La présente invention concerne un procédé de gonflage d'une enveloppe de pneumatique (20), consistant à former, à l'intérieur d'une enceinte (20, 32) où sont enfermés la jante (10) et les bourrelets (21 et 22) de l'enveloppe (20), un orifice de gonflage entre un premier siège (13) de jante (10) et un premier bourrelet (21), puis à introduire de l'air comprimé dans cet orifice et à le fermer de sorte que l'enveloppe (20) soit gonflée et montée d'une manière étanche sur la jante (10). Avant de former cet orifice, on utilise l'enveloppe (20) de manière que le premier bourrelet (21) se trouve axialement à l'extérieur du premier siège (13) et que le second bourrelet (22) soit monté d'une manière étanche sur le second siège (14), puis, pour former cet orifice, on appuie ponctuellement sur le premier bourrelet (21).
