Abstract

The device includes an insert ram (13) and a cover tongue (6) which can be pre-positioned above the product (4) by a first motion control (9a, 11, 19) and lowered onto the product (4) by a second motion control (8, 9) which has a vertical control face (24a) and a horizontally displaceable element (17) which grips on to the control face. The horizontal displacement of the element can be converted by a conversion device (16, 23) into the vertical lowering movement of the cover tongue. The control face (24a) is formed on a displacement plate (24) and the element gripping over the control face is a cam roller (17).
