Abstract

A hair holder consists of one component (1) which provides a thrust surface (4) for the hair (3) and has at least one or two projections (5) for fastening an elastic tie (2) which holds the hair against the thrust surface. In its simplest for the first component (1) can be a straight rod measuring some 15 cm by 3 sq cm in cross section, and the tie in the form of an elastic band. In other variants the first component can have two projecting lugs and the tie can be an elastic strip with holes to engage with the lugs, of the elastic tie can have rings on its ends for attaching to a rod.

Description

The present invention relates to a device for tying hair in tufts, locks, quilts, pigtails, ponytails and the like.

Metal barrettes and elastic wrapped in wire or fabric are traditionally used to tie the hair, for example on the nape of the neck. Some can slide when they do not enclose a sufficient volume of hair and their articulation elements can catch the hair and pull it out during removal. As for the elastic bands, they require a strong tightening in order not to slip, which makes the installation difficult and hurts the hair which can be pulled out when removed.

In addition, these traditional systems have the annoyance of pulling on the hair by exerting irregular tensions.

The device according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks. According to a first characteristic, it in fact comprises a part having a bearing surface receiving the hair and at least one or two means for attaching a sheathed elastic link, initially independent of said part and capable of being attached to it, said link ensuring the embrace and the tightening, as a reminder against the part, of the lock of hair to be tied when the user stretches it from one hooking means to the other.

When the part has a single means for attaching the link, this means is located on a face opposite to that of the support surface of the hair, the elastic link is then hooked in a loop a first then a second time to this means.

The hair is thus maintained without damage between the surface of the part and the flexible holding line generated by the elastic link.

The part makes it possible to receive variable volumes of hair in their bearing surface, the latter varying in extent as a function of the very volume of hair linked by the user.

The elastic, deformable link makes it possible to link variable volumes of hair.

The elastic link allows an increase in tightening when the user prints a certain number of twists on said link before stretching it from one attachment means to the other, embraces hair to be tied.

When the piece is smooth, removing the device, both to readjust the hairstyle and to undo it, is easy. In fact, the user just has to pull this part to free the hair with a gesture.

The device allows use of the part positioned on the lock of hair to be tied as it allows use of the part positioned under the lock of hair to be tied, it is therefore reversible. The user can thus present to view according to his choice one or the other side of the device.

According to particular embodiments:

With reference to these drawings, the device comprises a part (1) and hooking means (5) of an elastic link (2). The hair (3) applied to a bearing surface (4) is embraced by the link (2) hung and stretched from one means to the other. It further comprises stops (6) and notches (7) for housing the link.

Shapes and embodiments of the elastic links for this device are a function of the shape and the embodiment of the part and of the attachment means carried by the latter. However, the links should preferably be sheathed with thread or fabric so as not to damage the hair.

Number of rigid and semi-rigid materials being capable of allowing the production of parts for this device such as resins, polyesters, glass, as well as wood or metals, this list will be non-limiting and purely indicative.

By reserving a support surface for the hair, the piece as well as the link can include ornaments, possibly advertising, both planes and in volume, as soon as means for mutual attachment of the link and the piece are provided.

The two elements of the device can be independently replaced at the option of the user.

By way of nonlimiting example, the dimensions of the piece may be in a parallelepiped of about 15 cm for the length and 3 cm square for the section, and its weight may be of the order of 10 g.

The device can be used to tie all kinds of bundles, for example bouquets of flowers, wreaths, scarves, etc.

The device is particularly intended for styling long and milong hair.

Claims (11)

Device for tying tufts, locks, quilts, pigtails, ponytails and the like, the hair, characterized in that it comprises a part (1) having a bearing surface (4) receiving the hair (3) and at at least one or two hooking means (5) of an elastic link (2), initially independent of the part and capable of being hooked to it, ensuring the embrace and the tightening, as a rapp against the part, of the wick hair (3) to be tied when the user stretches the link (2) from one hooking means (5) to the other. When the part (1) comprises a single means of attachment (5) of the link (2), this means is located on a face opposite to that of the bearing surface (4) of the hair (3), the elastic link (2) is then hooked in a loop a first then a second time to this means (5). Device according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the part (1) has at least two open ends allowing the link (2) to be threaded to tension it. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the part (1) has stops (6) preventing any slippage of the part outside the link (2) in tension. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the part (1) comprises notches (7) allowing the housing and the blocking of the link (2) in tension.
