Description

The present invention relates to the technical field general of electric heaters used in as a heating medium and comprising one or more electric heating cords.

The present invention relates to a device for heating, in particular a towel dryer, comprising a body main heater intended to radiate the heat produced by an electric heating cord extending inside of said body and held in place inside this latest.

We already know a heated towel radiator of metal plates linked together to form a radiant panel through sheet metal and bolted reinforcements and thus constitute an enclosure of heater intended to be fixed on a partition. The radiator has a series of support arms on which items to be dried, and internally as a means heater, an electric heating cord. This last extends into the heating body forming a circuit in coil, the electric heating cord being maintained against metal plates by force jamming in ribs and tabs formed in the surface of the metal plates forming the enclosure.

Such a heating device is supposed to respect the operating standards required for radiators dry towel. These standards define, at least in part, the thermal stresses that need to be respected by such devices and they require before all to limit any danger of burns from the user, especially his fingers, in contact with the surface of the radiator. This implies in the design of the device to achieve a homogeneous distribution of heat over the entire radiant surface, without appearance zone or temperature points higher than the average temperature required.

The apparatus of the prior art mentioned above, if it obviously meets the mandatory standards of maximum allowable temperature at any point in the surface of the heating body, however suffers from major drawback linked to the heterogeneity of temperatures obtained at the level of the heating body. Such a temperature heterogeneity is due to the very design of the device which involves a series of metal plates between which conduction heat cannot be properly controlled, due to the presence of a large number of thermal bridges preferential such as the screwed connection plate joining all of the metal plates. The heterogeneity of temperature is further aggravated by the thermal relationship direct existing between the electric heating cord and the inner faces of the metal plates. By elsewhere, it turns out that the assembly by wedging the electric heating cord, directly in areas preformed metal plates makes the operation of difficult and long assembly, while its perfect execution is nonetheless imperative if we want the radiator is working properly. Otherwise, the increase in heating power of such a radiator towel warmer known, cannot be obtained if you want keep a good temperature uniformity, that share the addition of an internal blower promoting thermal dissipation. This additional equipment has, obviously a negative impact on the prices of sale of the heater. Finally, the power of this device being regularly distributed over its entire surface, natural convection is at the origin of the creation of a warmer area at the top of the device.

We also know, through the document WO-A-90 11002, a heating device comprising a heating body forming a surface external radiation of the heat produced by a electric heating cord. The latter extends to inside the heating body and, is fixed by contact in heat exchange between two plates made from the "concrete" type. The two plates are, moreover, overmolded around each other electrical cord. The concrete slabs are reinforced with fiberglass.

The object of the invention therefore aims to remedy to the various drawbacks listed above, and to provide a heating device, in particular a towel dryer, in which the heat produced by means of heating is distributed evenly over the entire radiation surface using simple means, good market, and easy to assemble.

A complementary object of the invention aims to provide a heating device, in particular a towel warmer, in which the heat transmission between the cord electric heater and the radiation surface of the heat is improved, and in which the mode of attachment of the heating means proper with respect to the body of heating, is simplified.

A complementary object of the invention is to provide a heating device, in particular a towel warmer, in which the heat emission is controlled and constant in any point on the outside radiation surface and this regardless of the position occupied by the heating cord relatively to the lower and upper part of the body of heated.

Another object of the invention is to accelerate significantly the speed of towel drying hanging on the device.

The aims assigned to the invention are achieved using a heating device, in particular a towel dryer, comprising a heating body forming a surface of external radiation of the heat produced by a cord electric heater extending inside said body characterized in that the electric heating cord is fixed in heat exchange contact on at least one sheet of flexible material good heat conductor constituting a radiation and conduction surface internal extending opposite the radiation surface external.

