The invention relates to a contactor with electromechanical control, of the type comprising, in a fixed housing:
  • at least one pair of conductors each carrying a fixed contact;
  • at least one contact bridge adapted to occupy a closed position in which it establishes an electrical connection between the fixed contacts, and an open position in which it is at a distance from said fixed contacts;

  • an actuator bidirectionally coupled to said movable armature, said actuator comprising:
    • a first stop surface facing the movable armature;
    • a second abutment surface facing away from the movable armature;

said actuator being adapted to drive said contact bridge towards its open position:
  • by means of the first abutment surface if said contact bridge is of the "closed" type, that is to say arranged to connect the fixed contacts in the working position of the movable armature;
  • by means of the second abutment surface and against the return spring if said contact bridge is of the "open" type, that is to say arranged to connect the fixed contacts in the rest position of the mobile frame.

A contactor of this type is known from FR-2 756 092 in the name of the applicant.

Although known contactors of this type are entirely satisfactory, it is desired to provide them with some improvement.

In fact, whether they are of the "closed" type or of the "open" type, the contact bridges are embedded on the actuator with their contact spring.

The contact spring of an opening contact bridge therefore acts against the return spring of the movable armature since it pushes it towards its working position while the return spring pushes it towards its rest position. .

This affects firstly the good positioning of the armature in the rest position, and can also cause a malfunction of the contactor in case of premature wear of the return spring, the armature mobile then having difficulty in return to his rest position.

The document FR-2 652 947 provides for constituting a fixed support for the contact springs by means of a wafer fixedly mounted in the housing.

This provision, the implementation of which is delicate, would upset the internal arrangement of a contactor of the type described above.

The invention aims to provide a contactor of the aforementioned type, which is both reliable and easy to implement, and which works as well with contact bridges of the "open" type with contact bridges of the type "Closed".

  • le boîtier présente une surface d'appui regardant vers ladite armature mobile ;
For this purpose, the invention proposes a contactor with electromechanical control of the aforementioned type, characterized in that:
  • the casing has a bearing surface facing towards said movable armature;
  • there exists, between this bearing surface and said second abutment surface of the actuator, a free space adapted to receive a said contact spring, with the latter bearing on the one hand against an opening contact bridge, and secondly against the bearing surface of the housing.

This contact spring is thus independent of the actuator, so that it does not act against the return spring in the rest position of the moving armature.

The contactor is thus faster, more accurate and more reliable.

According to one embodiment, the actuator comprises a contact block having at least one compartment capable of receiving a closing contact bridge.

This compartment is delimited longitudinally by two opposite transverse faces, one of which forms said first abutment surface, while the other forms a bearing surface for the spring of the contact bridge so that the contact bridge assembly - Spring is embedded in said contact block.

The compartment is for example closed, on the side of said bearing surface of the housing, by a partition having two opposite faces, one of which, turned towards the inside of the compartment, forms the first abutment surface, while the other forms the second abutment surface.

In addition, the contact block may comprise a second compartment superimposed on the first and separated from it by said partition, this second compartment being capable of receiving an opening contact bridge.

This second compartment can be separated from said bearing surface of the housing by a wall in which is formed a through hole forming a passage for the spring of the opening contact bridge.

Preferably, this spring has, excluding stress, a pitch of a helix whose value is greater than that of the thickness of the wall in which the through hole is made.

According to another embodiment, the actuator comprises a contact block comprising at least one compartment capable of receiving a closing contact bridge or an opening contact bridge.

This compartment is for example delimited longitudinally by two opposite faces, one of which forms said first abutment surface and the other forms said second abutment surface, said compartment being separated from said bearing surface of the casing by a wall of which one face , turned towards the inside of the compartment, forms said first bearing surface, and in which is formed a through hole forming a passage for the spring of the opening contact bridge.

For example, the actuator is U-shaped section flanking the fixed armature, and has a transverse base forming said door block contact, and two longitudinal branches facing, projecting from the contact block, and each fixed at one end to said movable armature.

Furthermore, and according to one embodiment, the return spring is located between the contact block and the housing, on which it bears.

