Abstract

The winding device has the metal band wound onto a number of reels (11), each provided with a winding thorn (7,7') and rotated by a respective drive (8,8'). Two of the winding thorns are positioned at a constant distance and moved in synchronism on opposite directions between a winding position (A) and a reel removal position (C), with a ready wound position (B,B') for each of the reels on opposite sides of the winding and removal position, so that one reel is in the winding position when the other reel is in the winding position. An Independent claim for a continuous winding method for a rolled metal band is also included.
