Abstract

The invention concerns a case and a blank made of sheet corrugated cardboard or the like, the case having a polygonal cross section, having side faces, an upper face forming a lid, and a lower face forming the bottom of the case. The lid has at least two tabs located on two opposite sides of the lid, cut from the upper face or from side faces adjacent the upper face. The bottom has at least two recesses on its lower surface corresponding to the tabs, complementary in shape to the tabs and arranged such that the recesses fit into the tabs of a case stacked beneath.

Description

The present invention relates to a case of corrugated sheet material or equivalent, of type having a polygonal section, comprising lateral faces, an upper face forming cover and a lower face forming the bottom of the box.

It also concerns a blank for the creation of such a fund.

It finds a particularly important, although not exclusive, application in the field of stackable boxes on pallets, the lower boxes of which tend to be crushed in the event of a stack of too large a size.
The invention is also applicable to polygonal boxes with more than four sides which can present, when they are not completely filled, deformations in the event of lateral stress as well as a lower resistance to compression.

We already know body centering systems by lateral pins coming to cooperate with orifices placed on the edges of the packaging. Such means are fragile and do not resist handling repeated.

We also know locking systems allowing to block a box cover which then avoids these untimely deformations. he these include strip locking adhesives. However, such systems have disadvantages. They indeed require an element additional constituent of the case, namely the adhesive tape and therefore entails costs and additional operations during the manufacturing.

Document FR-A-2 311 717 describes a package whose lid formed by flaps has flaps in a shape complementary to that of notches practiced in the bottom flaps to avoid sliding of two boxes placed one on top of the other.

The stacking of the boxes obtained is however not never perfectly vertical.

The present invention aims to provide a box and a blank responding better than those previously known to the requirements of practice especially in this that it offers centering of the boxes one on the other making it possible to stack the boxes one on top of the other, directly above one of the other, which has never been achieved in the past, in an industrial and repetitive way.

We could thus observe a 15% improvement in compressive strength of the boxes located in pallet base, with equal cardboard quality, thanks to the centering according to the invention.

Due to the perfect stacking possibilities that the centering according to the invention allows, the boxes are therefore better used in compression and resist better.

With the invention, it is also possible to provide a lid locking system allowing a good squaring of the body during its closing, simple and easy to implement, without additional costs and authorizing a blockage final, which further improves the resistance to compression.

To this end, the invention proposes in particular a box of material made of corrugated cardboard sheet or equivalent, having a polygonal section, comprising lateral faces, an upper face forming a cover and a lower face forming the bottom of the box, said upper face. having protruding parts projecting from the outer surface of the upper face, and said bottom comprising recessed parts, of shape complementary to the protruding parts and arranged to fit together with said protruding parts of a box arranged below,
characterized
in that the protruding parts are formed by at least two tabs respectively located on two opposite sides of said cover, cut on one side either in a flap of the upper face, the latter then being formed by the superposition of flaps, or in the side face adjacent to said upper face, and articulated on the other side parallel and substantially coincident with the junction line between said upper face and the adjacent side face, said tabs being respectively folded down on the outer surface of said face to which they are glued, and in that the hollow parts are formed by at least two recesses or by parts of indentations corresponding to said tongues, produced in said lower face, of overall shapes complementary to the shapes of the tongues.

    • Figure 14 shows in perspective another embodiment of boxes according to the invention, with four centering tabs, showing the possibilities of nesting between cover and bottom.
    • FIG. 15 is the blank in plan of the box of FIG. 14.

FIG. 1 shows a box 1 of corrugated cardboard, for example double sided or double double, thick 3 mm or 5 mm, in the shape of a parallelepiped, comprising four rectangular lateral faces 2, 3, 4 and 5, namely two large faces 2 and 4 facing each other and two small end faces 3 and 5 in vis-a-vis.

Box 1 also includes an upper face 6 forming the cover of the box and one side lower 7 forming the bottom of the box.

According to this embodiment of the invention, the cover includes two rectangular tabs 8 and 9, of width greater than 3 cm, for example of 4 cm, and longer than 2 cm, for example 4 cm in length, thickness equal to that of cardboard, and respectively cut in the faces lateral 3 and 5 adjacent to the upper face 6, on three sides of said tabs, which are folded down and glued to the outer face 10 of the upper side, for example with glue says "Hot Melt" in Anglo-Saxon language.

