Abstract

The packaging box comprises a body (11) and a cover (12) which can pivot around an edge (13). The body has a front face (14) and the cover has a flap (16) which is parallel to the body front face when closed. A tab (19a) on the lower edge of the flap penetrates a slot (19) in the front face to hold the cover closed. The roller is formed from a succession of sections separated from each other by a pre-cut line. The upper edge of the front face has a projection (18) near the cover which engages the pre-cut line of the sheet roll during its unwinding from the roller.

Description

The present invention relates to a packaging box for contain a roll of sheet material, this material being made successive sections linked together by a precut line, said sections being able to be separated as and when unwinding of the roller by pulling the user on the section end. Within the meaning of the present application, the generic term "sheet material" covers, in particular, a succession of bags formed by two superimposed sheets linked together suitable for making bags.

In order for the tear to be carried out easily, it is known to conform the packaging appropriately. To do this, the packaging, which has a rectangular shape, has a lid can be opened to allow passage to a section of the roll, said cover generally constituting the upper wall of the packaging and being linked to a flap formed by the upper part from the front of the package, the other part of the front, i.e. that which is not linked to the cover, being provided with a projection corresponding to a recess of the flap linked to the cover for authorize the replacement of the cover. This projection rubs on the sheet material as it rolls out of the packaging and cooperates with the pre-cut line of a section to stop the unwinding of the roll, so that the traction exerted by the user on the section leads to the tearing of the material in sheet to the right of the precut line.

In such an embodiment, the lid flap has therefore, in its central zone, a recess corresponding to the projection of the front panel, so that this hollowed out area does not allow build a tab to close the packaging by inserting said tongue in a slot provided for this purpose on the lower part from the front of the package. As a result, the cover can be replaced on the body in the closed position but cannot have no locking means ensuring its retention in the closed position. Such a locking device making it possible to keep the lid of a package in the closed position is known per se for packaging which does not include a collection in the lid flap, due to the fact that the front of the packaging does not have a projection intended to cooperate with a precut line: this is the case, for example, of packaging for aluminum foil roll for household use.

The present invention aims to provide a box of the type defined above in which we can benefit the times of the presence of a projection on the upper edge of the front face of packaging and a slit-tab assembly allowing the maintenance of the cover in a position that corresponds to the closing of the box by engagement of said tongue in said slot.

The present invention therefore relates to a box packaging in the form of a rectangular parallelepiped intended for enclosing a roll of sheet material, said box comprising a body and a cover, which forms the upper part of the box and is likely to rotate relative to the body around an edge substantially parallel to the axis of the roller, the body having a face front and the cover having a flap which, in the position of closure of the box, is parallel to said front face and placed on the side of the front face where the roller is not, a tab being formed on the lower edge of the flap and which can penetrate into a slot in said front face to hold the cover in its position corresponding to the closing of the box, characterized by the roller is made up of a succession of separate sections from each other by a precut line and that the border upper of the front face comprises at least one projection adjacent to the cover in its position corresponding to the closing of the box, said projection being able to cooperate with a precut line of the sheet material of the roll during the unwinding of said roll.

In a preferred embodiment, the front face of the body of the box has a single projection which is provided in the central area the upper edge of said front face; the projection of said upper border may have a trapezoidal shape.

We can foresee that the tongue formed on the border bottom of the lid flap is arranged in the central area of said lower border.

Advantageously, the lid flap is, before the first opening of the box, secured to the front face of the box body by bands formed on either side of the tongue, said bands being connected to the flap by a pre-cut line and being fixed on the lower part of the front panel. Preferably, the slit on the face front is formed between said strips, in line with the tongue when the lid flap covers the front panel in the closed position e the box.

The box according to the invention finds a particularly application interesting when the roll of sheet material is a roll of plastic bags, for example a roll of plastic bags freezing.

It is found that the box according to the invention allows to benefit two advantages simultaneously: on the one hand, the box has a slot-tongue assembly which allows, after the first opening of the box, keep the cover in the position that corresponds to the closing the box; on the other hand, the box has, on the edge upper side of its front face, a projection making it easier to tearing of a precut line of the sheet material in hanging on this precut line when the user pulls the upstream section of the sheet material to extract it from the box by unwinding of the roller. Until today, there was no packaging boxes having these two essential characteristics; the closure by the slit-tab assembly already existed on many packaging and, in particular, on the packaging boxes of rolls of aluminum sheets; the projection carried by the front face already existed for a packaging box intended to contain a roll of sheet material consisting of a succession of separate sections the each other by a cutting line but, in this case, the projection was not provided on the upper border of the front face but on a median zone of this face, which required folding the front face so that the projection appears on the fold edge and, in this case, the projection was taken on the flap of the cover, from which it resulted that this flap had a recess in the area where it was necessary to reveal a tab for locking the cover in its closed position of the box.

To better understand the object of the invention, we will describe now, as a purely illustrative example and not limiting, an embodiment shown in the accompanying drawing.

