Ohne derartige Dichtelemente ist es nicht auszuschließen, dass Spülflüssigkeit in den Bereich der Spindelausnehmung eindringen kann. Es ist daher nach der Erfindung zweckmäßig, dass in Seitenbereichen des Grundkörpers Seitenöffnungen eingebracht sind. Der Aufbau einer erfindungsgemäßen Spanneinrichtung 10 wird in Zusammenhang mit den Figuren 1 und 2 erläutert. An einem im Querschnitt U-förmigen Grundkörper 12 mit zwei Seitenwänden 22 ist an einem Ende eine erste Spannbacke 14 mittels Schrauben lösbar befestigt. Der Grundkörper 12 weist entlang seiner Länge eine zu seiner Oberseite 18 hin offene Spindelausnehmung 20 auf. Innerhalb der Spindelausnehmung 20 ist ein Schlitten 30 axial verschiebbar gelagert, welcher an seiner Oberseite eine zweite Spannbacke 16 aufweist. Entlang der gesamten Länge der Spindelausnehmung 20 erstreckt sich eine Schraubspindel 40, welche den Schlitten 30 durchdringt. Mittels einer Spindelbetätigung 46, welche insbesondere eine Handkurbel 48 aufweisen kann, kann die Spindel 40 gedreht werden, um den Schlitten 30 und damit die zweite Spannbacke 16 gegenüber der ersten Spannbacke 14 axial zu verstellen.
