fig. 4 for the outer pack 12 and according to Fig. 5 for the inner pack 13.

The outer package 12 forms a (lower) box part 14 and an (upper) lid 15. Box part 14 and lid 15 are pivotally connected to each other.

The blank for the outer package 12 is constructed according to the folding principle of the transverse winding. Thus, adjacent to each other, blank areas are defined for box front wall 16, box rear wall 17, side wall 18, 19, and connecting tabs 20. The (narrow) box side wall 18 is positioned between box front wall 16 and box rear wall 17. The box side wall 19 is arranged at the edge of the box front wall 19 and is in the sleeve-shaped folding of the blank with the connecting tab 20 on the opposite side of the blank, namely at the edge of the box rear wall 17, connected by glue.

The cover 15 is therefore part of this one-piece blank for the outer package 12. The cover 15 accordingly consists of a cover front wall 21, cover rear wall 22, cover side walls 23, 24 and cover connecting tabs 25. The walls 21, 22, 23 of the lid 15 are delimited from the corresponding walls of the box part 14 by a line of weakness, namely by punching lines 26 and residual connections 27. In the area of box side wall 19 and lid side wall 24 and the connecting tab 20 and the lid connecting tab 25 is a transverse Embossment provided, which forms a line joint 28 between the box part 14 and cover 15.

The peculiarity of the pack is that both pack parts, namely outer pack 12 and inner pack 13, are open on one side or remain. In the embodiments shown, the outer package 12 is formed without bottom, so open at the bottom side. In contrast, the outer package 12 forms a closed end wall 29 of the lid 15. This consists of two end lobes 30, 31. The attached to the lid front wall 21 and to the lid rear wall 22. In the finished package results in a mutual overlap and connection (by glue) of the end flaps 30, 31 with each other.

The inner package 13 or its blank ( Fig. 5 ) consists of inner front wall 32, inner rear wall 33 and inner side wall 34, the latter in the arrangement between inner front wall 32 and inner rear wall 33. The inner package 13 formed therefrom - within the outer package 12 - is upwards, namely Cover 15 open, however, forms a bottom wall 35 of the pack. For this purpose, bottom tabs 36, 37, 38 are provided, which are connected to the walls 32, 33, 34. The bottom tab 38 is a corner tab which lies on the inside overlapping bottom tabs 36, 37 ( Fig. 3 ).

A special feature is that the inner pack 13 has only one side wall 34. This is within the finished package ( Fig. 2 ) the box side wall 18 and lid side wall 23 facing, that is, in the region of the single-layer side wall of the outer package. To the opposite side wall 19, 24 is the inner pack thirteenth open, so that a cross-sectionally U-shaped insert is given. As a result, all sides of the pack are formed in two layers ( Fig. 3 ). The bottom wall 35 is flush with the lower edge of the (outer) outer package 12.

The inner pack 13 assumes the function of a collars usual collars. It is an upper portion of the inner package 13, which protrudes from the box part 14 and is covered by the latter when the lid 15 is closed ( Fig. 3 ). The blank for the inner package 13 is provided for this purpose with a usual conventional folding carton contour of the collar, namely with a recess 39 which is bounded by a curved, upper blank edge 40. In the embodiment according to Fig. 1 to Fig. 7 the inner pack 13 is positioned in the outer pack 12 such that the recess 39 extends in the region of the side wall 18 opposite the line joint 28. The recess 39 is dimensioned so that the side wall 18 and adjacent portions of front wall 16 and rear wall 17 are detected. This results in a peripheral recess, in the area of the package contents, namely the cigarette block 11, is exposed. Also, access to the cigarettes is possible in this area if the inner blank 10 is partially removed. This has a front fold 41 with perforation 42 to create a detachable opening tab. The perforation 42 consists of a transverse, an upright and a horizontal area ( Fig. 3 .).

The package according to Fig. 1 to Fig. 7 is opened on its narrow side, namely on the lid side wall 23. The punching lines 26 are in the range of front wall 16, 21 and rear wall 17, 22 obliquely upward directed to the line joint 28. The front walls 16, 21 and the rear walls 17, 22 are accordingly trapezoidal design with obliquely extending closing edges.

