Abstract

The invention concerns a method for discriminating between signals generated by means sensitive to variations in the pressure of a gaseous fluid. This method is characterized in that, in order to discriminate between electrical signals, it operates as follows: when a means (5) sensitive to pressure variations generates an electrical signal, the evolution of the amplitude of at least one characteristic of this signal is monitored and, when two successive amplitude variations (A1, A2) substantially opposite relative to a median value (M) are detected, a means (6) for informing people is inhibited, whereas when amplitude variations of a different type are detected, the means (6) for informing people is activated.

Description

The invention relates to a method for discriminating signals used in the field of intrusion detection in a room.

The invention relates to the field of intrusion detection in a room and relates specifically to a method of discriminating the signals produced by the less a means sensitive to variations in the pressure of a gaseous fluid constituting the atmosphere of said room.

The invention also relates to devices for implementing the method of the invention.

By room is meant any closed volume capable of receiving at least one no one, such as a room in a building, a shed, a vehicle interior.

The technical field of the invention is that of detection devices intrusions into a room, such as those operating by detecting at least a variation in pressure in said room, such as that resulting from the opening of minus an exit from this room.

The invention relates more particularly but not exclusively to a improvement of the device which is the subject of patent FR-A-2,696,033 of the applicant.

Detection devices of this type use at least one means which, sensitive to the air pressure of the monitored room, generates an electrical signal by report with any variation of the pressure noted in the said local.

Intrusion detection devices that work this way, are sensitive to pressure variations generated in the room by phenomena external to the local area, such as those resulting from a gale or a displacement of air generated by the passage of a vehicle.

By juxtaposition of signals from the two detectors, this device allows the deactivation of an alarm when a condition relative to the signal from the external detector is reached.

A first object of the invention is a method of signal discrimination produced by at least one pressure-sensitive means in the field of intrusion detection in a room.

To this end, the invention as claimed relates to a method for discriminating the signals produced by at least one pressure-sensitive means in the field of intrusion detection in a room characterized in that, to discriminate the signals electric:
  • when the means sensitive to variations in pressure produces an electrical signal, the evolution of the amplitude of at least one characteristic of this signal is monitored and,
  • when two successive variations in amplitudes which are substantially opposite with respect to a median value are detected, the means of information of persons is inhibited while,
  • when variations in amplitude of another nature are detected, the person's information medium is activated.

The invention also relates to devices for implementing the method of the invention.

The invention will be better understood with the aid of the description below made by way of of nonlimiting example with regard to the drawing, attached hereto, which represents schematically a device which implements the method of the invention.

En se reportant au dessin, on voit un dispositif 1 de détection d'une intrusion dans un local 2, ce dispositif étant du type de ceux fonctionnant par détection d'au moins une variation de la pression de l'atmosphère gazeuse 3 régnant dans ledit local 2, telle une variation de pression résultant de l'ouverture d'au moins une issue 4 de ce local 2.Referring to the drawing, we see a device 1 for detecting an intrusion in a room 2, this device being of the type of those operating by detection of at minus a variation in the pressure of the gaseous atmosphere 3 prevailing in said room 2, such as a pressure variation resulting from the opening of at least one outlet 4 of this room 2.

This device 1 comprises at least:
  • a means 5 which, sensitive to variations in the pressure of the gaseous atmosphere of the premises, is capable of producing at least one electrical signal S reflecting at least the variations of this pressure and,
  • at least one means 6 exploiting this signal with a view to informing people (not shown) as to the detection of an intrusion into the room equipped with the device.

Remarkably, to discriminate between electrical signals:
  • when the means 5 sensitive to pressure variations produces an electrical signal, the evolution of the amplitude of at least one characteristic of this signal is monitored and,
  • when two successive variations in amplitudes A1, A2 are substantially opposite with respect to a median value M, the means 6 for informing people are inhibited while,
  • when variations in amplitude of another nature are detected, the means 6 for informing people are activated.

During his research, the inventor found that variations in pressure generated in the atmosphere of a room following a natural event outside the room, like a gust of wind, produce a change in pressure comprising two waves of opposite amplitudes.

The present process is therefore based on the exploitation of this phenomenon.

The means for implementing the process of the invention are remarkable in that they include:
  • means 7 for monitoring the development of the amplitude of at least one characteristic of this signal and for detecting two successive variations in amplitudes which are substantially opposite with respect to a median value, and
  • a means 8 for inhibiting the means 6 for informing people when two successive variations in amplitudes substantially opposite with respect to a median value are detected.

Means 5 which, sensitive to variations in the pressure of the atmosphere gas in the room, is capable of producing at least one electrical signal S reflecting variations in this pressure, is of the type comprising at least two elements 5A appreciably distinct and separated from each other by a determined value.
