Gemäß der Erfindung wird vorgeschlagen, daß ein erhitzter Stempel mit Vorsprüngen zwischen den Löchern in die Masse der Träger eindringt und diese erweicht sowie seitlich bis in die Zwischenräume der Borstenbüschel verdrängt. Bei diesem Vorgang wird zunächst das Material der Träger erweicht und verformt, so daß es die Enden der Borstenbüschel eng umschließt und durch Eindringen in die Zwischenräume zwischen den Borsten einen engen Formschluß herstellt. Bei der bevorzugten Ausführungsform des Verfahrens wird dann der Stempel mit seiner zwischen den Vorsprüngen gelegenen Fläche an den axialen Enden der Borstenbüschel angedrückt, wobei die verdrängte Masse der Borsten über die verformte Masse des Trägers greift. Auf diese Weise entsteht ein inniger Verbund zwischen den Trägern und den Borstenbüscheln. Die Vorsprünge umgreifen dabei die axialen Enden der Borstenbüschel und geben der verschmolzenen Kunststoffmasse eine genau vorgegebene Form. Der in Figur 1 gezeigte plättchenförmige Träger 10 besteht aus
thermoplastischem Kunststoff und ist mit einer Vielzahl von
durchgehenden Löchern 12 versehen, deren Anordnung einem gewünschten
Lochbild bzw. Borstenfeld der Bürste entspricht. In die Löcher 12
werden, wie in Figur 2 gezeigt, Borstenbüschel 14 eingesetzt, so daß
sie mit den nutzungsseitigen Enden 14a auf der einen Hauptfläche des
Trägers 10 herausragen und auf der gegenüberliegenden Fläche mit den
in der Bürste zu verankernden Enden 14b geringfügig herausragen. Ein
beheizbarer Stempel 16 mit einer Vielzahl von ringförmigen Vorsprüngen
18 wird in Gegenüberlage zu den Enden 14b der Borstenbüschel 14
gebracht, wie in Figur 2 gezeigt. Der Stempel 16 wird dann, wie durch
einen Pfeil in Figur 2 angedeutet, gegen die Enden 14b der
Borstenbüschel 14 bewegt, wobei die Vorsprünge 18 zunächst zwischen
den Löchern 12 bzw. den darin eingesetzten Borstenbüscheln 14 in das
Material des Trägers 10 eindringen. Bei diesem Vorgang wird das
Material des Trägers 10 erweicht und zugleich gegen die Borstenbüschel
14 verdrängt, wobei es auch in die Zwischenräume zwischen den Borsten
eindringt, wie in Figur 3 dargestellt. Das Material des Trägers 10
bewegt sich auch radial und umschließt die axialen Enden 14b der
Borstenbüschel 14. Das Material der erweichten Borsten wird ebenfalls
auch radial verdrängt und greift über die geformten Erhebungen des
Trägers, die zwischen den eingedrungenen Vorsprüngen 18 des Stempels
16 entstehen, wie in Fig. 4 dargestellt. Man sieht dort den engen
Verbund zwischen Träger 10 und den verformten Enden 14b der
Borstenbüschel 14. Wie weiter in Figur 4 ersichtlich ist, sind die
Enden 14b der Borstenbüschel mit dem sie umgebenden und zwischen ihnen
eingedrungenen Material des Trägers 10 zu plateauartigen Vorsprüngen
umgeformt. Der Träger 10 mit den darin verankerten Borstenbüscheln 14
kann so in einen Bürstenkörper eingebaut werden, beispielsweise durch
Einlegen in eine Spritzgußform und Umspritzen mit Kunststoffmasse.
Alternativ werden die Träger mechanisch an einem Bürstenkörper
befestigt, oder sie werden mit dem Bürstenkörper verschweißt, z.B.
