Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a change display device for traffic signs.
  • Such change display devices are used to perform traffic calming in certain sections of the road network or to provide the driver with other important traffic-related information.
  • One form of these change display devices usually consists of a plurality of juxtaposed and rotatably mounted elements, each outwardly facing side surfaces together provide the representation of the desired traffic sign.
  • One common form of these change display devices utilizes prism elements having three side surfaces, the width and length of the side surfaces being variable.
  • a DC gear motor drives a transverse to the prism elements arranged drive shaft, which in turn causes via suitable translations, the rotation of the prism elements in the desired position.
  • the prism elements should in this case be turned into a predetermined position.
  • an uninterruptible power supply has been used, which supplies the engine at any time with enough power to ensure rotation of the prism elements in the predetermined position.
  • uninterruptible power supplies are expensive and prone to failure.
  • the present invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide a change display device for traffic signs with prism elements, which reliably resets in the event of power failure in a predetermined position and at the same time provides a cost-effective compared to known restoring solution.
  • the return device is designed as a mechanical energy storage, it is ensured that in case of power failure regardless of the position of the prism elements at any time an extremely reliable reset the change indicator takes place, in addition, a cost advantage is achieved.
  • the restoring device has a chain connected to the drive shaft acting sprocket, which is operatively connected to a roller chain, which in turn is connected via a driver attached to it with a lever device which is traceable in power failure by means of a spring assembly in a predetermined position.
  • the sprocket is connected to the drive shaft via two bevel gears, whereby a simple mechanical power transmission is made possible.
  • the motor is connected to the drive shaft via two bevel gears, and attached to the drive shaft bevel is slidably formed and is acted upon by a compression spring in the direction of a disengaged state, so that there is a possibility of simple decoupling of motor and drive shaft in case of power failure.
  • a solenoid is provided which attracts a longitudinally displaceable rod with intact power supply, to which an engagement element for engaging the displaceable bevel gear is attached.
  • the lever device comprises a deflecting bar which is movably connected at one end to the driver and at the other end with a biasing lever, and that the biasing lever is movably connected at its opposite end to a reset lever, a mechanical construction is provided which ensures particularly reliable reset the change indicator.
  • the spring assembly comprises a tension spring which is connected to the return lever.
  • the return device comprises a tiltable positioning, which preferably consists of a flat sheet and two PVC bolts arranged thereon, between which the deflection bar is guided, so that the deflection bar on reaching a desired end position between the two bolts is clamped by tilting of the positioning.
  • a pull rod connected to the upper end of the reset lever and having two adjustable longitudinal stops is displaceably guided in an eyelet of the positioning element.
  • the return device In order to prevent a jerky return, the return device also has a gas spring, which preferably acts on the return lever.
  • the change display device has a locking device for the return lever, which is initiated at maximum deflection of the same. This ensures that after a single maximum elongation of the tension spring, the movement of the prism elements without overcoming the spring force, so that wear is prevented.
  • Fig. 1 shows an inventive change display device 1 for traffic signs in front view.
  • Such change display devices 1 consist of a housing 3, in which a plurality of rotatable display elements 5 are arranged.
  • the field of view for displaying a traffic sign consists of eight longitudinal display elements 5, which together display one of a plurality of possible traffic signs with their respective outward-facing display areas.
  • the display elements 5 are in this case designed, for example, as prism-shaped elements with three display surfaces.
  • the side length of a prism element 5 and its width is variable, with a standard in 100 mm Prismentechnik is executed.
  • a DC geared motor (not shown) drives the prism elements 5 to produce a modified display.
  • the motor is controlled either automatically via a suitable computer system on the basis of signals that are supplied by appropriate sensors for traffic density, humidity, etc., or by manual control, preferably by radio or via mobile phone, such as by means of a in the Change display device built-in receiving unit, which can also process SMS, for example. It is also conceivable any other suitable configuration and arrangement of the prism elements.
  • the prism elements 5 are supported by a shaft extension 7 at both ends in the axial center.
  • the bearing is made by ball bearings or consists only of a hole in the bearing plate 9.
  • worm wheels 11 are plugged and pinned.
  • a drive shaft 12 is arranged transversely to the prism elements 5 and mounted on their total length several times by screwed onto the support plate 9 bearing blocks (not shown).
  • individual screws 14 are fixed, which engage in the worm gears 11 at the locations where the drive shaft 12 intersects with the shaft extensions 7 of the prism elements 5 and rotate them when the drive shaft 12 rotates.
  • the rotational movement of the drive shaft 12 in a picture change is transmitted via a bevel gear 30 which may be attached to one end of the drive shaft, and via a further bevel gear 32 which is fixed to an intermediate shaft 34, to a sprocket 36, the starting point of the mechanical return device is explained below.
  • Fig. 4 shows a plan view of the detail of Fig. 2, but in the disengaged state of the bevel gear 20, i. in case of power failure.
  • the rod 24 has moved in the absence of attraction by the solenoid 26 due to the spring force of the return spring 28 in the direction of the disengaged position. This ensures that in case of power failure, no connection between the motor and drive shaft 12 exists, which could block a mechanical provision of the prism elements 5.
