Definitions

  • the invention relates to a microtiter plate.
  • Microtiter plates are used in particular for a variety of microbiological, cell culture and immunological operations.
  • microtiter plates find application in PCR and the growth of microorganisms or cells.
  • Known are microtiter plates having a frame with a plurality of vessels for receiving sample liquid.
  • the vessels are also referred to as "wells". They are for example formed as depressions in an overall plate-shaped frame.
  • the frame has a plate to which the vessels are connected. They have an opening at the top of the plate and protrude from the bottom of the plate.
  • the frame may have a circumferential jacket which also protrudes from the underside of the plate.
  • Microtiter plates in the sense of this application are in particular microtiter plates according to the recommendations of the SBS (Society for Biomolecular Screening), PCR plates, deepwell plates, culture plates, filter plates etc.
  • SBS Society for Biomolecular Screening
  • microtiter plates are already provided with vessel markings for the identification of the vessels.
  • a column with letters on the top of the frame are arranged above the arranged in parallel rows and columns a series with numbers and left and / or right of the vessels. If the numbers and letters are only embossed, they only stand out from the ground with little contrast and are difficult to read.
  • microtiter plates with printed numbers and letters This marking is washable and not lightfast. This also applies to printed barcodes used to identify microtiter plates. Sticked barcodes can come off.
  • the microtiter plate has in a substrate a plurality of receptacles comprising a bottom and an upstanding wall formed by receiving separate zones.
  • the soil and separation zones with the upstanding surfaces have different hydrophilic properties and the soils are surface treated to improve the dynamics of liquid spreading.
  • the receptacles have a hydrophilic bottom and are separated from each other by hydrophobic separation zones and upstanding surfaces.
  • the soil is particularly well wetted by aqueous solutions.
  • the receptacles have a hydrophobic bottom and are separated from each other by hydrophilic separation zones and raised surfaces.
  • the soil is particularly well wetted by organic solutions.
  • each recording can be filled with a liquid volume exceeding its volume. This allows particularly thin microtiter plates.
  • a hydrophobic layer is applied to a hydrophilic substrate, and then patternwise removed the hydrophobic layer to produce images of a hydrophilic bottom.
  • a further production method is specified to apply pattern-like hydrophobic separation zones and high-standing surfaces on a hydrophilic substrate.
  • a heat-sensitive material comprising a support and a hydrophobic layer coated thereon and a hydrophilic layer coated thereon are used.
  • the superimposed hydrophilic layer is pattern-removed, so that recordings with a hydrophobic base and hydrophilic, upstanding surfaces, which are separated from each other by hydrophilic separation zones arise.
  • the hydrophobic layer may be the substrate of the microtiter plate itself or a layer applied to a carrier. Thus, when the hydrophobic layer is the substrate of the microtiter plate, it replaces the carrier with the hydrophobic layer applied thereon.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a microtiter plate which allows labeling with better application properties.
  • microtiter plate with the features of claim 1.
  • Advantageous embodiments of the microtiter plate are specified in the subclaims.
  • the microtiter plate according to the invention is produced from at least two plastics.
  • At least one laser-inscribable plastic is used for the frame or at least a portion of the frame.
  • This can be a plastic that is basically laser-inscribable or laser-inscribable by the addition of additive (s).
  • the frame or at least a portion of the frame is laser markable.
  • another plastic is used, which can be chosen in particular with regard to its suitability for the operations to be carried out with the microtiter plate operations. This in particular with a view to avoiding unwanted interactions with samples to be filled into the vessels.
  • the laser-writable plastic does not affect the samples because it is limited to the frame. If the microtiter plate were made entirely of a laser-inscribable plastic, interference with the analysis or other treatment of the samples by the laser-inscribable plastic or components thereof could not be ruled out.
  • the laser marking of the microtiter plate is readable even under unfavorable viewing angles and in low light. It is also recognizable by a thin layer of ice or frost. It is not washable, not destructible by solvents and lightfast. An individual laser inscription of individual microtiter plates is possible. Furthermore, the laser marking can be attached with high precision.
  • the microtiter plate is relatively easy to produce in the multi-component injection molding process.
  • the production takes place in Kemschreibzugsmaschine, which is cheaper than other multi-component injection molding, in particular cheaper than the Umsetzverfabren.
  • the frame has a plate in which the vessels are formed or with which the vessels are connected.
  • the vessels lining layers are made of a plastic other than the laser-inscribable plastic.
  • vessels made of the other plastic which are connected only at their upper edge region with the plate and protrude beyond the underside of the plate.
  • the plate moreover, in total or in at least one area of the laser-inscribable plastic. This makes it possible, in particular, for the laser inscription on the top that is particularly visible when the microtiter plate is used.
  • a region of the plate which surrounds all of the vessels in the manner of a frame is produced as a whole or in at least one region from the laser-inscribable plastic.
  • On the area framing the vessels is e.g. a vessel identification and / or an individual plate marking and / or a manufacturer identification and / or a label by the user easily visible attachable.
  • a jacket of the frame surrounding the plate as a whole or in at least one region consists of a laser-inscribable plastic. On the jacket is e.g. an individual plate marking attachable.
  • an upper layer of the frame as a whole or in at least one region consists of the laser-inscribable plastic.
  • the laser marking on the outside of the frame is clearly visible attachable.
  • the underlying layer of the frame may be made of a plastic which is advantageous, for example, in terms of connection to the vessels or in terms of stability. In particular, this plastic may be the same plastic as the plastic for the vessels.
