Abstract

Tensioning mechanism for a flexible, flat covering, such as blind, awning cloth (12) or the like, in which there is arranged in the edge strip (14) of the awning cloth (12) at least one spring means (36b) which bears a freely movable tensioning roller (34b) and is guided about a mounting tensioning roller (47b) outwards through a guide rail (18) onto a winding-up roller (26). The spring means (36b) is adjustable in its spring tensioning from outside by a tensioning mechanism (15) which is arranged inside the edge strip (14). Also provided in the edge strip (14) are two mounting tensioning rollers (47a and 47b) which, after introduction of the pull means (20), are pushed together in order to place the pull means under tension. <IMAGE>
