Description

The present invention relates to a device for folding a flexible, continuously fed band material, in particular an elastic textile band, in zigzag loops, with a back and forth movable laying carriage which has two laying rollers which are arranged next to one another and have mutually parallel axes and rotate in the same direction, between which the strip material is drawn in from a feed side and folded by the back and forth movement of the laying carriage perpendicular to the strip pull-in direction and moved further in a discharge direction corresponding to the pull-in direction, as well as with braking means for applying a pressing force in the folding area to the longitudinal edges of the strip material, using as a braking means A pressure bar is arranged in the area of the laying rollers on the band exit side thereof, the length of which is at least equal to the range of movement of the laying carriage and which runs parallel to it.

Such a device is known from DE 31 14 395 C2 and from parallel EP 0 062 753 B1. This Known device has already proven itself very well in practical use, since it ensures a uniformly good laying quality with regard to the constancy of the length of the zigzag loops due to the provided braking means even with elastic band material. However, at particularly high working speeds, the problem can arise that the zigzag loop that has just been laid moves back against the feed direction and then possibly swallows between the pressure bar and the laying carriage.

The present invention is therefore based on the object, starting from the known generic device, to improve it in such a way that the continuity of the workflow is increased even with problematic, elastic band material, i.e. downtimes of the device caused by faults can be avoided.

According to the invention, this is achieved in that the pressure strip has recesses arranged in its band pressure surface over the length to form band retention edges.

According to the invention, the pressure surface in the longitudinal direction of the pressure bar is interrupted in some areas such that the strip material acted upon in the transverse direction with the pressure force and thus slightly arched in the transverse direction bulges with its longitudinal edge in some areas into the recesses and is thereby "held" by the retaining edges. This effectively prevents the tape loop that has just been laid back in the direction of the feed side.

The invention is based on the finding that, especially in the case of elastic band material, the "loop package" already laid can produce a very large back force acting against the laying direction, which can then push back the last loop laid. By means of the invention, however, the loop that was last placed is securely held against the high retention force by the retaining edges. This advantageously allows processing even with problematic strip materials at high working speeds of up to 100 to 120 m / min.

Appropriately, the in particular essentially straight-line retaining edges lie on an imaginary connecting straight line, which in turn corresponds approximately to the position and the course of the last zigzag loop placed. As a result, the loop which has just been laid by means of the laying carriage is immediately placed in the area in which the retaining edges are arranged, so that each loop is immediately held or fixed by the retaining edges.

The pressure bar itself preferably consists of a mechanically simple and quickly editable material, such as in particular hard paper or the like (better known under the trademark "Pertinax"). In this case, it is particularly advantageous if the retaining edges are in each case part of insert elements, in particular detachably connected to the pressure bar, which can then consist of a hard, wear-resistant material, such as steel. This configuration is particularly advantageous in that, especially at high working speeds, there is a not insignificant friction from the strip material is exerted on the pressure bar. The steel insert elements thus achieve a significant improvement in the service life of the device.

Further advantageous design features of the invention are contained in the subclaims and the following description.

A device 1 according to the invention, as illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 3, serves to fold a flexible, in particular elastically stretchable band material 2 into zigzag loops 2a one behind the other in a packet-like manner. The folded strip material 2 or its loops 2a then has straight, parallel sections and lateral 180 ° turns 2b. 2 and 3, the zigzag loops 2a are shown somewhat apart for reasons of clarity; in practice, however, they lie close together. This tape material folded in this way is then further processed in the textile industry; it enables easy removal in the direction of any processing machine. In addition, tape materials folded in this way can be stored and shipped in a much more compact manner than would be possible, for example, with spools.

The device 1 according to the invention has a support plate 4 for the band material 2 to be folded or for the folded zigzag loops 2a. Above the support plate 4, a laying carriage 6 is arranged such that it can be moved back and forth perpendicularly to the tape feed direction X, see arrows Y in FIGS. 2 and 3. The laying carriage 6 has two laying rollers 7 and 8, which are mounted next to one another so as to be rotatable about two parallel axes are. The axes of rotation of the laying rollers 7, 8 run perpendicular to the direction of displacement Y of the laying carriage 6 and perpendicular to the tape pull-in direction X. A vertical guide gap for the tape material 2 to be laid is formed between the two peripheral surfaces of the laying rollers 7, 8; The strip material 2 runs into the guide direction X in this guide gap. The strip material 2 is in vertical, i.e. upright position. The gap between the laying rollers 7, 8 is dimensioned such that the strip material 2 is dragged along by the circumferential surface of one of the two laying rollers 7, 8. The laying rollers 7, 8 are each driven in the same direction, the direction of rotation being dependent on the direction of displacement of the laying carriage 6.

