Description

The invention relates to a diesel engine according to the preamble of claim 1, as known from GB-B-532 275.

In four-stroke internal combustion engines in which the intake and exhaust ports are arranged on one cylinder head side, the injection valves can only be accommodated on the cylinder head side opposite the channels. In such four-stroke internal combustion engines, the camshaft is usually accommodated with bumpers, rocker arms and rocker arm brackets for actuating the gas exchange valves on the side of the injection valves. Since the tilting jack brackets are arranged in the area of the cylinder center, space problems arise when accommodating the injection valves, particularly if the injection valves are to be installed relatively steeply and in the cylinder center and at the same time are to remain outside the valve cover.

The object of the invention is to implement an injection valve with a steep and central installation position in a four-stroke internal combustion engine of the arrangement described above.

This object is solved by the characterizing part of claim 1. The arrangement of the rocker arm brackets according to the invention ensures that there is sufficient space in the center of each cylinder in the cylinder head for the steep and central arrangement of the respective injection valve.

In the case of block cylinder heads, the arrangement according to the invention offers the advantage of ensuring the required space for the injection valves and still obtaining the simple solution with a rocker arm bracket for two rocker arms.

The rocker arm brackets are usually attached to the cylinder head with two screws. However, it can also be advantageous to use only one screw, advantageously a cylinder head screw, for fastening a rocker arm bracket.

The injectors can be housed under the valve cover. In contrast, the arrangement according to the invention of the injection valves according to claim 3 has the advantage that they are accessible without dismantling the valve cover and in the event of a break in the injection line, no lubricating oil thinning occurs. In addition, it is not necessary to pass the injection line through the valve cover.

The inventive design of the rocker arm bracket as a round pin represents a particularly simple solution.

Further features of the invention result from the following description and the drawing, in which exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown schematically.

The arrangement according to the invention according to FIG. 1 consists of several cylinders 1 arranged in series, onto which a cylinder head 2, which is designed as a block head, is fastened with cylinder head screws 3.

The rocker arm brackets 7 are combined for two adjacent gas exchange valves of adjacent cylinders. The rocker arm brackets 7 are fastened to the block head with two fastening screws 8 in the middle between two adjacent cylinders 1. They carry the rocker arms 4 on the shaft ends 9, which are axially fixed with retaining rings 16.

In the outer cylinders of a row of cylinders, a separate rocker arm bracket is arranged for the outer valve.

There is sufficient space between the free ends of the stub shaft 9 to accommodate the injectors in the desired steep and central position in the cylinder head. At the same time there is space for the valve cover 15 with the valve cover seal 17, which are U-shaped in the area of the injection valve 18. In this way it is independent Assembly of injection nozzle 18 and valve cover 15 possible. In addition, dilution of the lubricating oil by leaky or broken injection lines is made impossible.

In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, the rocker arm bracket is designed as a round pin 10. Since the round bolt 10 can be made from rod material, a particularly simple solution results. As can be seen in Figure 3, the round bolt 10 lies with a flat 13 on the cover plate 6 of the cylinder head 2 and is screwed on with two fastening screws 8. In the solution according to FIGS. 2 and 3, the cover plate 6 is pulled up to the level of the run bolt 10. It has slots 11 into which the side surfaces 14 of the round bolts 10 fit and serve to fix these round bolts in position.

In addition, the rocker arms in this version are axially fixed by the slots 11, since the width of the slots 11 corresponds to the width of the rocker arms 4 in the region of their bearings 12. In this case, circlips can be omitted, which further simplifies the arrangement.