Preferably, the return spring is supported on the bearing surface of the housing.

For example, the return spring is firstly inserted into a well of the contact block, and secondly fitted on a protruding stud of the housing.

According to one embodiment, this well is between two contact door of the contact block, each contact door having at least one compartment as described above.

The electromagnet 3 comprises, on the one hand, a fixed part 10 including a coil 11 supported by a casing 12 fixed to the casing 2 as well as a fixed armature 13 associated with the coil 11, and, on the other hand, a mobile armature 14 located opposite the fixed armature 13.

L'armature mobile 14 est sollicitée vers sa position de repos par un ressort de rappel 15 qui prend appui contre le corps de boîtier 4.The movable armature 14 is adapted to take a rest position (FIGS. 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, 12, 14) in which it is spaced apart from the fixed armature 13 while being situated at an air gap distance from that and a working position (FIGS. 4, 5, 7, 10, 11, 13) in which it is pressed against the fixed armature 13. The moving armature 14 is biased towards its rest position by a return spring 15 which bears against the casing body 4.

In the rest position, the mobile armature 14 is retracted into the nose 9 of the cover 8, which thus forms a housing for receiving it (FIGS. 2, 8).

An actuator 16 is coupled to the moving armature 14 to drive a contact bridge 17, 17 'adapted to establish an electrical connection between a first and a second conductor 18, 19, mounted in the housing body 4, and located in look.

As it appears in FIG. 1, the contactor 1, of the bipolar type, comprises two first conductors 18 and two second conductors 19.

For its connection to the electrical network, the contactor 1 comprises two first power terminals 20 arranged on the same side of the housing 2, one of which is intended to connect one of the first conductors 18 to a pole of the network, while that the other is intended to connect the other first conductor 18 to another pole of the network.

Two second power terminals 21 are also provided for similarly connecting the second conductors 19 to the electrical apparatus.

As shown in Figure 1, each power terminal 20, 21 is arranged to clamp a stripped electrical wire of the power grid.

For this purpose, each terminal 20, 21 comprises a movable connecting element 22 slidably mounted in the housing body 4, the sliding of this element 22 being controlled by a clamping screw 23 engaged in a hole 24 of the cover 8, and which , bearing on the conductor 18, 19, causes by its rotation the pinching of the stripped wire between the connection element 22 and the conductor 18, 19, on which the connection element 22 is engaged.

Each power terminal 20, 21 is mounted in the housing body 4 opposite a window 25 formed therein for the passage of the corresponding stripped wire of the electrical network.

In order to deter the user of the contactor 1 when the latter is connected to the network or electrical apparatus, the connection element 22 has a projection 26 forming a flap capable of closing the window 25 during the sliding of the the element 22 (Figure 2).

The contactor 1 further comprises two control terminals 27 for connecting the coil to a power control circuit thereof.

Each first conductor 18 has an end portion 28 whose end carries or forms a fixed contact 29, while each second conductor 19 has an end portion 30 disposed facing the end portion 28 of the first conductor 18, this end portion 30 carrying or also forming a fixed contact 31.

Each contact bridge 17, 17 'is in turn itself in the form of a conductive strip whose ends carry or form a movable contact 32, 33 may be applied against a fixed contact 29, 31 to connect them conductors 18, 19.

The contact bridge 17, 17 'is able to occupy a closed position in which it establishes an electrical connection between the fixed contacts 29, 31 via, respectively, movable contacts 32, 33, and an open position in which it is at a distance from the conductors 18, 19, these movable contacts 32, 33 then being spaced apart from the fixed contacts 29, 31.

Les positions du pont de contact 17, 17' sont commandées par l'électro-aimant 3, et plus spécifiquement par le mouvement de l'armature mobile 14.The positions of the contact bridge 17, 17 'are controlled by the electromagnet 3, and more specifically by the movement of the mobile armature 14.

There are two modes of operation of the contactor 1, namely a mode of operation called "closing", and a mode of operation said "open".