To do this, the tongue is hinged on its fourth side in parallel and substantially combined with junction line 11, between face upper and lateral face, around a double fold line 12 of which at least one line is offset towards the tongue relative to the line of junction 11.

The offset of the double line allows a stall of the end of the tongue on the side of its junction line 12, resulting in a more protruding important at this level which favors the embedding with the recesses in the top box (cf. Figure 1A).

Elles peuvent également être disposées symétriquement par rapport au centre C de la face supérieure 6.The tongues 8 and 9 are for example centered with respect to the corresponding lateral face. They can also be arranged symmetrically by relative to the center C of the upper face 6.

The bottom formed by the underside 7 meanwhile, plumb with the tongues 8 and 9, rectangular recesses 13 and 14 likewise dimension as the tabs with a tolerance adjustment less than a millimeter, which allows perfect embedding between tongue of a lower case and of course a case superior.

The blank 15 comprises a series of four components main 7, 4, 6 and 2 terminated by a tongue 16 of glue extending over the entire length of the shutters.

The shutters are interconnected by lines of folding or joining 17.

The series of shutters is bordered on one side by a first set 18, upper flaps, and the other side by a second set 19, of flaps lower.

More precisely, each main component comprises an upper flap and a lower flap.

Sides 2 and 4, suitable for forming faces sides of the body each include a flap upper 18 'and lower flap 19', rectangular, identical to each other.

The flaps 18 'and 19' are arranged to form the internal part of the side walls 3 and 5 of the box 1, for example by being joined at the level of their ends when the body is made.

The flap 6 intended to form the cover of the body is connected by the fold lines 11, with two rectangular flaps 18 "and 19" which include rectangular tabs 8 and 9.

Chaque languette est découpée sur trois côtés 20 dans le rabat correspondant et est reliée au volet 6 sur le quatrième côté 21 par la double ligne de pliage 12.Each tab is cut on three sides 20 in the corresponding flap and is connected to flap 6 on the fourth side 21 by the double line of folding 12.

A recess 22 or 23, of sufficient width to allow good release of the tongue by relative to the flap, for example of width included between 1 mm and 5 mm, for example 3 mm, is respectively provided around the tongues 8 and 9.

This recess allows the retention of the tongues 8 and 9 horizontally, in the extension of shutter 6 when folding the 18 "and 19" flaps around a mandrel, during the formation of the body.

Then just push from below and fold the tab towards flap 6 around the double fold line 12 to glue said tongue in projecting position to constitute the centering means according to the invention.

Enfin le volet 7 est relié quant-à lui via des lignes de pliage 24 perpendiculaires aux lignes 17, à deux rabats rectangulaires 18‴ et 19‴ de dimensions égales à celles des rabats 18" et 19", mais dépourvus de languette, la dimension transversale des rabats 18",18"', 19" et 19"' étant telle que lesdits rabats sont jointifs deux à deux selon la ligne 25 lorsque la caisse 1 est formée (cf. figure 1).Finally, the flap 7 is connected as for it via fold lines 24 perpendicular to lines 17, at two rectangular flaps 18 ‴ and 19 ‴ of dimensions equal to those of the 18 "and 19" flaps, but without tongue, the transverse dimension of the flaps 18 ", 18" ', 19 "and 19"' being such that said flaps are joined two by two along line 25 when box 1 is formed (see figure 1).

Le volet 7 comprend les deux évidements rectangulaires 13 et 14, par exemple pratiqués dans une partie seulement de l'épaisseur du carton si c'est un double double, dont l'extrémité 26 située du côté du rabat chevauche la ligne de pliage 24, ce qui permet, une fois la caisse formée, de ménager une sur-épaisseur d'évidement 27 plus importante à l'aplomb de la ligne 12, permettant un meilleur encastrement avec la saillie plus importante 28 due au décalage de la double ligne 12.Part 7 includes the two recesses rectangular 13 and 14, for example practiced in only part of the thickness of the cardboard if it is a double double, the end 26 of the side of the flap overlaps fold line 24, which allows, once the box is formed, to spare 27 more overcut thickness at plumb with line 12, allowing better embedding with the larger projection 28 due offset from double line 12.

La figure 1A montre ainsi schématiquement en coupe l'encastrement de la saillie 28' de la caisse 1' dans l'évidement 27 de la caisse 1.Figure 1A shows schematically in section the embedding of the projection 28 'of the body 1' in the recess 27 in the body 1.

