Definitions
- the invention relates to a bristle for a toothbrush, in particular for an electric Toothbrush made of a plastic monofilament.
- the Invention also relates to a method for producing a bristle for a toothbrush, in particular for an electric toothbrush, wherein a monofilament made of plastic becomes.
- Such a bristle and also such a method are known from German Offenlegungsschrift DE 196 40 852 A1.
- a monofilament the one having non-circular cross-section.
- the monofilament is after extrusion around its Twisted longitudinal axis and fixed by means of chemical means. This way arises a three-dimensionally structured surface, with an improved cleaning effect especially in the removal of plaque is achieved.
- the object of the invention is to provide a bristle made of a monofilament, in a simple manner, a splice of the free end of the bristle can be achieved can.
- the present invention in the cross section of the monofilament present and preferred with plastic filled areas will be one or more predetermined breaking points within formed of the monofilament. These predetermined breaking points are located approximately where the At least two areas adjacent to each other. Should one of such a monofilament produced bristles are spliced at their free end, it is not this more necessary to use expensive cutting tools or the like. Instead it is sufficient to machine the free end of the bristle mechanically. Such mechanical processing, for example, by upsetting, knocking, rounding, Cutting, grinding, polishing, hitting or the like of the free end of the bristle be performed. This mechanical processing of the free end of the bristle has to Result that the different areas present in the cross section of the described Break apart predetermined breaking points.
- the thickness of the bristles may be between 0.1 mm and 0.25 mm, preferably between 0.15 mm and 0.18 mm.
- the cross section of the bristle may be substantially the shape of a assume three- or Mohiza phenomenon cloverleaf or star.
- the lateral surface of the monofilament have a helical structure.
- the bristle in a simple manner a monofilament can be produced, with a splice in a simple manner the free end of the bristle is reached.
- the areas are off made of a plastic and a cavity. This will be done achieved that the areas during the extrusion of the monofilament be made with cavities or channels.
- the areas can be made up of different fillers and / or made of different colors.
- the predetermined breaking points arise in the described first embodiment at the transitions or interfaces between the areas, the Cavities or between the different fillers and / or the different colors. In this way - as described - a splicing of the free end of the bristle be achieved without much effort.
- the areas are by splitting and subsequently recombining the mass flow in the extrusion of the Monofilaments produced. This is achieved in that during the extrusion of the monofilament the mass flow of the plastic is first divided into several strands to afterwards to be reunited into a common strand.
- the areas may be made of the same plastic, wherein the predetermined breaking point at the Interface of the areas is formed. Splitting and subsequent recombining As a result, at those transitions where the individual strands again be merged, no intimate composite of the plastic of the various Strands arises. This can be achieved by a general intervention in the temperature control of the Plastic or extrodierwerkmaschinemaschinemaschinemaschinemaschinemaschinemaschinees be effected. These transitions provide predetermined breaking points as already explained, by simple mechanical processing can be transferred into a splice. It is thus in this second embodiment by splitting and rejoining possible without much effort splice off the bristle resulting from the monofilament.
- the monofilament is twisted either deducted from a rotating central coil, or it is by means of a rotating nozzle withdrawn from a standing central coil.
