Es ist weiter vorteilhaft die Höhe der Saugschachtöffnung beziehungsweise die Lage des Besens so zu regeln, daß plötzlich Bodenunebenheiten, wie zum Beispiel Bordsteinkanten, ein rechtzeitiges Anheben des Saugschachtes oder Besens bewirken, so daß eine entsprechenden Regelung zum Beispiel neben den aufgenommenen Sensorsignalen auch die momentane Fahrgeschwindigkeit des Fahrzeuges berücksichtigt. Sensorelementen 10 kann das Profil der zu reinigenden Oberfläche erfaßt werden,
auf welchem die Räder 1a, 1b des Fahrzeuges laufen. Erkennt ein Sensor 10 eine
Bodenunebenheit 12, so werden die übermittelten Signale des Sensors 10 von einer
geeigneten Steuerung in Ansteuersignale des Saugschachtes 6 beziehungsweise
des Besens 7 umgesetzt, so daß der Saugschacht 6 beziehungsweise der
Besen 7 rechtzeitig vor Erreichen der Bordsteinkante 12 angehoben werden, um
eine Beschädigung dieser Teile zu verhindern. Fährt das Fahrzeug zum Beispiel
mit dem vorderen Rad 1a über die Bordsteinkante 12, so wird von der Steuerung
unter Berücksichtigung der Geschwindigkeit des Fahrzeuges zunächst der Besen 7
angehoben, woraufhin der Saugschacht 6 kurz vor Erreichen der Bordsteinkante 12
ebenfalls angehoben wird. Hierzu wird der aus dem hydraulischen Zylinder 8a herausragende
Kolben 8b in den Zylinder 8a eingefahren, um den Saugschacht 6 in
Bezug auf das Fahrzeug einzufahren und die Saugschachtöffnung anzuheben. Der
Saugschacht 6 ist in seinem oberen Bereich über eine verformbare Verbindung mit
einer nicht gezeigten Saugvorrichtung verbunden, so daß eine gewünschte Saugkraft
