      means of driving in rotation at least one of the side plates (11, 14) in such a way as to roll the elongated element (2) on the false centre (15),
         this closure device for a winding (20) being characterised in that it comprises a support (30) in free rotation about the said spindle (12) and at least one actuating element (31, 32), fixed to the said support (30), able to displace radially at least one bent arm (310, 321) comprising a pressing portion (311, 321) fixed in a way parallel to the axis of rotation of the said support (30).
    2. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that each pressing portion (311, 321) is able to take a position of clamping of the last layer of wraps collected on the winding (20) and a position of unclamping of the said last wrap layer collected.
    3. Device according to one of the claims 1 or 2, characterised in that it comprises two actuating elements (31, 32), each being able, simultaneously or separately, to displace radially a bent arm (310, 311) each comprising a pressing portion (311, 312).
    4. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that each actuating element is made up of a jack (31, 32), the piston rod of the said jack actuating directly the corresponding bent arm (310, 320).
    5. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that it comprises an angular position detector (16) detecting the angular position of the side plate (11) and permitting an actuation into a clamping position of the actuating means (31, 32) only for certain predetermined angular spacings between the angular position of the side plate (11) and that of the device.
    6. Device according to claim 5, characterised in that it comprises a first locking element (34) able to lock the said device in at least one predetermined angular position relative to the said side plate (11), the said angular position or positions corresponding to at least one angular position in which the actuating means (31, 32) can be actuated in clamping.
    7. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that it comprises a second locking element (33) able to lock the said device in at least one predetermined angular position relative to the said frame element (10).
    8. Device according to claim 7, characterised in that the second locking element (33) is able to lock the device in two angular positions offset by 180° in a vertical axis
    9. Winding station (1) comprising at least one frame element (10), a side plate (11), able to be set in rotation and fixed to a spindle (12), supported by a bearing (13) fixed to the said frame element (10), and a device (18) for making ligatures, characterised in that it further comprises a closure device according to one of the preceding claims.
    10. Use of a device according to one of the claims 1 to 8 on a winding station, associated with a device (18) for making ligatures, for the holding of the free end of the elongated element (2) intended to constitute the winding during the making of at least one ligature (181, 182) on the said winding (20).
    11. Use of a device according to one of the claims 1 to 8 on a winding station equipped with means allowing disengagement of at least one side plate (12) and a false centre (15) having served the making of the winding, the said device being able to support the finished winding (20) by its two pressing portions (311, 321) and to actuate a single actuator (31, 32) of a pressing portion (311, 321) in such a way as to make the winding swing out of the winding station.
