Definitions

  • the invention relates to a portable grinder with housing, on the front a grinding tool driven by a rotor and at the back Holding head is arranged, the grinder with a speed controller is equipped, via which the rotational speed by means of a speed setting is adjustable (see e.g. US-A-6 004 197).
  • Grinding machines are used to coat, varnish and paint Remove surfaces of different objects and are made of, for example known from EP 0 577 575 or DE-PS 39 33 885.
  • a possible area of application for these grinders is removing paint from the outside surface of Vehicles, with the aim of having the uneven contours of such a vehicle a grinder.
  • Portable devices are used by the user grabs with one hand and touches the surface. Regulating the speed, with regard to the most varied of tasks, even for one Object must be changed several times, depending on whether, for example, over the entire area or working on chamfers or in throats is done via a speed controller, which can be operated with the second hand.
  • the device To adjust the speed the device must usually be discontinued, since the grinder is located on the Surface pressure is not maintained constantly when regulating the speed leaves, so that damage to the surface cannot be excluded. In many known grinding machines, the switch for speed regulation is located even below the palm. Another disadvantage of known devices is that that holding heads in different sizes are used for different users and must be replaced accordingly. This applies in particular to legal or left-handed as well as for the usually different hand sizes of men and women. These at least four basic settings are satisfied, that the holding heads or the handles are designed to be interchangeable, so that each user can fall back on the more or less suitable holding head. Indeed some effort is required to do this since the device has a new holding head must be equipped and this must also be secured accordingly.
  • the object of the present invention is therefore a portable grinding device to create, the speed of which is easy and without stopping the Grinding device can be regulated from the surface of the object and that without expensive Conversion work can be used by different operators.
  • the object of the invention is achieved in that the speed setting about an axis running essentially perpendicular to the grinding tool is pivotable and is assigned to the upper edge of the holding head.
  • the speed setting is one in Axis that can be pivoted essentially vertically to the grinding tool, ie ultimately around the axis in the direction of which the user exerts the force on the grinder or tool.
  • the speed can change during the grinding process is continuously varied and adapted to the circumstances, depending on the whether the grinding tool is over the entire surface, with a part of its surface or just about is used on an edge. Because with one hand both the pressure on the grinding tool or the surface to be worked, as well as the speed is set, a particularly uniform and safe processing is possible. Abrupt jerky movements while pressing the grinder onto the Surface that inevitably occurred when the speed was adjusted with the second hand are therefore excluded.
  • the grinder is particularly easy to handle if the Speed setting of the holding head in a one-hand operation of the holding head and enable speed adjustment and within reach of the holding head the distance between the index finger or middle finger. Is to the speed setting directly below one assigned to the holding head Cover arranged at the top of the holding head so that this adjustment device is easily accessible in height. At the same time, the distance is also radial Dimension the direction so that the speed setting for the index or middle finger is easy to bridge. It is generally assumed that the axis of the grinding tool and that of the holding head overlap approximately.
  • the speed setting is located outside the housing and corresponds to a speed controller designed within this. to Connection of these components is provided that the speed setting over a rotatably mounted regulator ring arranged within the holding head, the speed regulator assigned.
  • the axis of the regulator ring also essentially falls with the axis of the grinding tool or the holding head.
  • the regulator ring is provided with a cover, below which the speed setting is slightly protruding, more precisely, over whose radial boundary is protruding. It is understood that the radius the limit of the coverage in this area and the radius of that of the handle the speed setting orbiting path are at least approximately the same.
  • the grinding device according to the invention can be driven pneumatically or electrically his.
  • a pneumatic drive is expediently provided, which has a Supply connection as well as an exhaust air connection, the supply connection an air inlet valve is assigned to the rotor space.
  • the air intake valve is preferably spring-loaded and directly behind the compressed air inlet of the supply connection arranged. This air intake valve is, as explained below is controlled via a handle, which can also be operated with one hand is.
  • a handle as an on / off switch is on Holding head provided, which is arranged and formed movable in the direction of the holding head is.
  • This handle is adapted to the shape of the holding head, so that it too can be operated with the back of the hand.
  • this handle is countered in the direction of the holding head or the grinding tool the force of a suspension is moved or pivoted about a corresponding joint. Even when the back of the hand is lifted slightly, the handle moves due to the Spring action again in the opposite direction to the starting position, releases So from the holding head, so that the device switches off immediately by the compressed air supply is canceled.
  • Valve tappet is associated with the end facing away from the handle is connected to the air inlet valve.
  • the valve tappet When operating the handle, i.e. when moving the same in the direction of the holding head, the valve tappet is in the direction of its Longitudinal axis moves, so that the air inlet hole is released and the compressed air can flow into the rotor space. With opposite movement of the handle the valve tappet closes the air inlet hole and the compressed air supply is canceled. Due to the longitudinal displacement of the valve tappet, the rapid Switch the device on and off and by rotating the valve tappet Speed controller regulating the rotational speed of the Grinding tool between zero and maximum position.
  • the speed controller at its end facing the air inlet valve has at least one, preferably two bores leading to an air inlet bore are formed correspondingly in the air inlet valve.
  • a preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the bore and the air inlet hole varies depending on the position of the speed controller fully or partially overlapping are formed and arranged. Depending on the extent to which one of these holes overlaps with the air intake valve there is air through the supply connection or air inlet valve and holes embedded in the rotor space.
  • the speed of the rotor can thus be controlled the speed setting can be decreased or increased. It always says a hole on the speed controller opposite the air inlet hole. Which of both holes this depends on which side of the grinder the Speed setting is connected to the regulator ring.
  • the speed setting in each case with the regulator ring can be connected, preferably screwed.
  • One and the same holding head can be on different positions can be equipped with a speed setting, each where it is most convenient for the operator.
  • the housing has corresponding receptacles for this on, the regulator ring is also designed accordingly, for example with a thread, that he record a speed setting in multiple positions can. Regardless of the position of the speed setting on the left or on the right side of the device, the regulator ring is moved by the same amount, whereby this rotary motion is then transferred to the speed controller.
  • the holding head of a human hand is formed integrally, wherein it is on the side corresponding recesses and the cover one ergonomically to the outside advantageously has a curved surface.
  • the curved surface is adapted to the palm of the hand, the speed setting in Range of index or middle finger is.
  • the width of the holding head is expediently in addition Tapered in sections in the direction of the supply connection.
  • the grinder with a safety handle on the Back of the grinder is equipped, via which the handle can be blocked.
  • the handle can therefore only be operated if the safety handle has been used beforehand has been released from its blocking position. So it prevents the handle inadvertently moved in the direction of the holding head or the grinding tool can be.
  • a corresponding recess is provided in the handle, which is designed to correspond to the safety handle.