Un tel pont de contact 17 est dit du type « à fermeture ».In the operating mode of the closing type, the contact bridge 17 is arranged to occupy its closed position, that is to say connect the fixed contacts 29, 31, in the working position of the mobile armature 14, as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, as well as in FIG. 7. Such a contact bridge 17 is said to be of the "closed" type.

In the rest position of the mobile armature 14, the contact bridge 17 occupies its open position, as it appears in FIGS. 2 and 3, as well as in FIG.

In the working position of the movable armature 14, the contact bridge 17 occupies its closed position, as it appears in FIGS. 4, 5 and 7.

Un tel pont de contact 17' est dit du type « à ouverture ».In the open mode of operation, the contact bridge, referenced 17 'for the sake of clarity, is arranged to occupy its closed position, that is to say to connect the fixed contacts 29, 31, in the position of rest of the mobile armature 14, as shown in Figures 8 and 9, as well as in Figure 12. Such a contact bridge 17 'is said to type "open".

In the working position of the mobile armature 14, the contact bridge 17 'occupies its open position, as it appears in FIGS. 10 and 11, as well as in FIG. 13.

The contactor 1 is arranged to operate both on opening and on closing, as is apparent from what follows.

The actuator 16 has a U-shaped section and comprises a transverse base forming a contact block 34 which project two parallel parallel branches 35 which each have an end 36 engaged on the end of a transverse rod 37 passing through a bore of the mobile armature 14, so that the actuator 16 is coupled to the movable armature 14.

The contact block 34 comprises two paired contact doors 38 located substantially in the extension of the branches 35.

Each contact door 38 comprises two superimposed compartments, namely an upper compartment 39 adapted to receive a contact bridge 17 of the closing type, and a lower compartment 40 adapted to receive a contact bridge 17 'of the opening type.

The upper compartment 39 and the lower compartment 40 are separated from each other by a partition 41 having two opposite faces respectively forming a first abutment surface 42 looking towards the movable armature 14, and a second abutment surface 43 looking at to the opposite.

The upper compartment 39 is delimited longitudinally on the one hand by the first abutment surface 42, on the other by a transverse face 44 facing it, and, transversely, by two upper longitudinal walls 75, facing each other.

In the closed operating mode, a contact bridge 17 of the closing type is inserted in the upper compartment 39 being biased towards its closed position by a contact spring 45 operating at the compression, which is associated with it, which is supported on the one hand on the contact bridge 17, and on the other hand against the transverse face 44, so that the contact bridge assembly 17- spring 45 is embedded in the contact block 34.

In order to avoid any displacement of the contact spring 45, its end located on the side of the transverse face 44 is fitted on a pin 76 projecting from it, while its opposite end is housed in a recessed reserve 77 formed in the contact bridge 17, being maintained therein through the upper walls 75.

Accompagnant l'armature mobile 14, le bloc porte contact 34 se déplace longitudinalement dans un espace 46 ménagé entre, d'une part l'électro-aimant 3, plus particulièrement l'armature fixe 13, et d'autre part une paroi de fond 47 du corps de boîtier 4.Accompanying the movable armature 14, the contact block 34 moves longitudinally in a space 46 formed between, on the one hand the electromagnet 3, more particularly the fixed armature 13, and on the other hand a bottom wall 47 of the casing body 4.

In the working position of the mobile armature 14, as shown in FIGS. 4, 5, 7, the contact bridge 17 is pressed against the conductors 18, 19 and held in this position via the spring contact 45 which is compressed between the contact bridge 17 and the face 44.

Lorsque l'armature mobile 14 reprend sa position de repos, vers laquelle elle est sollicitée par le ressort de rappel 15, le pont de contact 17 se trouve décollé du conducteur 18, 19 en étant entraîné vers sa position d'ouverture par l'actionneur 16, au moyen de la première surface de butée 42, contre laquelle se trouve plaqué le pont de contact 17 par la détente du ressort de contact 45 (figures 2, 3, 6).When the armature 14 resumes its rest position, to which it is urged by the return spring 15, the contact bridge 17 is detached from the conductor 18, 19 being driven to its open position by the actuator 16, by means of the first abutment surface 42, against which the contact bridge 17 is pressed by the expansion of the contact spring 45 (FIGS. 2, 3, 6).

