Le piétement (1) est constitué d'une chape (4) enveloppant sur trois faces la partie basse du mât télescopique (2) et réunissant deux platines (7) (37) tenant lieu de chapes d'articulation, elles-mêmes reliées par un axe (42) autour duquel tourne un fourreau (41) reliant les deux barres constitutives de chacun des deux pieds (5) orientables horizontalement, alors que les deux barres constitutives du pied (5a) fixe sont solidaires de la chape (4).
