Definitions

  • the invention relates to an image holder for the interchangeable storage and presentation of predominantly two-dimensional images, such as photos, art prints, drawings, images or the like, consisting of a carrier plate, viewing window and image to be inserted between them.
  • Such image holders are used to display two-dimensional images of three-dimensional objects.
  • the image holders known to date as the prior art consist of a support plate to be viewed as the back and the viewing window as the front.
  • the image to be shown is inserted between the two parts. Subsequently, the support plate and lens are secured against slipping and falling apart on all four narrow sides along the edge with reusable special clips. With an older type of picture holder, the picture is the right one
  • Another disadvantage is the time-consuming and laborious exchange of the inserted images. To do this, each time all clips have to be removed and clamped again after changing the picture. This procedure results in an additional disadvantage that the alignment of the image between the viewing window and the carrier plate, possibly even in a pas-partout, is very difficult and requires some patience. The picture in the frame should be kept as still as possible until all clamps are clamped and it is completely fixed.
  • exchangeable frames provided with brackets do not inherently have any stability; this has an adverse effect on occasions when the frame is to be set up free-standing. Then he has to be leaned on something.
  • the sliding frame as z. B. are common for family photos, usually attached to the back of the support plate, foldable, separate support for independent standing and can therefore be placed on any flat surface.
  • this type of frame is generally not produced in every size, but only for images of small to medium format.
  • a shortcoming for the use of these sliding frames is also the relatively narrow space between the viewing window and the support plate into which the pictures have to be pushed because this type of picture holder cannot be dismantled. The pictures often fold or their corners are repelled.
  • the two types of sculptures mentioned do not offer the slightest possibility of varying the presentation of the pictures by using different shapes and materials for the frame and carrier plate or even for the viewing window.
  • the object of the invention is to provide an innovative image holder with a simple structure for storing and presenting images without disturbing optical distortions and reflections when viewing.

  • the easy assembly is to be mentioned first. Thanks to its innovative structure, the picture holder is easy to take apart and put back together to exchange the presented pictures.
  • the use of two profile strips as side parts for the side bracket causes a strong compression of the support plate and Viewing window along with the image in between over its entire length if the groove intended for its inclusion has been worked out precisely.

  • brackets allow the inserted images to be easily exchanged. Due to the precisely machined guide groove, the accuracy of fit is specified in all three spatial directions. Subsequent, time-consuming alignment of the image in the frame can be dispensed with.

  • Carrier plate and lens are held together by the guide grooves in the side-mounted frame profile strips. In this way, a clamping effect is generated without any additional measures. Pushing into the groove already causes the clamping.
  • the carrier plate If the carrier plate is provided with an appropriate opening, it can be used as a carrier frame or, if necessary, even as a mat. Then the picture holder becomes a frame that can be used on both sides. A picture can be on the front and on the back page, depending on whether you want a mat or not. Therefore, in this case, two pictures can be shown in each frame at the same time, one on the front and one on the back.

  • the image holder When using corresponding profiles with a large base area or cross-sectional area, the image holder stands by itself. However, one or more profile strips can also be constructed as a stable mainstay, e.g. B with a widened foot. The image holder therefore does not require any additional, possibly fold-out support to be attached, as is the case with the sliding change frame design described. On the other hand, with higher demands on stability and stability, several profile strips can together form a presentation stand, for. B. an open and collapsible poster holder for posters or the like. In both versions, the dimensions of the picture holder only have to be adjusted accordingly for use as a poster holder or presentation stand.
  • the carrier plate or carrier frame and the viewing window are always of the same size, that is to say they have identical dimensions, both of which can in principle be produced for images of any size.
  • Favorable dimensions are the different sizes where paper images are made. The paper photos can then be presented directly in the appropriate image holder, without using paspartouts.
  • the carrier plate or the carrier frame projects on at least one side laterally beyond the frame specified by the viewing window, i.e. the picture does not have to have exactly the same dimensions as the carrier plate or the carrier frame, it can also be smaller. This creates the impression of a pas-partout or creates a creative frame effect.

  • the frame profile strips can also have a guide groove on more than one long side.
  • a guide groove on more than one long side.
  • a further embodiment of the profile strips provides several grooves in succession on the same side of a strip, so that when using transparent or translucent carrier plates or carrier frames, several images can be arranged one behind the other to produce interesting background effects.
  • the material for the profile strips can be selected according to the purpose, e.g. B. wood, metal or plastic. Due to the variation of the material, the picture holder can be adapted to the different surroundings or as a contrast to it depending on personal taste.
  • the type of installation of the picture holder is not subject to any restrictions. They can be hung and set up or simply presented lying down.
  • the image holder consists of a support plate (1) curved in the direction of one longitudinal axis, which can also be viewed as the rear wall, and a viewing window (2) which is curved more weakly in the corresponding direction, between which the image (3) to be presented is inserted and is held. Subsequently, the support plate, picture and viewing window are pushed together into the guide groove (5) of the frame profile strip (4) on both sides, whereby the picture holder is fully assembled.
