Abstract

The invention relates to a method for repairing a bottom electrode which is used as an anode, a suitable material being applied onto the remaining head after a defined wear level is reached and this material being fused on by means of an arc (which is ignited between the cathode and the anode) to such an extent that a connection to the head of the anode exists. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device for carrying out the method, aids (50) being provided for generating the arc, to which aids (50) a cathode is connected which can be moved into an axial position with respect to the respective old anode (23) while the metallic material is being fused on. <IMAGE>