Such adjustments are possible with the precision sought, in particular because the cases are formed around mandrels as described in the document FR-A-2 629 012.

In the embodiment described here, it is provided four centering means.

To do this, the central flap 32 has four hollow parts 38, for example identical, centered relative to the side walls of the body, rectangular and one side 39 of which is substantially confused with a central part of the lines of folding 34 and 36.

The blank 40 has a central flap 41 rectangular connected by fold lines perpendicular two by two 42, with flaps rectangular 43.

Each flap 43 has a tongue 44 along the invention, for example rectangular, cut out of three sides in the flap, leaving a recess peripheral 45, and connected on the side of the central flap 41 central flap audit by a double fold line 46, or by a simple fold line offset to the inside of the tongue.

The tongues 44 have a shape complementary to that of the recesses 38 and are therefore arranged for be turned over and glued, for example with "Hot Melt" glue in Anglo-Saxon language, on the face flap 41.

The remaining parts of the flaps 43 are they glued to the outer faces of the flaps 33 and 35 from tray 30.

The series of shutters is finished on one side, by a tongue 55 suitable for being fixed on the periphery of the end flap 51. The flaps are connected between them by first parallel fold lines 56.

The blank includes a first set 57 of flaps located on one side of the flaps and intended to form the bottom of the box, and a second set 58 of flaps located on the other side of the flaps and intended to form the cover of the box.

More precisely, the first set 57 comprises four substantially rectangular flaps connected to the lateral sides of the four flaps by lines of folding 59 aligned, perpendicular to the first fold lines, i.e. two large flaps 60 identical, called external connected to the large shutters 51 and 52 and two small 61 identical flaps called internal, connected to small flaps 53 and 54.

In the embodiment more particularly described here, the two large flaps 60 have a width, transverse, equal or substantially equal to half the width of the closed body.

Each large external flap 60 has two sides side finished on the corner side with the edge parallel device with the fold line 59, by a notch 62 of rectangular shape complementary to that of a half tab which goes be described below.

The small internal 61 flaps are identical and rectangular.

The second set 58 of flaps is connected to the four main strands by third lines of folding 63 perpendicular to the first lines of folding 56.

It has two large identical flaps 64 substantially rectangular external. Each flap external 64 has two lateral sides each provided a notch 65 for example in the form of a portion of circle, at the junction angle with the lines of folding 63, so that said folding line is ends with a portion free of any flap on a distance d, portion which can advantageously be find a little below said line, for allow better embedding.

The edges of the flaps 64 opposite to the third fold lines also include two half-slots 66 located on either side of the flaps, at a determined distance from the lateral edges of said flaps.

Each end of the half-slots is extended by a breakable line 67 over a determined distance, angled to the corner corner of the flap with the third fold line, leading to the end of the cutout 65, junction with this fold line.

The width of the flaps 64, between the third fold lines 63 and the peripheral edges is equal to half the width of the cover of the body so that, when formed, said edges are joined, the half-slots 66 coming in opposite to form two identical slots, parallel, straddling the junction between flaps.

The small flaps 68 are rectangular, for example the same width as the large flaps 64.

They each have a tab 69 rectangular cut on one side in the flap sparing over most of its periphery, that is to say all around except on a small portion on both sides at the fold line, a peripheral recess 70, and connected to the other side to flap 53 or 54 by a fold line 71 slightly offset towards the inside of the flap, thickness of cardboard for example, compared to the third fold line 63, which is divided equally and other of said tab, centered relative to on the flap.

Finally, there are provided breakable lines 72 ′, in bias, cutting the top angles of the little ones flaps, to allow better removal of the lid.

Les figures 6 à 10 montre la formation d'une caisse 73, constituée avec un flan du type correspondant à la figure 5.Figures 6 to 10 show the formation of a box 73, formed with a blank of the type corresponding to figure 5.

In the following, we will use the same numbers reference only for the blank of Figure 5, for designate the same elements.

Le fond 74 est formé de façon connue en elle-même, avec les évidements 75 selon l'invention, obtenus à partir des échancrures 62.The bottom 74 is formed in a manner known per se, with the recesses 75 according to the invention, obtained at from the notches 62.

The bottom of the body being formed and the body erected around a mandrel, we start by folding the small internal flaps 68, the tabs 69 are now then naturally vertically at plumb with the lateral sides 53 and 54 (cf. figures 6 and 7) by releasing the corresponding recesses 70 '.

