Abstract
Dans un procédé d'appariement de deux images, chacune constituée d'une pluralité de pixels et ayant des contenus qui se chevauchent partiellement, le degré de correspondance entre les contenus des images est déterminé pour différentes positions de déplacement représentant différents chevauchements des images. Plus spécifiquement, une pluralité de nombres est déterminée pour chaque position parmi une pluralité desdites positions de déplacement. Chaque nombre est formé à l'aide de valeurs de pixel provenant des deux images et est utilisé pour produire simultanément des valeurs d'évaluation de chevauchement pour au moins deux desdites positions de déplacement. Les valeurs d'évaluation de déplacement trouvées sont ultérieurement utilisées pour déterminer le degré de correspondance entre les images pour les différentes positions de déplacement. Ledit procédé est mis en oeuvre à l'aide d'un ordinateur et peut être mis en oeuvre en tant que programme informatique.
