Definitions

  • the present invention relates to equipment for the transfer of sick or injured lying down and relates more particularly to stretchers.
  • Known type stretchers see for example GB-A-1 472 272 used in particular for emergency response in the field or urban environment, which consists of taking care of a sick or injured, then transfer him from the scene of the disaster to the care unit, generally consist of stretchers flexible or rigid, sometimes articulated in two half-shells.
  • the present invention aims to remedy the disadvantages of known stretchers by creating a stretcher which, while being of a very simple and little construction costly, allows for transfer or transport a sick or injured person, with the least possible effort and practically without handling it.
  • Its object is therefore a stretcher for the transfer and / or transportation of patients, patients or wounded, consisting of a canvas, characterized in that the canvas has means distributed over its length of removable support, slats provided at their ends gripping means.
  • the removable slat holding means have transverse sheaths, the slats being inserted in a removable and combinable manner into said sheaths.
  • the canvas of the stretcher is formed of a first layer of waterproof plastic and resistant intended to be in contact with the ground and of a second layer of nonwoven fabric, having properties absorbent and comfortable, intended to be in contact with the patient even undressed, the first and the second layers being fixed to each other by gluing or welding.
  • the sleeves for the slats are made of fixing on the canvas sections of wide canvas corresponding to the appropriate locations.
  • the removable slat holding means are consisting of hook-and-loop fasteners attached to the at least one side of the fabric and cooperating with elements Additional hook-and-loop fasteners attached to the slats.
  • a layer of comfort-enhancing foam can be interposed between the first and second layers forming the canvas of the stretcher.
  • the slats are made of plastic or metal.
  • the gripping means are constituted by rounded lights for one hand provided for both ends of each slat.
  • the gripping means are constituted by handles in canvas tape attached at both ends of each slat and designed so that they can, if if necessary, receive stems.
  • the stretcher shown in Fig. 1 has a fabric 1 formed of two superimposed layers 2 and 3.
  • the first layer 2 is made of a material waterproof and robust plastic and forms the layer lower support.
  • the plastic used is advantageously polyethylene.
  • layers 2 and 3 are assembled by welding, at the ends of the fabric, layers 2 and 3 are joined by high resistance welds 3a.
  • a layer of foam (not shown) can be inserted between layers 2 and 3 to improve the comfort of the stretcher.
  • ducts 4 arranged at predetermined intervals at one end to the other of the canvas, and likely to be used in a combined way to best adapt to the patient morphology.
  • the sheaths 4 are produced for example by bonding on the waterproof layer 2 by their edges longitudinal cross sections 5 wide appropriate, the transverse edges of these sections defining with fabric 1, the openings of the respective sheaths.
  • the canvas sections 5 are fixed according to the width some cobweb.
  • the cross sections 5 are advantageously made of the same material as that of the layer waterproof 2.
  • a flexible strip 6 made of plastic, for example polyvinyl chloride.
  • an elongated light 7 forming a handle.
  • the gripping member can consist of a handle made of canvas tape fixed to each end of the slat, and which can allow the use of poles.
  • FIG. 2A shows a batten at the ends of which are drilled holes 7a in which ribbons 7b are engaged forming gripping organs.
  • the stretcher has seven receiving shafts 4 slats, a sheath being provided at each end of the canvas 1 at the level of the head and the feet and five other ducts being provided in intermediate zones between the aforementioned ends, at the shoulders of the spine, pelvis and lower limbs.
  • four slats judiciously placed, are sufficient for the transfer and / or patient transportation.
  • the four slats on the stretcher in Fig. 1 are housed in ducts 4 separated from each other by ducts left unoccupied. So there is a slat 6 to support the patient at the head, spine, pelvis and feet.
  • FIG. 1A another arrangement slats 6 in the sheaths 4 of the fabric intended to strengthen the patient's lumbar support.
  • two slats 6 are placed side by side. rib to support the head and shoulders, a slat is placed at the level of the pelvis and a slat is placed at the feet level.
  • Using four slats allows four people each taking the ends of one side of two neighboring slats, to transport the stretcher with a maximum comfort and safety and minimal effort.
  • FIGs. 3 to 7 there is shown schematically patient transfer operations using the stretcher according to the invention.
  • Fig. 3 we see schematically a patient laid on a 10 bed and to be transferred with a minimum handling on a cart 11 placed next to the bed.
  • the patient is lying on the stretcher with the slats 6 inserted into the appropriate sheaths 4 of this and the stretcher is ready to be removed to its future destination by four people who can grab each of two ends of the neighboring slats 6 in bringing their hands into the 7 end lights of these slats, or by introducing two poles through the fabric ribbons previously put in place (Fig.2A).
  • the stretcher shown in Fig. 8 differs from that described above in that it includes a canvas 15 provided over its entire length with hook-and-loop elements in the form of strips 16 of removable holding slats 17 provided for this purpose with hook-and-loop elements 18 complementary to elements 16.
  • the canvas carries on one of its faces two hook-and-loop tapes 16.
  • the hook-and-loop elements of the fabric and slats can also be made in the form of zones discontinuous.
  • the canvas may optionally include hook-and-loop fasteners on both sides.
  • the ducts 4 can be each internally provided with at least one hook-and-loop element (not shown) cooperating with a self-gripping element complementary (not shown) carried by the corresponding slat.
  • the canvas of the stretcher is made of a material particularly cheap and therefore disposable after use.
  • the stretcher according to the invention has the advantage to be extremely compact as far as where it can be rolled up and occupy only one width corresponding to the width of the slats it behaves.
  • the canvas of the stretcher can be folded alone in an even smaller dimension.
  • the stretcher slats are in themselves means lifting and transporting a sick or injured person over a short distance and this with a minimum of manipulation.
  • their width is designed according to the extent of the body regions they generally have to support, such as head, shoulders, pelvis and the feet.