The lower compartment 40 is itself delimited longitudinally, on the one hand by the partition 41, and on the other hand by a wall 48 substantially parallel to the partition 41, forming a free end of the actuator 16, and separating the compartment lower 40 of the bottom wall 47. The lower compartment 40 is defined transversely by two lower walls 78, longitudinal, opposite.

In the rest position of the movable armature 14, as it appears in FIGS. 8, 9, 12, the contact bridge 17 'is glued against the conductors 18, 19 while being held in this position by a spring of contact 49 at compression which is supported on the one hand on the contact bridge 17 ', and on the other hand on a bearing surface 50 of the bottom wall 47 of the housing body 4, turned towards the mobile armature 14.

In order to allow this arrangement, there exists between the second abutment surface 43 and this bearing surface 50 a space adapted to receive the contact spring 49.

It is thus practiced in the wall 48 of the lower compartment 40, a through hole 51 in which is engaged the contact spring 49, so that it is not embedded in the contact block 34, but is independent of this latest.

Thus, in the rest position, the movable armature 14 is only urged towards this position by its return spring 15.

When the moving armature 14 passes into its working position, as it appears in FIGS. 10, 11, 13, the actuator 16 drives the contact bridge 17 'towards its open position against its contact spring 49, by means of the second abutment surface 43 and against the return spring 15.

The wall 48 makes it possible in particular to stiffen the contact block 34, while the through hole 51, which here has a diameter slightly greater than that of the spring 49, avoids any bending and inadvertent escape thereof.

And, in order to avoid any displacement of the contact spring 49, its end located on the side of the bottom wall 47 is fitted on a pin 52 projecting from the bottom wall 47 of the casing body 4 (FIGS. 8, 9), while its opposite end is housed in the recessed reserve 77 formed in the contact bridge 17 ', being maintained there by means of the lower walls 78.

Furthermore, the spring 49 has, without stress, a pitch of a helix, that is to say a distance between two successive turns, of value less than that of the thickness of the partition 48, so as to avoid any risk of engagement of the spring 49 with the partition 48 between two successive turns.

The electromagnet 3 is now described in more detail.

The carcass 12 is substantially I-shaped section, and comprises a base 54 and a plate 55 connected by a hollow central core 56 around which is wound the coil 11 which is trapped between the base 54 and the plate 55.

Each armature 13, 14 has an E-shaped section, and has two end branches 57 flanking the coil 11 and its carcass 12, as well as a central branch 58 engaged inside the core 56.

La carcasse 12 comporte quatre pieds 59 qui saillent du socle 54 en direction de la paroi de fond 47 du corps de boîtier 4.The carcass 12 has four feet 59 which project from the base 54 in the direction of the bottom wall 47 of the casing body 4.

The latter comprises four tabs 60 disposed opposite the feet 59. The tabs 60 protrude from the bottom wall 47 with which they are integral with respect to the carcass 12.

The end portion 30, 31 of each conductor 18, 19 is immobilized while being tight, close to the fixed contact 29, 31, between a first jaw belonging to the housing 2 and formed by one of the legs 60, and a second jaw belonging to the carcass 12, and formed by the foot 59 corresponding.

The assembly of the casing 12 to the casing body 4 and the tightening of the end portions 28, 30 of the conductors 18, 19 are provided by two screws 61.

Each screw 61 is inserted into a through hole 62 formed in the bottom wall 47 of the housing body 4, and forming a passage for the screw 61, the latter being further engaged in a threaded bore 63 of the base 54, located in view of the through hole 62 and coaxial with it.

In order to ensure guiding of the screw during the assembly of the carcass 12 to the casing body 4, the through hole 62 is formed in a chimney 64 projecting from the bottom wall 47 towards the casing 12.

L'alésage 63 est quant à lui pratiqué dans un fût 65 saillant du socle 54 vers la paroi de fond 47, en regard de la cheminée 64.The bore 63 is in turn made in a barrel 65 protruding from the base 54 towards the bottom wall 47, opposite the chimney 64.