When opening the package for the first time, the remaining connections 27 in the region of side wall 18, 23 and in the region of front wall 16, 21 or rear wall 17, 22 must be severed. The arrangement is such that a residual connection 27 (approximately) is located midway between the box side wall 18 and the lid side wall 23. Each additional residual connection is provided in the region of the front and back.

The protruding from the box part 14 part of the inner pack 13, so functionally the collar is provided with a closing aid. In the area upright collar edges 43 each formed by C or U-shaped punches tongues 44 are formed. These extend after folding the blank for the inner pack 13 along the collar edges 43 continue in the plane of the walls 32, 33, thus protrude beyond the transverse inner side wall 34 away. In the closed position of the lid 15, these tongues 44 are located as a closing aid on the inside of the lid side wall 23 ( Fig. 3 ).

To create a unit of outer pack 12 and inner pack 13, these are interconnected, in the illustrated embodiment by gluing. The inner package 13 is provided at the lower portion of the inner front wall 32 and the inner rear wall 33 with (two) glue spots 45 which are connected to the inside of the outer package 12.

The package according to Fig. 8 to Fig. 13 is an example of the construction of a classic folding box. A line joint 46 is arranged in the area between the box rear wall 17 and the lid rear wall 22. The line of weakness between box part 14 and cover 15 of the outer package 12 extends with exactly transverse punched lines 26 in the area between the box front wall 16 and the lid front wall 21. On the box side wall 18 and lid side wall 23 on the one hand and the box side wall 19th and lid side wall 24 each obliquely directed legs of the weakening line with (two) punched lines 26 and a residual connection 27 are provided. This configuration is repeated in the region of the connection tab 20 and of the cover connection tab 25 in such a way that the lines of weakness in this area coincide with the lines of weakness in the area of the walls 19, 24 when the outer package 12 reaches the tubular (intermediate) folding position (FIG. Fig. 12 ) receives. Incidentally, the blank for the outer package according to the embodiment corresponds Fig. 10 . Fig. 12 the embodiment described above.

In a special way, the inner package 13 is formed, which comprises the package contents - seen in cross section - on three sides, namely with an inner front wall 46 and two inner side walls 47, 48. In the complete package ( Fig. 8, Fig. 9 ), the inner front wall 46 abuts against the box front wall 16 and is connected thereto by glue spots 49. At the top, the inner pack 13 is according to Fig. 9 with the Well 39 provided, which corresponds to a conventional folding box. The recess 39 is positioned centrally to the front of the package. Closing aids, namely tongues 44, are arranged in the same or analogous manner in the region of the upright collar edges 43, but with the result that these tongues 44 bear against the inside of the lid front wall 21 when the lid 15 is closed.

In particular, the bottom wall 35 is formed in this type of packing. On the inner front wall 46 a extending over its full width bottom tab 50 is attached. These are on the inside associated with corner tabs 51, 52, respectively in extension of the inner side walls 47, 48. The corner tabs 51, 52 are in folded bottom wall on the inside of the bottom flap 50 at.

On the free side of the bottom tab 50 is provided with a connecting tab 53. This is folded into an upright position and abuts against the inside of the box rear wall 17. With the help of glue dots 54, the connecting tab 53 is attached to the box rear wall 17, so that an overall stable packing construction is given.

In the manufacture of packages of the described embodiment, it is expedient to proceed so that the outer package 12 is partially prefabricated, in particular in a cardboard factory. The blank of the outer package 12 is brought into a sleeve-shaped folding position by connecting the tabs 20, 25 with the side walls 19, 24. In this sleeve-shaped folding position, the outer pack 12 can be folded flat and fed to a packaging machine. In their area then the outer pack 12 is erected. In particular, via the (upper) end face of the package contents (inner pack 13) can be introduced.

