Abstract

The invention is characterized in that the focus point of the used laser beam is located on a plane which is different from that of the surface of the stopper. Es besteht somit ein Bedarf an einem Verfahren zu Herstellung eines Korkbrandes auf einem Propfen aus geschäumtem thermoplastischem Kunststoff, vorzugsweise Poly- ethylen, durch das zuverlässig und mit hoher Reproduzierbarkeit Propfen mit Korkbrand geschaffen werden, die sowohl von ihrer Funktionsfähigkeit als auch von ihrem Erscheinungsbild her zufriedenstellende Eigenschaft aufweisen. Dabei sollen diese Resultate zuverlässig reproduzierbar und mit geringem Ausschuß an Propfen durchzuführen sein. Erfindungsgemäß werden diese Ziele dadurch erreicht, dass der verwendete Laserstrahl nicht auf die Oberfläche des Propfens fokussiert wird, sondern defokussiert eingesetzt wird, wodurch eine größere Fläche mit geringerer Energiedichte als beim fokussierten Strahl getroffen wird. Nach einer Ausgestaltung der Erfindung liegt der Fokuspunkt in einer Ebene, in Richtung des Laserstrahls gesehen, vor der Oberfläche des Propfens.
