Description

The invention relates to an electrical contact element, in particular designed as a pin contact or socket contact contact element with a plug-in area and a connection end for connecting an electrical conductor.

Such a contact element, which is usually surrounded by an insulating housing, is required to produce an electrical connection between an electrical conductor and a terminal end of an electrical pin contact or a female contact, but no special tools is required.

For connecting electrical conductors to a contact element, a number of connection principles are known in the art, such as by soldering, screw connections, by Käfigzugfederanschluss or by crimping.

From the DE 199 14 308 A1 an electrical connection assembly with a housing is known in which at least one connection for an insulated conductor or a stripped conductor is provided with at least one cutting element and at least one spring element.

The disadvantage is that different connection principles, such. B. soldering in industrial connection technology is steadily pushed back due to the effort that screw connections as well as Käfigzugfederanschlüsse have a relatively large amount of space, and crimp connections require each special tool.

The invention is therefore based on the object to form a contact element of the type mentioned in that at least one already in use contact element with a crimp or screw connection can be easily replaced or replaced with the contact element according to the invention, said at least comparable Kontaktierungsdaten, how contact resistances and gas-tight connection points between an electrical conductor and a contact element are achieved, as in the case of a crimp connection, without, however, requiring the special tool, for example a crimping tool.

This object is achieved in that on the connection end a sleeve can be applied, that the sleeve has punched out of its wall, directed into the sleeve interior spring arms, and that the spring arms are immersed in a bore in the terminal end of the contact element.

Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in claims 2-5.

The advantages achieved by the invention are in particular that such designed as a pin or socket contact elements are adapted with their outer contours to existing and in-use connector systems and thus older versions that are provided with a crimp, screw or solder connection , can be easily replaced, with no special tools needed. In addition, almost identical ladder pull-out forces are achieved with this type of fastening as with a screw connection.

Furthermore, it is advantageous that the connection cross section of the electrical conductors for the contact element according to the invention comprises a larger range of variation than is possible with a crimp connection; Thus, a total cross-sectional areas of 0.5 to 2.5 mm 2 can be connected.

By the formation of a Sägezahngewindes at the terminal end of the contact element, the force exerted on the electrical conductor wedge effect of the tips of the spring arms advantageously in addition to a rotational movement optionally also by an axially latching effect of the sleeve achievable. Due to the wedging action of the spring arm tips, a vibration-proof and reliable fastening technology for the electrical conductor is also realized.

An embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawing and will be explained in more detail below. Show it:
Fig. 1
a sectional view of a complete contact element with a screwed sleeve, and
Fig. 2
a perspective view of the sleeve.

FIG. 1 shows a contact element 1 designed as a pin contact with a sleeve 7 and an electrical conductor 15 inserted therein.
The contact element is formed from a pin-shaped plug-in region 2 with an adjoining connection end 3, on which a sawtooth thread 5 is provided.
Furthermore, a conical bore 6 is provided, dip in the two spring arms 8, which are cut out of the jacket of the sleeve 7.

The sleeve 7 shown in Fig. 2, in this example, two spring arms 8, which are cut or stamped from the jacket of the sleeve and point into the sleeve interior.
Pointing in the direction of the spring arms, a collar 10 is integrally formed on the sleeve end, whose edge 11 pointing into the interior of the sleeve is shaped corresponding to the tooth flanks of the sawtooth thread 5.
Furthermore, a plurality of slots 12 are provided, which extend from the collar 10, starting axially into the shell of the sleeve.

When mounting the contact element with a stripped, electrical conductor 15, this is first inserted into the sleeve 7 and pushed to the stop in the bore 6 in the terminal end 3.
In this case, the conductor slides past the spring arms 8 directed into the sleeve interior.
Subsequently, by an axial displacement of the sleeve, in the direction of the plug-in region 2 of the contact element, the already in the funnel or conical bore 6 of the connection area located spring arms inserted deeper into the bore, wherein the electrical conductor - depending on the force increasingly - between the Federarmspitzen 9 is wedged. The displacement of the sleeve takes place quickly and easily by an axial sliding movement or by a rotational movement of the sleeve on the sawtooth thread 5 of the pin contact.
The sleeve is provided with a plurality of longitudinal slots 12, so that segments are formed, which also ensure a "ratchet-like" sliding over the thread tooth flanks.
By a counterclockwise rotation of the sleeve 7 on the sawtooth thread 5, a removal of the electrical conductor 15 from the contact element is possible.