When the casing 12 is assembled to the casing body 4, the end portions 28, 30 of the conductors 18, 19 being disposed between the jaws 59, 60, exist between the casing body 4 and the casing 12, at the level of the casing. 61, a clearance J adapted to allow the clamping of the end portions 28, 30 between the jaws 59, 60 by means of the screws 61.

Here, the clearance J is the distance that separates the chimney 64 from the drum 65 when the assembly of the carcass 12 to the casing body 4 is made, at least before the tightening of the conductors 18, 19 is achieved.

In addition, in order to maintain a tension on the screws 61 which makes it possible to prevent their loosening, the bottom wall 47 has the ability to flex when the screws 61 are tightened, towards the carcass 12.

Thus, by its own elasticity, the bottom wall 47 exerts on the screws 61 a traction that brakes their free rotation.

When the tightening of the conductors 18, 19 is performed, the clearance J can be canceled, in particular by bending the bottom wall 47, the chimney 64 and the barrel 65 then coming into contact. This prevents too tight screws 61, which could damage or break the housing body 4.

To ensure its guidance, the return spring 15 is firstly inserted into the bore of a cylindrical well 66 made in the contact block 34 and located between the contact holders 38.

The return spring 15 is further fitted on a stud 53 forming a stop for the spring 15, and protruding from the bottom wall 47 with which it came from material.

Le contacteur 1 comporte d'autres éléments constitutifs, que l'on décrit succinctement à présent.The contactor 1 comprises other constituent elements, which are briefly described at present.

Amongst others, there is provided a plate 67 snapped into the casing body 4, on which is slidably mounted a pusher 68 movable between three stable positions, namely an automatic operating position, a forced operating position, as well as a off position.

The plate 67 also forms a guide for a lever 69, one end of which is fitted on the rod 37, whereas the other end forms a retractable sight 70 which can appear or disappear, depending on the position of the mobile armature 14, facing a window 71 closed by a flap 72 allowing access to the pusher 68.

Par ailleurs, le socle 54 de la carcasse 12 présente, entre deux pieds 59 adjacents situés d'un même côté du socle 54, un logement 73 dans lequel est introduite l'armature fixe 13.Furthermore, the base 54 of the carcass 12 has, between two adjacent feet 59 situated on the same side of the base 54, a housing 73 into which the fixed armature 13 is introduced.

This housing 73 has a transverse abutment surface 74 extending between the feet 59, looking towards the bottom wall 47 of the casing body 4, and against which the fixed armature 13 is pressed in the working position of the armature 14.

On the other hand, in the rest position of the latter, there is a clearance between the fixed armature 13 and this abutment surface 73, while the contact block 34 is pressed against a rib 79 of the base 54 (FIGS. especially).

According to a first non-illustrated embodiment, each contact door 38 comprises a single compartment of the type of the lower compartment 40 described above and adapted to receive both a closure type contact bridge and a contact bridge of the type to opening.

In this case, the first abutment surface 42 is carried by the wall 48 of the compartment, while the second abutment surface 43 is formed by an upper transverse face of the compartment, facing the first abutment surface 42.

Moreover, it is possible, according to the configuration of the switch 1, to use only one clamping screw 61, or to use a number strictly greater than two.

In addition, to simplify the manufacture of the switch 1, it may be advantageous to thread the bore 63 during assembly, by means of the screw 61 itself, the latter then performing an additional tap function .

And, according to a second alternative embodiment not shown, it is also possible to replace the screws 61 by other similar clamping means to achieve the same result. In particular, rivets or nails may be used.

According to a third embodiment, the conductors are immobilized by being clamped between the jaws 59, 60, elsewhere than at their ends, according to the configuration of the contactor, the shape or arrangement of the conductors.

According to a fourth variant not shown, the contactor is multipole, for example of the quadrupole type, the contact block comprising for this purpose two pairs of contact door, one of these pairs operating for example at the opening, while the other of these pairs works on closing.

It is of course possible to combine the various variants with each other without departing from the scope of the invention.
