Description

The invention relates to a container for liquids, in particular disposable drinking containers, with the features of the preamble of claim 1.

A container of this type is known from US-A-2,207,003. The previously known container is a paper container for holding liquids. The paper container is in two parts, with a reinforcing outer covering being placed over an inner component of the container. The inner component has the shape of a truncated cone. The lower end of the truncated cone is closed by a base cover and the upper end by a cover. Bottom and closure covers are formed by two disks with corresponding edge flanges. The edge flanges are glued to the truncated cone. In addition, the edge flange can be held by inside and outside upper and lower edges of the casing.

A disadvantage of the known paper container is that the structure is relatively complex and closing the container is relatively complex due to the two-part design of the bottom and closure covers and their gluing. Furthermore, an outer covering must be removed at least partially before opening the container.

The present invention is therefore based on the object of improving a container of the type mentioned in such a way that the container can be filled quickly and easily and inexpensively and at the same time enables the consumer to open the container in a simple manner to consume the liquid.

This object is achieved in that the container is flattened towards the drinking opening and has a tear-open tab as a closure, which forms an extension of the flattened end of the container and is connected to it via a waterproof perforation.

In this way, there is a simple upper closure for the container. If the container is to be opened, it is sufficient to separate the tear-open tab in the area of the perforation. After the separation, the drinking opening can easily be widened into an approximately oval drinking opening.

Containers of the generic type are often used for soft drinks. These contain carbonic acid or other gas-forming substances that are an obstacle to filling because they produce foam.

The conical shape of the container, at least in the lower region, advantageously enables it to be filled through the wider container end. This means that when the container is filled it is held differently than when the liquid is consumed, namely with the wider end of the container upwards. The liquid can thus be introduced into the container through the more accessible, wider container end. If the container is filled, it is closed liquid-tight in the area of the container bottom with the separate bottom lid.

This is different with the consumption of the liquid, e.g. while drinking a drinking liquid. The drinking opening is arranged at the tapered end of the container. This not only has the advantage that the closure for the drinking opening is smaller than the closure for the filling opening, but also that the conical shape of the container results in a funnel effect in the drinking opening. The liquid flows together to the drinking opening and concentrates there into a drinkable liquid flow.

The inclined container walls also reduce the risk of splashing out of a half-filled container. The hopper shape of the container is also helpful here.

The container according to the invention is particularly suitable as Disposable drinking container for soft drinks because it is inexpensive to manufacture, can be filled quickly and can be used easily and quickly by the consumer. The essentially conical shape of the container also contributes greatly to its stability.

In an advantageous development of the invention it is provided that the side wall or the side walls and / or the bottom and / or the closure consists of a semi-rigid, liquid-tight material. In principle, the container can be made of any material suitable for holding liquids. For cost reasons, however, it is advantageous if the said semi-rigid material is used, since it can usually consist of cardboard, plastic, paper and these materials can not only be obtained inexpensively, but can also be processed inexpensively. The material usually consists of a combination of several base materials that are glued together, laminated together, etc. on the one hand to meet the requirement for body rigidity and flexibility at the same time and on the other hand to meet the requirements placed on hygiene. Metal, in particular light metal such as aluminum, is also suitable for producing the container and its parts. With regard to the closure of the container at both ends, it can be advantageous to use thermoreagible material, in particular weldable material. In this way it is possible not only to create a secure connection between the lid and the side walls in the bottom area, but also in the area of the drinking opening.

Fig. 1
An embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to a drawing. It shows:
Fig. 1
2 shows a perspective side view of an embodiment of the invention,
The container 1 according to the invention from FIG. 1 serves to hold liquids, in particular soft drinks. The containers are designed as disposable drinking containers and each have a bottom 2, a side wall 3 and a closure 4 for a drinking opening 5.

Der Behälter von Fig. 1 ist im wesentlichen konisch ausgebildet, dies gilt insbesondere für den unteren Bereich desselben, da er dort eine kreisrunde Füllöffnung 6 besitzt und sich nach oben hin, also in Richtung auf die Trinköffnung 5 verjüngt.1 is essentially conical, this applies in particular to the lower region thereof, since it has a circular filling opening 6 there and tapers towards the top, that is to say towards the drinking opening 5.

After the upper container end is flattened in the embodiment of FIG. 1, this results in one Mixed form between the lower, conical container area and the upper container end, which is oval in cross section and finally flattened. As a continuation of this flattened container end, a pull tab 7 is provided as the closure 4, which itself forms a handle and is connected to the container via a waterproof perforation 8. If you release this closure by pulling the tear-off tab along the perforation, the container opens in the area of the drinking opening 5. This is because the tension between the conical container cross section in the lower container area and the flattened cross section in the upper area ensures this. This effect is desirable since the drinking opening thus opens, as it were, for the consumer after he has pulled off the tear-open tab 7.

The bottom 2 closes the wider end of the container towards the bottom, with the aid of a separate bottom cover which is applied in a liquid-tight manner. The lid has the same circular shape as the filling opening at the lower end of the container and slightly projects above the filling opening. To fill the container, the container 1 is arranged with its wider end open at the top. So its narrower end is at the bottom and is closed. The liquid can be poured into the, in this case, conically widening container without difficulty. When the level is reached, the bottom cover 2 is applied and with the container e.g. permanently connected by heat welding.

In the present case, the container according to the embodiment according to FIG. 1 consists of a combination material made of cardboard, polyethylene and Aluminum, with the polyethylene laminated on. This applies both to the bottom cover 2, the side wall 3 and the closure 4. The material is semi-rigid and sufficiently flexible to ensure the opening effect just mentioned when the tear tab is torn off.
