The first threshold rotation device 57 (FIG. 1) in FIG Machine longitudinal direction twisted sleepers are at the threshold transfer point 58 passed to the second conveyor section 51 by by loading the drive 54, the transfer conveyor 53 in the Conveying plane of the second conveyor section 51 is lowered.     Claims (2)

    1. A machine (1) for removing an old track and laying a new track (4), including a machine frame (6) supported on rail undercarriages (5), and a sleeper laying device (21) arranged between the rail undercarriages (5) for laying new sleepers (3), and a sleeper lifting device (43) for raising old sleepers (3), and also including a sleeper conveying unit (47), extending in the longitudinal direction of the machine, which has a sleeper receiving end (50) positioned ahead of the sleeper laying device (21) with regard to the operating direction, and that the sleeper conveying unit (47) is composed of a first conveying section (49), containing the said sleeper receiving end (50) and having a transfer end (52) situated behind the sleeper laying device (21), and a second conveying section (51), positioned underneath the first conveying section (49) and extending in the longitudinal direction of the machine, for receiving the sleepers (3) from the transfer end (52), with a delivery end (56) of the second conveying section (51) being provided immediately behind the sleeper laying device (21), characterized in that both conveying sections (49,51) comprise a common transfer conveyor belt (53) positioned behind the sleeper laying device (21), thus forming a sleeper transfer site (58), and that the transfer conveyor belt (53) is designed for vertical adjustment by means of a drive (54) from the first to the second conveying section (49,51) and vice versa and has a rotation drive (55) for actuation, as desired, to transport sleepers in the operating direction or opposite to the operating direction of the machine (1).
    2. A machine according to claim 1, characterized in that the second conveying section (51), positioned underneath the first conveying section (49), has a sleeper rotating device (57) for rotating the sleeper (3) from a position extending in the longitudinal direction of the machine into a transverse position extending perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the machine.