This dependency is illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 3, according to which when the laying carriage 6 is shifted to the left (solid arrow Y), the laying rolls 7, 8 turn to the right turn (solid arrow W). When shifting to the right (dashed arrow Y), the laying rollers 7, 8 turn to the left (dashed arrow W). As a result, the strip material 2 is carried along by the laying roller 7 or 8, which is at the rear in the direction of displacement, and is drawn in and thus transported on. Due to the drive described, banding in regular zigzag loops 2a is achieved. The change in the direction of rotation W of the laying rollers 7, 8 takes place at the reversal point of the shifting movement of the laying carriage 6. By laying the strip material 2, the zigzag loops placed are pushed on in a packet-like manner, that is to say they are moved further in a discharge direction X 'corresponding to the direction of feed X.

In order to brake the relatively quickly incoming strip material 2 in the laying area behind the laying carriage 6 and thus to promote the formation of loops, braking means are provided which apply a pressing force F in the folding area to the longitudinal edges of the strip material 2. An essential component of this braking means is a pressure bar 12, which is arranged in the area of the laying rollers 7, 8 on its band exit side and whose length is at least equal to the range of movement of the laying carriage 6. The pressure bar 12 runs parallel to the direction of displacement of the laying carriage 6 and preferably above it, so that it acts on the upper longitudinal edge of the strip material 2 by pressing the strip material 2 with its lower pressure surface 14 facing the strip from top to bottom. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the pressure bar 12 interacts with a lower brake bar 16 arranged in the area of the support plate 4, in that the band or its last loop 2a is practically clamped between the brake bar 16 and the pressure bar 12 becomes.

The present invention now relates to an improvement in the area of the pressure bar 12. Reference is made in particular to FIGS. 4 to 9, according to which, according to the invention, the pressure bar 12 has recesses 18 arranged in its tape pressure surface 14 over the length of the bar to form tape retaining edges 20 . As is clear in FIGS. 8 and 9, according to the invention the pressure surface 14 is thus interrupted in some areas in the longitudinal direction of the pressure bar 12 in such a way that the strip material 2 acted upon in the transverse direction by the pressure force F or the respective zigzag loop 2a aligns with the longitudinal edge of the strip 22 arches in regions into the recesses 18 and is thereby held by the retaining edges 20. In this way, a return movement of the tape loop 2a just laid in the direction of the feed side 10 is effectively avoided.

Hierbei werden die Ausnehmungen 18 in Richtung der Zuführseite 10 durch die Rückhaltekanten 20 begrenzt.4, the recesses 18 are designed and arranged in such a way that the retaining edges 20 each run essentially rectilinearly and in particular lie on a common imaginary connecting straight line 24, which in turn corresponds approximately to the position and the course of the last zigzag loop 2a that was placed last . Here, the recesses 18 are delimited in the direction of the feed side 10 by the retaining edges 20.

It is particularly advantageous if the retaining edges 20 are in each case a component of insert elements 26, in particular detachably connected to the pressure bar 12. In the illustrated embodiment, the insert elements 26 are screwed to the pressure bar 12. The insert elements 26 also each form a partial area of the Pressure surface 14, wherein appropriate countersunk screws 28 are expediently used for screwing. The insert elements 26 have the advantage that increased wear resistance against friction caused by the band in the area of the retaining edges 20 can be achieved by the insert elements 26 being made of a correspondingly wear-resistant material, in particular steel. The remaining pressure bar 12 can advantageously consist of a different, mechanically easily and quickly machined material. Hard paper (phenolic laminate with paper resin backing, better known under the trademark "Pertinax") is particularly suitable.

The recesses 18 forming the retaining edges 20 are expediently designed as depressions or regions with a reduced thickness of the pressure bar 12. These depressions extend from the retaining edges 20 in the pulling-in or discharging direction X, X ', i.e. transversely or perpendicular to the pressure bar 12, preferably over the entire remaining width of the pressure bar 12. The preferably provided insert elements 26 sit at the "closed" end of the depressions and fill them here so that the pressure surface 14 is continuously present in this area.

