Abstract

The strip has a lower large-diameter basket (2) and a higher small-diameter basket (3) centered on a vertical axis. An input unit feeds metal strips on the edge of the large-diameter outer basket, to form a large diameter spiral (21). A helicoidal guide (8) feeds the spiral inner end to the inner basket. Rollers (4) straighten the spiral upon leaving the inner basket. An Independent claim is also included for the looping method.
