Definitions
- the object of the invention relates to the technical field of devices usually called speed bumps and arranged on a roadway to slow down the vehicles circulating there.
- retarders are known in the state of the art. Thus, it is known to achieve transversely with respect to the direction of movement, an obstacle in the form of a raised plateau connected to the roadway by crawling upstream and downstream. This type of retarder is made in situ from various materials including cobblestones and asphalt shaped to constitute an obstacle.
- the document FR 2 590 602 describes a humpback type speed reducer made from slabs wedged between them.
- the slabs are wedged at each end of the retarder, by a transverse edge formed of prefabricated concrete sections.
- retarders have a major disadvantage, especially for public transport to the extent that the crossing of such obstacles harms the comfort of passengers.
- the retarders are obstacles extending transversely to the road, which is a real danger for two-wheeled vehicles.
- in situ speed bumps is a relatively long and delicate work to carry out, requiring to close the road to traffic.
- the passage of vehicles on a slab-based retarder is able to lead to relative movements between the slabs, which requires a repair operation.
- the Patent FR 2 772 401a proposed a slowing device constituted in the form of a block having an upper plate having a width on the one hand, greater than the wheelbase or the track width of a first type of vehicles such as passenger vehicles and on the other hand, lower than the wheelbase or track width of a second type of vehicle such as trucks or public transport.
- This upper plate has a height relative to the plane of extension less than the ground clearance of second type vehicles.
- This retarder block is also equipped with two lateral crawlers extending from both sides of the upper plate and from the latter to the extension plane.
- Such a retarder device gives complete satisfaction. However, it has been found under particular conditions of use and / or in abnormal implantation conditions, the appearance of cracks on the surface of the retarder block, which, in the long term, may alter its integrity.
- the present invention therefore aims to provide a durable retarder device over time, regardless of its conditions of installation and use, designed to provide a vehicle slowdown function while maintaining passenger comfort for public transport vehicles , while being adapted to be put in place relatively easily and quickly on a traffic pavement.
- the object of the invention relates to a retarder block for vehicles traveling on a traffic pavement, comprising an upper plate extending parallel to a lower face and in a plane projecting from a plane of extension intended to be established at the level of the traffic carriageway, the upper plateau being bordered, according to the direction of circulation of the vehicles, by upstream and downstream rampants extending to the extension plane and delimited respectively by edges attack and flight.
- the retarder block comprises at least one bearing heel protruding from the underside and the leading edge, over a limited length taken into consideration the direction of flow.
- the support heel extends over a length of between 15 and 35 cm and preferably substantially equal to 25 cm.
- the support heel is connected to the lower face, on the opposite side to the leading edge, by a connecting chamfer.
- the support heel has with respect to the lower face a height of between 3 and 10 cm and preferably substantially equal to 5 cm.
- the connecting chamfer extends over a length taken into consideration of the direction of flow, substantially equal to 5 cm.
- the block advantageously comprises a sole intended to be embedded in the traffic lane, and having a height between the underside and the plane of extension, between 5 and 15 cm and preferably substantially equal to 10 cm.
- the retarder block also comprises a bearing lug projecting from the underside and the trailing edge, over a limited length taken into consideration of the direction of circulation, between 15 and 35 cm and preferably substantially equal to 25 cm.
- the retarder block comprises two lateral crawlers extending on either side of the upper plate and from the latter to the extension plane, each lateral crawler being connected to an upstream or downstream crawler along a bisecting edge. .
- each lateral crawler has a width of between 30 and 40 cm and preferably substantially equal to 35 cm and in that each creep upstream or downstream has a length of between 40 and 50 cm and preferably substantially equal to 45 cm. cm.
- the retarder block has a length of between 250 and 350 cm and preferably substantially equal to 300 cm.
- the retarder block is equipped with means ensuring its handling.
- the retarder block is made of reinforced concrete.
- the Fig. 1 is a top view of a retarder device according to the invention.
- the Fig. 2 is a view in longitudinal section taken substantially along the lines II-II of the Fig. 1 .
