Abstract

Chip- or fiber-board production uses a non-formaldehyde-releasing two-component crosslinkable binder, with components applied separately at different stages in the process. Chip- or fiber-board production with a 2-component binder is by pressing, optionally with heating, the chips or fibers having been treated: (i) with component (A) in a refiner at 120-200 degrees C, before or during milling or shortly after milling at the start of the release pipe, the functional groups of (A) being non-reactive at the temp. used; and then (ii) with a reactive component (B) at a lower temperature of up to 150 degrees C at the end of the release pipe or during or after drying.