  • the vessels, a central region of the plate connected to the vessels, the shell and the central region with the jacket connecting webs of the same plastic and a region of the frame disposed between the central region of the plate and the shell all or part of the laser-inscribable plastic can be ordered in a two-component injection molding process. It is particularly suitable for production in the cost-effective core retraction process.
  • the laser-inscribable plastic has a different color than non-laser inscribable areas of the frame and / or the vessels. This allows optical highlighting of the laser marking, which facilitates their attachment and readability.
  • the microtiter plate comprises a plurality of regions of laser-inscribable plastic with different colors. The areas of different colors can be used to identify different operations.
  • the laser inscription has a different color than the laser inscribable having laser writable area. According to an embodiment which further improves the readability, the laser inscription has a different color than the non-laser inscribable regions of the frame and / or the vessels.
  • the laser-inscribable plastic has an adhesive connection and / or a connection via undercuts and / or a latching connection with adjacent regions of the frame and / or the vessels.
  • the adhesive bond is made according to a further embodiment by fusing different plastics or by connecting different plastics by means of adhesive. When manufactured in multi-component injection molding process management is possible in such a way that the different plastics merge together at the contact points.
  • the connection via undercuts and the latching connection is advantageous, for example, for the connection of plastics, between which no adhesive bond or only one adhesive bond of low loadability can be produced.
  • the laser-inscribable plastic can be laser-marked by color change and / or carbonization and / or foaming and / or material removal.
  • the laser inscribability by color change is given according to a further embodiment by a laser-inscribable plastic comprising a base material with a laser additive.
  • the base material preferably corresponds substantially to the plastic non-laser-inscribable areas of the frame and / or with the plastic of the vessels. As a result, an adhesive bond between the different plastics is favored.
  • the base material of the laser-inscribable plastic is PP (polypropylene) or PS (polystyrene) or another thermoplastic or thermoplastic elastomer.
  • PP and PS designed vessels are suitable for many applications. Therefore, their use as a base material is particularly advantageous.
  • the laser-writable by color change plastic PC polycarbonate
  • PVC polyvinyl chloride
  • the plastic is not laser-inscribable areas of the frame and / or the vessels PP, PS, PC, PVC or another thermoplastic or thermoplastic elastomer.
  • PP, PS, PC or PVC containers are suitable for many applications. According to the above, they can be advantageously combined with a suitably designed base material of the laser-inscribable plastic.
  • the vessels are at least partially made of a transparent plastic.
  • the transparent plastic is particularly advantageous for performing optical measurements of samples in the vessels.
  • the microtiter plate has at least one laser inscription.
  • the laser marking is present in at least one laser-writable area, e.g. introduced by the manufacturer of the microtiter plate or by the user.
  • the laser inscription can be designed in many ways. According to one embodiment, it is a vessel identification with a number series and a letter series for identification of each vessel of the microtiter plate and / or a plate identification for identification of the entire microtiter plate and / or a manufacturer identification and / or a location identifier for identifying the orientation of the microtiter plate.
  • the microtiter plate has the position identification at a corner of the frame.
  • the location marking can be easily introduced by the manufacturer or the customer according to specific customer requirements.
  • the numbers of the vessel identification are present on one side of a region of the frame surrounding the central region of the frame and the letters of the vessel identification on a side of the frame which surrounds the central region in a frame-like manner.
  • the plate identification is a barcode.
  • the microtiter plate can be manufactured as a complete product in the clean room. There is no risk of contamination of purchased components, such as when using adhesive labels.
  • the laser inscription is losier- and manipulation-proof. It is as resistant to aging as the microtiter plate itself.
  • the laser inscription can be formed without restriction on the plate edges.
  • a circumferential edge e.g. serves for the sealing application of a sealing film.
  • annular projecting from the openings of the vessel collar which also serve the sealing pads of a sealing film.
  • the positionability is better than with the foil rear spraying and pad printing. Splashed labels are also very accurate.
  • the type of coating can be applied in a visible and easy to read manner. Coating parameters, coating data (e.g., expiration date) may be subsequently noted by laser inscription on the plate.
  • the user can at any time subsequently write information to the disk.
  • These are just as captive, rich in contrast, etc. as attached by the manufacturer of the microtiter plate information.
  • the contrast to the laser inscription can be increased. Different colors of the frames or areas of the frames can be used by the user for different operations in the sample treatment.
  • Laser marking makes it possible to switch from light to dark and from dark to light.
  • a microtiter plate 1 consists of a frame 2 with a substantially rectangular, flat plate 3 and four of the four sides of the plate 3 approximately vertically downwardly directed side walls 4, 5, 6, 7, which form a total of a jacket 8.
  • the plates 3 With the plate 3, a plurality of tubular vessels 9 are connected.
  • the vessels 9 are connected at their upper edge to the plate 3. They each have in the plane of the plate 3 from the top accessible opening 10. Furthermore, they have a below the plate 3 downwardly projecting receptacle 11, which is closed at the bottom by a bottom.
  • the vessels 9 are arranged in a central region 12 of the plate 3 in eight rows and twelve columns. A total of 96 vessels 9 are available.
  • a region 13 of the plate 3 which surrounds the central region 12 in a frame-like manner has, on one side next to the rows, numerals 14 (from 1 to 12) and on one side next to the columns letters 15 (from A to H) for the identification of the vessels 9 Region 13 at the corner, which is adjacent to the vessel 9 marked with A1, a position identification 16.
  • Fig. 2 In a first manufacturing step, the central region 12 with the vessels 9, the jacket 8 and the central region 12 and the jacket 8 are joined together to form webs 18. Instead of the central region 12, the webs 18 may be connected to vessels 9.
