Abstract

An outdoor unit of an air conditioner, comprising a heat sink (10) for cooling an electrical part (C2) with large heating value projected from the side plate of an electric part box (9) installed in a machine room (4) in a casing (1), a cooling duct (12) installed along the side plate to cover the heat sink (10), having opening parts (12a) and (12b) in a horizontal partitioning plate (2) and a casing bottom plate, leading outside air from the opening part (12b) in the casing bottom plate therein according to the operation of a blower (6) to heat-exchange the outside air with the heat sink (10), and then leading the heat-exchanged air from the opening (12a) in the horizontal partitioning plate to the outside thereof, and a vent hole (13) formed in the side plate of the electric part box (9), leading the air in the electric part box (9) therein, and exhausting the air into the cooling duct (12).