Referring to the drawing, we see that Figure 1 shows a packaging box of the prior art in which the roll of sheet material has not been shown. This box is a rectangular parallelepiped and has a body designated by 1 as a whole and a cover designated by 2, the body and the cover being connected along an edge 3 parallel to the major axis of the box, that is to say -Tell the long axis of the roll conditioned in the box. The box is shown in its open position. The front face 4 of the box body carries, on its lower part, a strip 5 which is glued to the front face 4 and which, before the first opening of the box, was integral with the flap 6 of the cover 2. The front face 4 includes a wide obviously obtained by folding of the upper portion 4a of the face 4 toward the interior of the box, this folding is made possible by cut lines from the upper edge of the front face to the vicinity of the strip 5. The flap 6 has a height which corresponds to the difference between the height of the front face 4 before folding and the height of the strip 5. The flap 6 has been separated from the strip 5 along a line of pre-cut at the time of the first opening of the box and this pre-cut line shows a projection 7, which corresponds to an obviously 7 a of the flap 6. Likewise, the front face has a pre-cut line which allows to remain, in rear of projection 7 , a projection 8, from which it follows that the projections 7 and 8 cooperate to cause a tearing of the sheet material of the roll at a pre-cut line of said sheet material. It is very clear that, in this embodiment, it is completely impossible to provide on the flap 6 of the cover 2 a tongue capable of ensuring the maintenance of the cover 2 in its closed position, because this tongue should be located in the central area of the flap, which is occupied by the recess 7 a .

Figures 2 to 6 show a packaging box according to the invention. We see that this box is a rectangular parallelepiped in carton and has a body designated by 11 as a whole and a cover 12, the body and the cover being connected along an edge 13 parallel to the major axis of the box, that is to say to the major axis of the roller 20 packaged in the box. The cover 12 has a flap 16, disposed opposite the edge 13. The front face 14 of the box body carries, on its lower part, two bands 15 arranged symmetrically relative to the transverse plane of symmetry of the box, that is to say at plane marked with V in FIG. 3. The strips 15 are glued to the face before 4 and are, before the first opening of the box, integral with the flap 16 of cover 12, a pre-cut line (shown in line mixed in Figure 2) separating the flap 16 and the strips 15. At the first opening of the box, the user separates the flap 16 from bands 15 so as to allow the opening of the box by lifting of the cover, as shown in Figure 3.

The front face 4 comprises, between the strips 15, a slot in the form of an arc of a circle, the ends of the slot being covered by the ends of the strips 15. The flap 16 comprises, in its central zone, a tongue 19a, of which the width corresponds to the distance between the strips 15, the tongue 19 a having a height which corresponds to the height of the strips 15 in the vicinity of the slot 19. In this way, when the box is closed by closing the cover 12 on the body 11, the tongue 19 a is housed inside the slot 19 to maintain the cover 12 on the body 11.

Along its upper border, i.e. on the side of the cover 12, the front face 14 has a protrusion 18 of shape trapezoidal. The cover 12 comes, in the closed position of the box, in contact with the upper edge of the projection 18. When the user, having opened the box, pulls the constituent sheet material from the roll 20 packaged in the box, the sheet material comes lean on the projection 18 which, when passing a line of precut of said sheet material, will be able to hang on the pre-cut line and thus cause a tear separating two successive sections of the sheet material under the tensile force exercised by the user in the direction of arrow F in FIG. 5. A precut line is generally made up of a succession of short slots separated from each other by zones of short uncut length. To facilitate the attachment of the projection 18 on a precut line, it is advantageous to provide that the area of the precut line that will pass at the right of the projection 18 at during the unwinding of the roll is fully split on a length corresponding substantially to the length of the projection; of this way, the projection fully penetrates into this slot, which facilitates tearing of sheet material and separation of two successive sections of said material. This provision is particularly effective when the sheet material consists of two sheets of plastic forming the two large sides of a bag such as a freezer bag, for example.

We therefore see that the box according to the invention allows to benefit both of a projection 18 intended for tearing at a pre-cut sheet material and a 19-tab slot assembly 19a intended to maintain the cover 12 in its closed position.

It is understood that the above embodiment described is in no way limiting and may give rise to all desirable modifications without departing from the scope of the invention.

Claims (7)

Packaging box in the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped for enclosing a roll (20) of sheet material, said box comprising a body (11) and a cover (12), which forms the upper part of the box and is capable of pivoting relative to the body (11) around an edge (13) substantially parallel to the axis of the roller (20), the body (11) having a front face (14) and the cover (12) comprising a flap (16) which, in the closed position of the box, is parallel to said front face (14) and placed on the side of the front face (14) where the roller (20) is not located, a tongue (19 a ) being formed on the lower edge of the flap (16) and being able to penetrate into a slot (19) of said front face (14) to maintain the cover (12) in its position corresponding to the closing of the box, characterized by the fact that the roller (20) consists of a succession of sections separated from each other by r a pre-cut line and that the upper edge of the front face (14) has at least one projection (18) near the cover (12) in its position corresponding to the closure of the box, said projection (18) being able to cooperate with a line for precutting the sheet material of the roll (20), during the unwinding of said roll. Packaging box according to claim 1, characterized by causes the front face (14) to have a single projection (18) which is formed in the central area of the upper border of said face before (14). Packaging box according to claim 2, characterized by fact that the projection (18) of the upper edge of the front face (14) has a trapezoidal shape. Packaging box according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the tongue (19 a ) is formed in the central region of the lower edge of the flap (16) of the cover (12). Packaging box according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the flap (16) of the cover (12) is, before the first opening of the box, secured to the front face (14) by strips (15) formed on either side of the tongue (19 a ), said strips (15) being connected to the flap (16) by a pre-cut line and being fixed on the lower part of the front face (14). Packaging box according to claim 5, characterized in that the slot (19) of the front face (14) is formed between the strips (15) in line with the tongue (19 a ) when the flap (16) of the cover (12) covers the front face (14) in the closed position of the box. Packaging box according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the roll (20) of sheet material is a roll of plastic bags.