  • FIG. 6 shows the basic state when the change-over display device 1 is not activated.
  • the rear wall 38 of the housing of the change display device 1 shown here forms the rear end thereof, so that prism elements 5, bearing plates 9 and the trough-shaped sheet metal rear wall 38 form a compact chassis.
  • prism elements 5, bearing plates 9 and the trough-shaped sheet metal rear wall 38 form a compact chassis.
  • the driven by the intermediate shaft 34 sprocket 36 is in the illustrated example case about 20 mm beyond the rear wall 38 and drives by means of a roller chain 42, a second passive sprocket 44 at.
  • the roller chain 42 is hereby clearly defined in terms of its length in relation to the number of teeth of the sprockets 36, 44.
  • a driving pin 46 is mounted, which rotates in operation together with the roller chain 42.
  • the driver 46 describes due to the construction of the roller chain 42, for example at three times image change a full loop rotation of the roller chain 42. This means that the driver 46 is again after three image changes at its starting point.
  • the side surface of the prism elements 5 displayed in this state is at the same time the display symbol in the event of a power failure.
  • Fig. 7 describes the position of the driver 46 in the case of the second traffic sign display of the change display device 1, in which he has covered about 70% of the way to the second Lssensbewegstot Vietnamese.
  • Fig. 8 describes the position at the second Leksbewegstot Vietnamese where the prism elements 5 are located between the second and third traffic signs to be displayed, and
  • Fig. 9 shows the position of the driver 46 in the case of the third of the possible traffic signs, where he is about 30% of the way Has overflowed the second Leksbewegstot Vietnameses back in the direction of the driven sprocket 44.
  • the driver 46 is connected to a lever device 47.
  • This comprises a deflecting rod 48 movably connected to the driver 46, which in turn is movably connected to a biasing lever 50 at the other end.
  • the deflection bar 48 tows the pretensioning lever 50 behind it.
  • the pretensioning lever 50 thus describes a continuous reciprocating movement.
  • the biasing lever 50 is movably connected at its lower end to a reset lever 52. Now runs the driver 46 from its starting point (Leksschulskowskistot Vietnamese the driven sprocket 44) going on, then the biasing lever 50 tows the return lever 52 with it.
  • This biases a spring arrangement 54 in the present case designed as a tension spring, which serves to reset in the event of a power failure.
  • a suitable locking mechanism 55 At a maximum deflection of the reset lever 52 (in the present example, in the position of FIG. 8) this is held by a suitable locking mechanism 55, whereby at the same time the tension spring 54 is held in a tensioned state.
  • the change display device 1 may thus be in several positions. Regardless of this, a secure, automatic mechanical reset is ensured by the present design. In the following, the respective provision is explained at different positions of the change display device 1.
  • the power of the lifting magnet 26 drops in the event of a power failure. Due to the spring force of the return spring 28, the bevel gear 20 is displaced along the drive shaft 12 until it is in disengaged position to the bevel gear 18. During this disengagement, the engagement plate 22 and the rod 24 are simultaneously displaced in the axial direction.
  • a follower pin 58 may be arranged on the rod 24, the axial movement of which releases the locking device 55 in the event of a power failure, preferably via a tilting release lever 60.
  • the driver 46 is already at the longitudinal movement dead center of the driven sprocket 44 and is therefore not moved.
  • the driver 46 is brought about the movement of the driven by the tension spring 54 reset lever 52, the biasing lever 50 and the deflection bar 48 in the forward direction in the starting position. Since the roller chain 42 is connected via the sprocket 36, intermediate shaft 34 and the bevel gears 32, 30 with the drive shaft 12 and thus the rotation mechanism of the prism elements 5, the prism elements 5 according to the movement of the driver 46 rotate back and forth on the output traffic sign ,
  • the deflection bar 48 is formed by a positioning member 62 which is formed, for example, as a flat positioning plate with two PVC bolts, in a predetermined position of constraint.
  • the positioning element 62 is arranged tiltably and its tilting movement is controlled by a pull rod 64, which runs at a lower vertex of the sheet 62 through a rotatable eye 66 arranged there.
  • a pull rod 64 which runs at a lower vertex of the sheet 62 through a rotatable eye 66 arranged there.
  • two adjustable longitudinal stops 68 are arranged, which each cause a tilting of the positioning member 62 when hitting the eyelet 66.
  • One end of the pull rod 64 is free to move while the opposite end is rotatably secured to the upper end portion of the reset lever 52.
  • the time is defined in which the first longitudinal stop 68 meets the eyelet 66 and thus tilts the positioning plate 62, whereby the deflection bar 48 is braced.
  • the tension of the deflection bar 48 can also be supported by means of a compression spring 70 which is arranged between the first longitudinal stop 68 and the eye 66.
  • the present invention is not limited to the embodiment described in detail.
  • a pneumatic pressure accumulator or a device storing potential energy could also be used.
  • the geometric configuration of the lever device 47 can be varied.
  • a roller chain e.g. Also every other circulating, closed band can be used.
