Definitions
- the invention relates to a one-piece personal protective suit for protection against chemical, bacteriological and / or radioactive media, which is connectable via a connecting line with an air supply unit.
- Such one-piece protective suits are made of, for example WO 01/41873 known. They consist of a coverall-like suit made of a flexible material and comprise a hood forming the breathing mask head part, which is closed on the front side by a Visierianos window.
- the air supply of the person to be protected is carried out either by means of bottled air or by means of portable blower whose suction side is connected to a filter port and the pressure side via a connecting line to the interior of the protective suit.
- the air flow is blown through a corresponding, arranged at the back of the protective suit connection in the protective suit and enters the hood-shaped head part.
- the injected air creates an overpressure throughout the protective suit, which prevents the ingress of toxins even in the event of any leaks in the suit.
- the entire head part is made helmet-like by means of stiffening elements or the overpressure in the protective suit is chosen so that the air flow inflates the head part into a deployed state.
- the invention has for its object to provide a personal protective suit, in whose intended use smaller amounts of air can be injected into the suit, as this is required for comparable known protective suits.
- the invention is based essentially on the idea of double-walled form the hood-shaped head part at least in some areas and to use the resulting gap as an air duct, which specifically supplies the fresh air needed for breathing the facial area of the person to be protected.
- the air duct is connected via a connecting line to the air supply unit and has in the facial area of the person to be protected on air outlet openings, via which the fresh air preferably exits above or laterally from the face.
- the inflated hooded head portion therefore forms in conjunction with the visor-like, e.g. window made of a plastic plate a self-supporting headboard, within which the head of the person to be protected is preferably freely movable.
- the inner and the outer hood are connected to each other such that at least three substantially mutually parallel air channels emerge, which extend from the back of the head above the skull of the person to be protected and end at the air outlet openings ,
- the personal protective suit according to the invention has proven itself especially in protective suits that can be used once, because the hood system can be produced very inexpensively and thus the price of the personal protective suit according to the invention can be kept low compared with known disposable suits.
- a mechanical connection for the detachable connection of the head part to the connecting line of the air supply unit should be provided on the hood-shaped head part in order to be able to use the air supply unit several times.
- 100 designates a personal protection suit according to the invention, in which a person 2 to be protected (FIG. 2) is located.
- the protective suit 100 comprises a hood-shaped head part 1, which via a hose 11 with a worn over the suit Blower unit 102 is connected.
- the blower unit 102 sucks in air from the surrounding space via a filter 103.
- the hood-shaped head part 1 is at the front through a sight-like window 3, e.g. Made of a anti-fog resistant plastic, sealed.
- the hood-shaped head part 1 is double-walled (Figure 2), such that an inner hood 4 and an outer hood 5 is formed between which air ducts 6-8 extend (Figure 4), the edges glued together and sections of seams 9 together are connected.
- Figure 4 a total of three air channels 6-8 are formed in the illustrated embodiment.
- These extend from a rear side 101 of the head part 1 arranged on the neck side connecting piece 10 which is connected to the hose 11 for supplying the fresh air, over the head 12 of the person to be protected 2 to the air outlet openings 13, which above and to the side of the face area 14 of the person 2 are arranged (Figure 3).
- the course of the air flow within the head part 1 is indicated in FIGS. 2-4 and 6 with arrows 15.
- the air channels 6-8 are formed such that the inner hood 4 exerts no compression on the outer hood 5.
- the protective suit 100 which can consist of disposable suits made of the commercially available Tyvec C or F material from DuPont, for example, has a single opening 17 (FIG. 5) via which the person 2 to be protected enters the protective suit 100 or this strikes off.
- the opening 17 is a arranged below the hood-shaped head part 1, at shoulder height transversely from one to the other side extending opening which is closed by means of a zipper 18 and can then be sealed.
- the person to be protected 2 rises to put on the protective suit 100 first in the protective suit 100 as in a bag and strips it from the bottom over the legs and the trunk over to the shoulders. After connection of the hose 11 of the blower unit, not shown, to the connecting piece 10, the blower unit 102 is turned on and the head part 1 is applied. The zipper 18 is then completely closed and sealed.
- the invention is not limited to the embodiment described above.
- the hose line 11 can also lie within the protective suit 100 and the blower unit 102 under to be worn in the suit.
- the filter 103 is screwed through an opening of the protective suit to the blower unit 102.
