Claims (5)

  1. Voltage converter for electrically powered railway tractive units or the like, having a pressure-resistant housing (1) which is provided on its upper face with a pressure-relief device (2, 3) characterized in that a further pressure-relief device (9) is provided in the lower area of the housing (1) and allows pressurized gases to escape in lateral directions or upwards, in that the further pressure-relief device (9) has a pressure-relief channel (5) which leads away from the housing (1) at the side and has a pressure-relief valve (9), with the pressure-relief channel (5) being formed into a side housing projection (7) and extending in the interior of the housing (1) to below the housing centre (6).
  2. Voltage converter according to Claim 1, characterized in that the pressure-relief valve (9) is in the form of a spring-loaded pressure-relief cover (10) on a mouth opening (8) of the pressure-relief channel (5).
  3. Voltage converter according to Claim 2, characterized in that the pressure-relief cover (10) is connected by bolts (11) that are loaded by compression springs to a cover mount (13), and are kept in contact by spring force with a sealing surface (12) which surrounds the mouth opening (8) of the pressure-relief channel (5).
  4. Voltage converter according to Claim 3, characterized in that the bolts (11) project into the pressure-relief channel (5), and compression springs (15) are arranged in the interior on the bolts (11).
  5. Voltage converter according to Claim 1, characterized in that the pressure-relief valve is in the form of a bursting disc.