- the object of the invention relates to a device 1 designed to slow down vehicles traveling on a roadway 2 of traffic in the general sense.
- the retarder device 1 is constituted in the form of at least one compact or unit block advantageously made of reinforced concrete.
- the retarder block 1 has an upper plate 3 extending in a plane P salient with respect to an extension plane E intended to be established at the level of the traffic pavement 2 .
- the height H taken between the projecting plane P and the extension plane E has a value substantially equal to 7 cm.
- the retarder block 1 comprises, with respect to the direction of circulation of the vehicles, for example represented by the arrow f, an upstream ramp 5 and a downstream ramp 6 extending between the projecting plane P and the extension plane E.
- the upstream and downstream crawling 5 6 are thus defined between the upper plate 3 and the edges respectively of attack of 5 1 and 6 1 of leakage.
- Each creeper upstream 5 and downstream 6 have a length L 1 of between 40 and 50 cm and preferably of the order of 45 cm.
- the length L 2 of the retarder block 1 including those of the plate 3 and crawlers upstream and downstream, is between 250 and 350 cm and preferably of the order of 300 cm.
- the upper plate 3 has in a direction perpendicular to the direction of circulation f , a width l 1 , on the one hand, greater than the track width of a first type of vehicle and, on the other hand, less than the track width of a second type of vehicle.
- the plate 3 thus has a width less than the track width of vehicles of the truck or public transport type, such as buses, and greater than the track width of passenger vehicles.
- the upper plate 3 has a width l 1 of between 110 and 120 cm and preferably of the order of 115 cm.
- the height H of the upper plate 3 is less than the ground clearance of vehicles of the second type, namely trucks or public transport.
- the retarder block 1 comprises two lateral rampants 8 extending on either side of the upper plate 3 , and from the latter to the extension plane E .
- Each lateral crawler 8 has a width l 2 of between 30 and 40 cm and preferably of the order of 35 cm.
- the lateral crawlers 8 are connected to the upstream crawlers 5 and downstream 6 along bisecting edges 9 , so that each crawler has, in top view, a trapezoidal shape.
- the retarder block 1 comprises a sole or a base 11 advantageously having a parallelepipedal shape between the extension plane E and its lower face 11 1 .
- the base 11 has a height H 1 adapted to be buried or encased in the traffic lane 2 .
- the height H 1 of the soleplate taken between the lower face 11 1 and the extension plane E that is to say at the junction edge between the crawlers and the edges of the sole 11 is between 5 and 15 cm and preferably substantially equal to 10 cm.
- the retarder block 1 is equipped with means 13 ensuring its handling.
- the means 13 are formed by means of handling sleeves made for example of stainless steel and put in place at the time of pouring the concrete. These sleeves present or allow the establishment of a ring for the introduction of handling slings.
- the handling means 13 consist of sockets located at the four corners of the upper plate 3 .
- the retarder block 1 advantageously constitutes a one-piece element produced by molding. However, it should be noted that the retarder block can be made in one or more parts mounted next to each other for certain specific applications.
- the retarder block 1 is intended to be placed by any appropriate handling means on a receiving bed 14 arranged in the roadway 2 according to the conventional rules of road construction.
- a mix 15 is then made around the block 1 to extend to the level of the extension plane E , that is to say to the base of the crawling or the junction edge between the crawling and the edges of the sole 11 .
- the sole 11 is thus buried, so that protrude above the level of the traffic pavement, the downstream, upstream and lateral rampants, as well as the upper plate 3 .
- the duration of the work for the implementation of such a device retarder can be reduced to one day.
- the retarder block 1 is thus implanted parallel to the direction f of the traffic, constituting an obstacle for passenger vehicles via the upper plate 3 , whose width l 1 is greater than the track width of this type of vehicle .
- the retarder block does not constitute an obstacle for public transport that does not roll on the upper plate 3 , given their track width greater than the width l 1 of the plate 3 .
- the public transport vehicles can thus roll on the lateral ramps 8 , rather to their outer longitudinal edges, without risk of touching the upper plate 3 , given the ground clearance of such vehicles which is greater than the height H of the block retarder.
