Die Profilleisten verhindern, dass ein Wärmeeintrag in die Kunststoffhalterung dann erfolgt, wenn ein heißer, beispielsweise mit Öl, befüllter Topf im Randbereich der Glaskeramik-Kochfläche abgestellt ist. Insbesondere lassen sich mit diesen Werkstoffen ausreichende Wandstärken verwirklichen, die letztendlich die hohen Gewichtskräfte, die über die Kochfläche eingebracht werden, sicher aufnehmen können. Weiterhin sind diese Materialien hochtemperaturbeständig und können die beim Betrieb der Kochfläche auftretenden Temperaturbelastungen sicher aufnehmen. Insbesondere ist es auch möglich, auf der Halterung direkt heiße Töpfe abzustellen, ohne dass die Halterung selbst eine Materialbeeinträchtigung erfährt.