In the packaging machine, a unit of package contents (cigarette block 11) and inner package 13 is separately prepared. This is folded in a U-shape around the cigarette block 11 with subsequent production of the bottom wall 35 by folding the bottom flaps 36, 37, 38; 50, 51, 52 and connecting the floor cloths by means of glue. This unit is then inserted into the outer package 12 and connected to this. Thereafter, the Stirniappen 30, 31 are folded and connected together. The manufacturing and unification process can occur in continuous transport, analogous to WO 03/045783 ,

Claims (9)

1. Cigarette pack comprising an outer pack (12) and an inner pack (13), it being the case that the outer pack (12) comprises a box part (14) and a lid (15) connected in a pivotable manner thereto, and that the outer pack (12) has arranged in it the inner pack (13), which comprises a separate blank and has at least one upright inner wall and at least one base flap (36, 37, 38; 50, 51, 52) for forming a base wall (35) of the pack, that the inner wall butts against a wall of the box part (14), and that the inner pack (13) serves as a collar and has a top sub-region projecting out of the box part (14) of the outer pack (12), characterized by the following features:

   a) the box part (14) has just a box front wall (16), a box rear wall (17) and two mutually opposite box side walls (18, 19),

   b) the region of upright collar edges (43) of the inner pack (13) contains tongues (44) which are formed by U-shaped or C-shaped punchings and butt against the inside of a lid wall (21, 23) located opposite to a linear articulation (28) of the lid.

Cigarette pack according to Claim 1, characterized in that the inner pack (13) encloses pack contents, and/or butts against the box part (14), on at least three sides, in particular by way of an inner front wall (32), an inner rear wall (33) and an inner side wall (34) or by way of an inner front wall (46) and two inner side walls (47, 48), the inner pack (13) having a U-shaped cross section in the folded state.
3. Cigarette pack according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that a base wall (35) formed by the inner pack (13) comprises at least one base flap (36, 37), which is arranged on the inner front wall (32, 46) or inner rear wall (33), and at least one base flap (38) or corner flaps (51, 52), arranged on an inner side wall (34; 47, 48), the folding flaps of the base wall (35) being connected to one another by adhesive bonding.
4. Cigarette pack according to Claim 1 or one of the further claims, characterized in that an end wall (29) of the lid (15), as part of the outer pack (12), comprises at least two end flaps (30, 31) which are connected to the lid front wall (21), on the one hand, and lid rear wall (22), on the other hand.

Cigarette pack according to Claim 3 or one of the further claims, characterized in that the base wall (35) has a base flap (50), which is connected to the inner front wall (46) or inner rear wall (33), and a connection flap (53), for connection to the box front wall (16) or box rear wall (17) by means of glue.

Cigarette pack according to Claim 1 or one of the further claims, characterized in that the lid (15) is connected to the box part (14) via a transversely directed linear articulation (28), the linear articulation (28) extending in the region of a narrow, upright side wall of the pack, namely in the region of the box side wall (19) and of the lid side wall (24).
7. Cigarette pack according to Claim 6 or one of the further claims, characterized in that, until the box is opened for the first time, the lid (15) is delimited from the box part (14) by a weakening line, in particular by punch lines (26) and residual connections (27) which, starting from ends of the linear articulation (28) in the region of the box front wall (16) and lid front wall (21), on the one hand, and box rear wall (17) and lid rear wall (22), on the other hand, extend obliquely downwards to the box side wall (18) and lid side wall (23) on the side opposite to the linear articulation (28), the box side wall (18) and lid side wall (23) being delimited from one another by a transversely directed weakening line.
8. Cigarette pack according to Claim 1 or one of the further claims, characterized in that, in the part which projects out of the box part (14), the inner pack (13) has a depression (39) which extends exclusively in the region of an inner side wall (34) of the inner pack (13) and adjacent regions of the inner front wall (32) and inner rear wall (33) or in the region of an inner front wall (46) of the inner pack (13).
9. Cigarette pack according to Claim 1 or one of the further claims, characterized in that the outer pack (12) comprises a transversely foldable single-piece blank, the box part (14) and lid (15) being delimited from one another by a weakening line, namely by punch lines (26) in conjunction with residual connections (27).
