Abstract

The connector module houses aligned contacts (10). The connector module is designed to be fitted to a carrier band, and includes pegs (30) by which the module is attached. Holes in the band receive the pegs with clips retaining the pegs. The connector module houses contacts (10) aligned in a row within the module, each contact having crimping points formed in a crown shape. The crimping points are intended to be pressed through a flexible printed circuit and folded over to secure them. This is achieved in a press with a heavy block with a shaped matching the contact configuration. The connector module is designed to be fitted to a carrier band, and includes pegs (30) by which the module is attached. Holes in the band receive the pegs with clips retaining the pegs. The band is used to convey the connector modules to the contact crimping machine, and the pegs are intended to be broken in order to release the module from the band once it has reached the machine and is in use.
