Abstract

Sheets secured by grips are fed onto the printing roller before the printing zone, the roller being preceded by a sheet-guiding roller. The sheet is guided pneumatically or mechanically onto the printing roller (2) and along an arc formed between the printing zone (13) of the printing roller and the transfer area. The sheet passes between the transfer area and the guiding roller (3), and is stretched before the transfer area (15) against its travel direction. A guide system (14) running in a curve (12) before the printing zone (13) can have sheet-smoothing equipment (8) connected to a vacuum source below the transfer area.