Other features and advantages of the invention will appear and emerge in more detail on reading the description given below, with reference to the accompanying drawings, given by way of illustrative example in which:
  • Figure 1 shows a front view of a heating device according to the invention.
  • Figure 2 shows in a partially cut away front view, a detail of the fixing of the electric heating cord.
  • Figure 3 shows in a partial cross-sectional view taken along line III-III of Figure 1, the internal structure of a heating device according to the invention.
  • Figure 4 shows an alternative embodiment of the heating device according to the invention in a longitudinal cross-sectional view.
  • Figure 5 shows an additional alternative embodiment of the heating device according to the invention

The heating device according to the invention as as shown in Figure 1 includes a heater 1 having an upper part 1a and a part lower 1b, and intended to be fixed, by any means suitable, not shown in the figures, on a partition for example. The heating body 1 is provided with preferably in its upper part 1a, of at least one and preferably two support bars 2 suitable for receiving items to dry, such as towels.

The heating body 1 is constituted, as it is shown in Figure 3, a front panel 3, and a panel rear 4 intended to face the wall or partition support. The heater 1 thus forms by through panels 3 and 4 a surface of external radiation of the heat produced by a cord electric heater 5 extending inside the enclosure defined by panels 3 and 4.

These are made in the form of two substantially rectangular metal plates, the surface is irregular in order to increase the surface heat exchange with the outside, both by radiation and by convection, each plate is provided corrugations 6 separated by grooves 6b extending along the main longitudinal axis x-x 'of each panel 3.4. The heater 1 being designed to be fixed substantially vertically on a support partition, the corrugations 6 internally form the heater 1 a series of channels 7 extending along the axis x-x 'substantially vertically. Advantageously, as shown in the Figure 3, the heat exchange surface of the rear panel 4 is greater than the exchange surface of the front panel 3. This difference in heat exchange properties can be obtained in a simple way by increasing the depth of the grooves 6b of the rear panel 4 relative to the depth of the grooves 6b of the front panel 3. The pitch of the succession of grooves 6b and undulations 6 is chosen so that at least some grooves 6 of each panel 3,4 opposite coincide when placing the panels 3.4.

The electric heating cord 5 is of known type, and for example has double silicone insulation, and is fixed in heat exchange contact on at least one sheet of flexible material 10 good heat conductor extending in the heating body 1 opposite the or internal surfaces of panels 3 and 4. The material flexible good heat conductor can consist of example of aluminum or copper sheets of a average thickness of the order of 2/10 mm. So advantageous, the electric heating cord 5 is inserted and fixed between two sheets 10,11 of aluminum adhering one against each other and wrapping the cord 5. The adhesion of the heating cord 5 on the sheet or sheets 10,11 as well as the adhesion of the two sheets to each other is obtained particularly advantageously by simple bonding using a temperature resistant glue. Good obviously, other means of adhesion are possible.

As shown, especially in Figure 2, the sheets 10,11, have a geometric shape substantially equivalent to that of each panel 3,4, and extend over a surface also substantially equivalent or at least slightly lower than that of panels 3,4.

Advantageously, the electric heating cord 5 is arranged and mounted between the two sheets 10 and 11 of so as to form, from the upper part to the part low 1b of the heating body 1, a serpentine circuit extending substantially over the entire surface of the body of heats 1 from a cold upper strand 12 to a lower strand 13 cold. Preferably, the serpentine circuit has a series of strands superimposed straight lines 15 extending in one direction substantially perpendicular to the axis x-x 'and, by therefore, in a direction perpendicular to the canals 7. Also advantageously, the distance between the superimposed and adjacent straight strands 15 of the circuit in coil is variable depending on the position occupied by each strand relative to the lower part 1b or upper part 1a of the heating body 1. Thus, as shown in the Figure 2, the average distance d2 between two strands superimposed 15 of the lower part 1b of the body of heater is less than the distance d1 between two strands straight lines 15 extending in the upper part of the heating element 1. Obviously, the variation of distance can be continuous or discontinuous between upper and lower parts of the heating body 1. On thus varies the density of the cord in a simple manner electric heating in privileged areas of the body 1, and in particular in its lower part 1b to compensate for the thermal convection effect tending to maintain the upper zone of the heating body 1 at a higher average temperature.

Compensation of the thermal convection effect can obviously be obtained using a circuit of the heating cord 5 different from the serpentine circuit shown in Figures 1 and 2, without leaving the part of the invention.