The lateral parts 76 of the flaps 68 have been previously glued, with "Hot Melt" glue for example, by dots or lines of glue 77, on a sufficient portion to allow good fixing the flaps together, but inside the internal flap relative to the breakable lines 67 of external flaps 64.

The internal flaps do not sink further not, the projecting parts 72 coming to bear on the upper edge of the walls 54, thereby preventing dipping thanks to the back pressure thus exerted.

The outer flaps 64 are then folded down (cf. Figure 8) forming the slots 78, and applied to the internal flaps 68. The dividable lines 67 are entirely outside the points and / or lines of collage 77, which will allow easy tearing of the cover when user pulls from slots 78.

Finally (cf. FIG. 9), the tongues 69 are folded down and glued to the upper side of the external flaps 64 for making the means of centering by tab according to the invention.

To open the box, extremely solid and rigid, just pull according to the arrows 82, as described above.

Les figures 11 et 12 montrent une variante de la caisse décrite en référence aux figures 5 à 10.Figures 11 and 12 show a variant of the body described with reference to Figures 5 to 10.

More specifically, Figures 11 and 12 show a box 83 provided with tabs 84 cut from internal flaps 85.

Each internal flap 85 has on its edges lateral 86, two projecting parts, rectangular, from 2 to 5 mm in width, i.e. the first part protruding 87 at the junction with the line of folding 88, as described with reference to FIG. 5, and a second projecting part 89, at the end, located at the end corner of the flap opposite the lines folding 88.

Each protruding part 87 and 89 is arranged to rest and click into a recess 90 and 91 correspondent at the fold line 92 of the outer flap 93 with the lateral side of the box 94.

When the flaps have been successively folded on top of each other and glued as described above, a box is thus obtained according to FIG. 12 with eight anti-dive projections 95.

Here again the sandwiching of the flaps external between internal flaps and tabs allows excellent squaring and blocking of the body, which behaves like an extremely solid rigid block.

Figure 13 shows another embodiment blank 96 according to the invention for an eight-sided box with cut corners.

The blank 96 comprises four main components 97 and four intermediate components 98 suitable for forming cut corners of the body, said flaps having no flaps, the rest being terminated by a fixing tab suitable for being fixed on the intermediate flap 98 attached to the flap main end 97.

The shutters are interconnected by first 99 parallel fold lines.

Here again, the blank includes a first set flaps intended to form the bottom and a second set of flaps including those with tab 100 as described with reference to the blank in Figure 5.

Each flap of the second set has two lateral sides having a first bias portion at 45 ° towards the outside of the flap from second fold lines 101 which are aligned, said part at an angle being arranged to come over the shutter adjacent intermediary when the body is formed.

The large external flaps of the first set also include this biased portion and end notches 102 to form the bottom recesses according to the invention as described in reference to figure 5.

Figure 14 shows two boxes 103, 103 'along another embodiment of the invention, comprising four tabs 104 and four recesses 105 'correspondents.

Here, two tabs 104 are provided at each end of the big flaps 106 which are here internal, the small flaps 107 being taken into sandwich between the remaining part, openwork of the large flap and the two tabs facing the two large flaps, the edges 108 of which are otherwise adjacent to close the lid.

The tabs are designed identically to which has been described previously. They are cut from the 106 internal flaps with peripheral recess 110, the flaps 107 external being simply rectangular.

The recesses are made in the 111 rectangular flaps identical in size to that of the flaps 106, intended to form the bottom.

The recesses have complementary dimensions with the tabs as described above.

One of the important elements in several modes of realization of the invention lies in the shift to level of the tongue fold line, which can be obtained either by a double fold or by a simply fold line offset, this offset always being greater than or equal to the thickness of the cardboard, towards and inside the tongue.

The offset at the junction of tabs and at the level of the recess plumb, considerably promotes embedding and consolidates so still the stack of boxes during stacking.

Such adjustments are also possible because the boxes can be made with precision sufficient, especially because they are formed around a mandrel.

As it goes without saying and as it results from elsewhere of the above, the present invention is not limited to more embodiments particularly described here. She embraces contrary all the variants and in particular those where it also has a sheet of cardboard reported, strengthening the bottom to avoid holes or holes and those where the joining edges between the bottom flaps are at an angle and not perpendicular to the side faces in opposite and centered.
