Abstract

In an upper-layer information memory (3), the higher four bits of an upper-layer information stored so far are updated by the use of a four-bit sample value input from a sample-value update circuit (6), and the lower four bits of the upper-layer information are updated by the use of a four-bit class code input from a class-code selection circuit (8).