- two-wheeled vehicles can roll on the side rails, rather to their outer longitudinal edges, so that such a block does not constitute a real obstacle or danger for this type of vehicle.
- the retarder block 1 comprises at least one support heel 20 projecting from the lower face 11 1 of the sole and the leading edge 5 1 on a length L 3 limited taken in consideration of the direction of traffic f .
- the bearing heel 20 extends over a length L 3 of between 15 and 35 cm and preferably substantially equal to 25 cm.
- the bearing heel 20 is connected to the lower face 11 1 , on the opposite side of the leading edge 5 1 , by a connecting chamfer 21.
- the connecting chamfer 21 extends over a length L 4 taken into consideration the direction of movement f substantially equal to 5 cm.
- the bearing heel 20 has with respect to the lower face 11 1 of the sole 11 , a height H 2 of between 3 and 10 cm and preferably substantially equal to 5 cm.
- a bearing heel 20 at the level of the upstream ramp 5 reinforces the retarder block while limiting the weight of such a block.
- the support heel promotes the anchoring of the retarder block in the roadway 2 .

Abstract
Description
The object of the invention relates to the technical field of devices usually called speed bumps and arranged on a roadway to slow down the vehicles circulating there.
Many embodiments of retarders are known in the state of the art. Thus, it is known to achieve transversely with respect to the direction of movement, an obstacle in the form of a raised plateau connected to the roadway by crawling upstream and downstream. This type of retarder is made in situ from various materials including cobblestones and asphalt shaped to constitute an obstacle.

Known retarders have a major disadvantage, especially for public transport to the extent that the crossing of such obstacles harms the comfort of passengers. In addition, the retarders are obstacles extending transversely to the road, which is a real danger for two-wheeled vehicles. In addition, the development of in situ speed bumps is a relatively long and delicate work to carry out, requiring to close the road to traffic. Finally, it should be considered that the passage of vehicles on a slab-based retarder is able to lead to relative movements between the slabs, which requires a repair operation.
Such a retarder device gives complete satisfaction. However, it has been found under particular conditions of use and / or in abnormal implantation conditions, the appearance of cracks on the surface of the retarder block, which, in the long term, may alter its integrity.
The present invention therefore aims to provide a durable retarder device over time, regardless of its conditions of installation and use, designed to provide a vehicle slowdown function while maintaining passenger comfort for public transport vehicles , while being adapted to be put in place relatively easily and quickly on a traffic pavement.
To achieve these objectives, the object of the invention relates to a retarder block for vehicles traveling on a traffic pavement, comprising an upper plate extending parallel to a lower face and in a plane projecting from a plane of extension intended to be established at the level of the traffic carriageway, the upper plateau being bordered, according to the direction of circulation of the vehicles, by upstream and downstream rampants extending to the extension plane and delimited respectively by edges attack and flight.

Advantageously, the retarder block comprises two lateral crawlers extending on either side of the upper plate and from the latter to the extension plane, each lateral crawler being connected to an upstream or downstream crawler along a bisecting edge. .
- a width between 110 and 120 cm and preferably substantially equal to 115 cm, greater than the track width of a first type of vehicle and, on the other hand, less than the track width of a second type of vehicle,

The retarder block 1 has an
According to another advantageous characteristic of the invention, the
According to another characteristic of the invention, the retarder block 1 according to the invention comprises two
According to another characteristic of the invention, the retarder block 1 is equipped with
The retarder block 1 advantageously constitutes a one-piece element produced by molding. However, it should be noted that the retarder block can be made in one or more parts mounted next to each other for certain specific applications. In a conventional manner, the retarder block 1 is intended to be placed by any appropriate handling means on a receiving
The retarder block 1 is thus implanted parallel to the direction f of the traffic, constituting an obstacle for passenger vehicles via the
According to the invention, the retarder block 1 comprises at least one
The implementation of a bearing
The invention is not limited to the examples described and shown because various modifications can be made without departing from its scope.
