Abstract

Es wird ein Turmofen zur Wärmebehandlung von Metallbändern mit einem Vorwärmabschnitt (3) und einem daran nach oben anschließenden, ein vom Vorwärmabschnitt (3) gesondertes Gehäuse (4) bildenden Hochtemperaturabschnitt (5) beschrieben, wobei der mit einer vorzugsweise gasbeheizten Muffel (7) ausgerüstete Vorwärmabschnitt (3) einen oben in die Muffel (7) eingesetzten Anschlußstopfen (6) aus wärmeisolierendem Werkstoff für den Hochtemperaturabschnitt (5) aufweist. Um vorteilhafte Konstruktionsbedingungen zu schaffen, wird vorgeschlagen, daß der Hochtemperaturabschnitt (5) ebenfalls mit einer vorzugsweise gasbeheizten Muffel (12) versehen ist, die den Anschlußstopfen (6) außen umschließt und an diesen vorzugsweise über eine Flüssigkeitsdichtung (14) gasdicht anschließt.