Plusieurs moyens de serrage 20 sont prévus et répartis sur toute la surface du corps de chauffe 1.Sheets of good heat conductive material 10.11 are provided with a series of perforations 18 provided at regular intervals in the axial direction x-x 'and in a direction perpendicular to said axis, between the strands and loops of the serpentine circuit. The perforations 18 are used to fix all the panels 3 and 4 with the sheets 10,11 coating the electric cord 5. The fixing is ensured by means of tightening 20 (FIG. 3), such as through studs, whose chamfered end is screwed into the thickness of the front panel 3 while the free end opening through a hole in the rear panel 4 receives a nut 21. The clamping means 20 are arranged between the channels 7 in the opposite grooves 6b of the panels 3,4 so as to by clamping the clamping of said panels one against each other. The electric heating cord 5 is thus sandwiched between opposite 6b grooves of each panel 3,4 and is held in place in the body of heat 1 with leaves 10,11. Several ways to clamping 20 are provided and distributed over the entire surface of the heating element 1.

The heating device according to the invention into a towel radiator and ensures good control and a uniform temperature distribution over the entire surface of the heating body 1 thanks to the addition an additional radiation surface consisting of the sheet or sheets 10.11. These last indeed by conduction and radiation a first diffusion and distribution of thermal energy supplied by the cord electric heater 5 which is in direct thermal contact with them. This thermal diffusion effect is completed by the free circulation of air contained in the body of heats 1 through channels 7. For this purpose, the enclosure formed by the heating body 1 is open to its part upper and / or lower so as to favor the convection and free air circulation in the channels 7. The electric heating cord 5 can be very easily set up and shaped on any of 10,11 sheets by simple gluing and adding the second sheet of flexible material good conductor of heat also presents no difficulty particular implementation. The assembly of the assembly thus formed between the panels 3,4 no longer requires whereas a simple position adjustment so as to align the perforations 18 of the sheets 10,11 with those provided in the panels 3.4. The overall operation of mounting is thus greatly simplified.

Dans un tel cas, la feuille d'aluminium unique est bien évidemment disposée en regard du panneau avant 3.The heating device according to the invention preferably has two sheets of aluminum coating the electric heating cord 5, but it is obvious that the use of a single sheet flexible aluminum can be considered. In such a case, the single aluminum sheet is obviously arranged in front panel look 3.

According to an alternative embodiment shown in the Figure 4 the heating device according to the invention comprises, in addition to the heating body 1, an additional block 30 arranged under the lower part 1b of the latter.

The additional block 30 consists of a cowling 32 as well as a support piece 31 intended to fix the additional block 30 against the heating body 1 by all appropriate means, for example by screwing.

According to the variant of the invention shown in Figure 4, the cover 32 is constituted of a closed frame comprising an upper grid 34 and a front grille 33, located substantially in line with the front panel 3 of heater 1.

Advantageously, the ventilation means 36 is consisting of a tangential turbine extending in the plane of extension of the device along a perpendicular axis to the axis x-x 'in front of the front grid 33 which forms the air flow ejection grid.

The heating means 35 are preferably arranged between the upper grid 34 and the means of ventilation 36, and include dissipative elements 35b of finned heat axially mounted on an element resistive preferably armored type 35c in U shape.

L'air ainsi réchauffé est ensuite éjecté à travers la grille frontale 33.In operation, the ventilation means 36 draws in ambient air 22, through the grid 34 and the heating means 35. The air thus heated is then ejected through the front grille 33.

The geometry of the latter allows to generate an upward flow 23 of hot air along the panel radiating before 3.

The position of the grid 34 is advantageously chosen so that the ventilation means 36 sucks ambient air from the outside of the panel back 4. Thus the thermal balance of the heating body 1 is not disturbed by the start-up of the block additional 30.

It is also conceivable to use as this is shown in Figure 5, a centrifugal turbine 36 '. The latter is mounted on the rear of the front panel 3 and against the surface 4 'of the lower extreme part of the rear panel 4. In this embodiment the dimension longitudinal along the axis x-x 'of the rear panel 4 is reduced and the heating means 35 'are constituted resistive elements with filaments.
