Abstract

A dispenser (5, 5a) applies glue (M) to one or both sides of a moving carton web (3). The dispenser has a dosing unit (12, 12a) with outlets (15, 15a) forming a defined chamber (14, 14a) within the gutter (Z, Za). The carton feeds towards the chamber between rollers (1, 1a). The glue is released and spread onto the carton surface in approx. the same direction of travel as the web. The glue dispenser has a detachable dispenser head which may be exchanged in accordance with the application. There is a minimal gap between the dispenser spray jet outlet and the moving carton. The dispenser has a series of spray jets arranged at different levels.