Im dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiel sind die weiteren Ausnehmungen 30 als kreisförmige Vertiefungen ausgebildet, deren Mittelpunkte etwa auf der Verbindungsgeraden 24 liegen.4, 5, 7 and 8, the pressure bar 12 preferably has in its pressure surface 14 in each case in the longitudinal direction of the bar adjacent to the recesses 18 forming the retaining edges 20, in particular on the connecting straight line 24 connecting the retaining edges 20 Recesses 30 on. These further recesses 30 support or promote the “wave-like” curvature of the belt longitudinal edge 22, see in particular Fig. 8. In the illustrated embodiment, the further recesses 30 are formed as circular depressions, the center points of which lie approximately on the connecting straight line 24.

It is also of particular advantage if the pressure surface 14 of the pressure bar 12 in the discharge direction X 'via steps 32 which run in the longitudinal direction of the bar and reduce the thickness of the pressure bar 12 (see in particular FIGS. 4, 6, 7 and 9) Relaxation surface area 34 passes, which acts on the band material 2 or the loops 2a laid with a reduced pressing force F '. The reduced pressure force F 'can go to zero. This feature facilitates the further transport of the folded loop package.

Durch diese vorteilhafte Maßnahme wird erreicht, daß die durch die Andruckkraft F bewirkte Reibung zwischen der Andruckleiste 12 bzw. deren Andruckfläche 16 und dem Bandmaterial 2 stets so gering bleibt, daß ein Weiterschieben der paketartig aneinanderliegenden Schlaufen durch den Faltvorgang problemlos möglich ist.4, the steps 32 formed between the pressure surface 14 and the relaxation surface area 34 are viewed from the retaining edges 20 in the discharge direction X 'by a pressure distance A, which is preferably dimensioned such that in this area only a certain number (the depends on the thickness of the strip material 2 being processed) is arranged by zigzag loops 2a. In practice, the pressure distance A will be 10 to 15 mm, in particular approximately 13 mm. This advantageous measure ensures that the friction caused by the pressure force F between the pressure bar 12 or its pressure surface 16 and the strip material 2 always remains so low that a further pushing of the pack-like loops is easily possible by the folding process.

Diese Maßnahme begünstigt die Schlaufenbildung, d.h. die Bildung der 180°-Kehren 2b.4, 5 and 8, is in An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the pressure bar 12 in its two side areas facing the free ends of the movement range of the laying carriage 6, ie in the end areas of the maximum length of the zigzag loops 2a, is reduced in thickness over the entire width of the bar such that here, instead of the pressure surface, a relaxation surface 36 is formed in such a way that the zigzag loops 2a in the area of their 180 ° turns 2b are subjected to a maximum of a pressure force F ″ that is reduced compared to the actual pressure force F in the area of the pressure surface 14. Similar to the force F ', the contact force F''can go to zero. This measure favors the formation of loops, ie the formation of the 180 ° turns 2b.

Fig. 1), ist die Andruckleiste 12 entsprechend verzahnt ausgebildet. Since the laying rollers 7, 8 are designed as bar rollers (cf. FIG. 1), the pressure bar 12 is correspondingly toothed. This ensures that the circumference of the laying rollers 7, 8 extends approximately in the middle of the pressure bar 12 in the laying area. This means that the teeth of the pressure bar 12 protrude approximately to just before the respective roller center. The teeth of the pressure bar 12 are expediently rounded.

Fig. 8.According to FIG. 4, it is now further provided that the individual teeth of the pressure bar 12 are practically separated from one another by groove-like depressions 38 which are continuous in the bar transverse direction. Here, the depressions 38 likewise interrupt the pressure surface 14, which in turn contributes to favoring the wave shape of the longitudinal edge 22 of the strip, see FIG. Fig. 8.

As can finally be seen from FIG. 4, the Pressure bar 12 for the purpose of mounting on the device 1 according to the invention countersunk holes 40, which can in principle be arranged in any areas. 4, such a countersunk hole 40 is arranged at each end of the pressure bar 12, and further countersunk holes 40 can be arranged in the region of the recesses 18.

The invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiment shown and described, but also encompasses all embodiments having the same effect in the sense of the invention.
